Planetside 2 V6 - VS capped Indar? It's more likely than you think

I dunno if it's the same guy, but as a TR I see a guy name IAmCommanderShepard and he was an alright guy there. I do see him on VS a lot, but he's never been a problem to me.
He sounds hilarious, I'd message him all day long
To Mattherson players, is anyone familiar with a Vanu player named 'ShepardCommander'? I've run into him time and time again, and every time I kill him he spazzes out. Other times, he'll log into another character and follow me around to TK me or generally be in the way of what I'm doing.
Is this normal of him?
For reference of what I'm talking about, I mean this. I get messages like this from him every time.

Shepard-Commander?

Oh yeah, he said he was the best pilot on Mattherson a bit back, although I have gotten a 23 killing spree in his incredible battle galaxy so I didn't really mind his bullshit.
I was wondering, apparently in PS1, you could warp to another continent INSIDE the vehicle you are in if you pilot it.
Can you do it in PS2? I haven't found a way. It can be frustrating to spawn a galaxy, only to find out that your platoon is moving to that new alert and the cooldown for a new galaxy is like 10 minutes.

Nope, If I recall that feature is currently on the road map or something.

It's on the roadmap, under unscheduled though, Also the one day sale is currently going on, every vehicle weapon for 25% off.

I am pretty sure "IAmCommanderShepard" and "ShepardCommander" are two completely different people. I've heard it myself from "IAmCommanderShepard."
I have also heard that "ShepardCommander" tends to accuse people of hacking and such. I am not sure if this is serious, or an attempt to be funny. However, it is pretty mean in the first place.

I've seen ShepardCommander on Matherson, and can confirm his douchedom.
Oh god maxed Adrenalin shield and nanoweave. I feel pretty much unstoppable.
My heavy KDR has gone from around 3ish to 5-8 since the double exp weekend.

Also that NS-15M is fantastic. It feels like an assault rifle.
Is there a point to getting other LA weapons for Vanu if I already have SMG?
I started branching out to LA a bit recently and am using the SMG I previously unlocked. Just wondering if its worth getting any of the other LA vanu weapons if I already have that. The SMG seems to be really nice for firing while flying due to the tiny cone of fire but the ammo pool is tiny and I wonder if I'm missing out by not getting or using the other stuff you can get for LA's.
Shotgun is amazing for biolabs and towers. you do restrict yourself on range much more than the SMG however

Adrenaline Shield always did sound like it would be good for people who prefer to throw themselves into the thick of shit, but hardly anyone ever uses it. And the NS-15 is definitely my favorite gun ever.
Pump shotgun with slugs
Yeehaww

By the way, anyone knows when will be the next "2-3X the amount of SC for 1 buy" event?

Its great, it recharges passively but jumps up 25% per kill. So you can literally have it on a lot of the time during a heavy firefight.
Plus with the nanoweave it makes you a very hard target.

I don't like using shotguns in games so I'm mostly compairing my SMG to the carbines
I just cant decide if it's worht getting a carbine for my LA if I already have the SMG

I've been having fun with the resist sheild and lasher.
You can take on Scatmaxes... AND WIN!

Is it good right off the bat, or do you have to cert it to a certain level before it starts becoming good?

I found it got pretty good quickly in the first few levels. Better than the standard shield anyway.

Honestly i find most of the carbines trash at medium ranges, too much kickback on the recoil (then again, i'm NC) the SMG at least is workable, albeit little damage.
I just had a thought
I wonder what an FPS would be like if instead of XP that rewards individual users per kill/action if it worked in reverse - where you "lose XP" on death and failing objectives and such. Of course it wouldn't be called XP at all but something else, some kind of general resource.
I have no idea how this would work, but the general premise is that in a real war there is no "XP" gained from killing a guy, as killing a dude gives you the benefit of knowing you denied your enemy something. So you still benefit from inflicting heavy casualties on the enemy but not because you get a bunch of personal XP from such a feat but because you've taken away or damaged the enemy's "XP" of sorts?
I imagine the system would work in reverse of what current XP does - which rewards the player per kill, positive action, etc. In a positive-resource system like what you currently get with most FPS's, you gain resources for every action you complete, which means staying alive isn't nessicarily important, what tools you use aren't important except for the ones that give you highest K/D, etc. Player life has zero value because all that matters is the points you earned at the end of the day.
With a negative-resource system though (however it would work), you'd start out with some kind of pool that you lose every time you die, fail an objective, etc. Killing would directly weaken the player and enemy forces and make you more powerful by the simple fact that they were the ones to die (and as such, their faction actually loses -something-, whatever it is) while you did not. Completing certain objectives well would net you actual positive resources, which would make winning such objectives very valuable.
Maybe you'd start out each day with a certain pool of "XP" that you had which you could spend on whatever, and each objective you lose, each defeat you face, etc detracts from that. But that doesn't really sound good to me, there's gotta be a better way to implement it.
I'm just imagining a system that somehow makes reckless zerging a bad idea because it'll cost a "lot of XP" to do, or reckless MBT spawning a bad idea because of that, or making it so an ACTUAL retreat is a very smart idea to do to avoid "losing".
This probably sounds terrible because XP is the complete wrong word to apply to this but I don't know of a word that would :v: But the idea is, rather than reward the player for kills/small objectives/etc instead you'd somehow "damage" the other team/faction/player for your kills/small objectives/etc (and as such, prevent them from killing/etc you).
I just got teabagged for the first time in this game. Have schools just started to break up for the holidays in the US by any chance?

The problem with this is that in a territory based shooter (and lets face it, even it weren't as cut and dry hex based like it is with PS2, you would need some system to mark player progress and make vistory mean something) once one side has an advantage, it becomes very difficult for the losing faction to make a comeback, and you get a snowball effect where the losing faction as a whole cannot recover from, or recover quickly enough.
Maybe a system like this would work if you had special facilities, like power plants or factories or laboratories or whathaveyou that would gradually supply the needed resource along the roads/links of every base owned by your faction. The closer to these facilities a base is, the more quickly it would be supplied, and only when the base is fully supplied, the resource travels from one base to another.
Also, these facilities can only produce a finite amount of energy/whatever at once. Lets say 100000 units of this resource for example is the maximum that can be in play from any one facility at a time. This is to prevent links closer to the facilities from being limitless in power and unassailable as they would be instantly resupplied. Once the max number of resources are in play, the facility goes dormant until it is needed again.
This would make the front lines the weakest parts of the faction's territorys, and where this sort of resource-depreciation would take its toll. This would also force larger outfits to prioritize where they are needed most since a larger presence would mean a larger drain on the energy, in turn weakening the links farther from the front line. You would get scenarios where a faction may willingly give up territory in order to secure greater gains somewhere else, and allow for a much more dynamic front line.
I just got teabagged for the first time in this game. Have schools just started to break up for the holidays in the US by any chance?
Most colleges are ending, schools go until 1-2 weeks into june.
Okay so,
my outfit was just doing their normal thing, capping bases and such
when our platoon leader says we had an invite from another outfit for a special 'surprise' for the NC
we were told to mount up as AA infantry and pile into galaxies, which we did
then we went all the way from the TR warpgate to valley storage right outside the NC warpgate without losing anything
and then we were all dropped off on a huge rock overlooking the base
we shot down aircraft so quickly it was unreal, galaxies went down in seconds
we were there for an hour before the NC used tanks to flank us and bombard us from their warpgate shield
pictures for your enjoyment:

Lol I teabagged someone last night for the first time in forever
some strange combination of events and my mood determined that to be the appropriate action for some reason
