Planetside 2 V6 - VS capped Indar? It's more likely than you think

Personally I like the look of the NC version of the pixelate camo. We need more yellow damn it.

I haven't played this game in over 3 months.
Have they optimized it yet? What else is new too?
That black camo looks awesome too. And the new armor
The black camo makes the VS even more ridiculous at night - the engineer shown wearing it only has a blue sigil on his chest and a purple helmet. They'll be even harder to see at night than they already are.
The TR and NC still have a lot of color on their arms, chest, and knees.

Optimised, no. I still have to run it on the lowest settings possible to have around 30 FPS, while I can run FC3 at high for more FPS.
For what has been changed....where do we begin?

Good point, I guess. I usually don't have any issue at night.
Sorry but I like SOEs content rate and transparency.
I think they're doing a good job, regardless of all the problems with the game.
The transparency is alright, but I guess we will just have to disagree with the first part.
I just had a thought
I wonder what an FPS would be like if instead of XP that rewards individual users per kill/action if it worked in reverse - where you "lose XP" on death and failing objectives and such. Of course it wouldn't be called XP at all but something else, some kind of general resource.
I have no idea how this would work, but the general premise is that in a real war there is no "XP" gained from killing a guy, as killing a dude gives you the benefit of knowing you denied your enemy something. So you still benefit from inflicting heavy casualties on the enemy but not because you get a bunch of personal XP from such a feat but because you've taken away or damaged the enemy's "XP" of sorts?
I imagine the system would work in reverse of what current XP does - which rewards the player per kill, positive action, etc. In a positive-resource system like what you currently get with most FPS's, you gain resources for every action you complete, which means staying alive isn't nessicarily important, what tools you use aren't important except for the ones that give you highest K/D, etc. Player life has zero value because all that matters is the points you earned at the end of the day.
With a negative-resource system though (however it would work), you'd start out with some kind of pool that you lose every time you die, fail an objective, etc. Killing would directly weaken the player and enemy forces and make you more powerful by the simple fact that they were the ones to die (and as such, their faction actually loses -something-, whatever it is) while you did not. Completing certain objectives well would net you actual positive resources, which would make winning such objectives very valuable.
Maybe you'd start out each day with a certain pool of "XP" that you had which you could spend on whatever, and each objective you lose, each defeat you face, etc detracts from that. But that doesn't really sound good to me, there's gotta be a better way to implement it.
I'm just imagining a system that somehow makes reckless zerging a bad idea because it'll cost a "lot of XP" to do, or reckless MBT spawning a bad idea because of that, or making it so an ACTUAL retreat is a very smart idea to do to avoid "losing".
This probably sounds terrible because XP is the complete wrong word to apply to this but I don't know of a word that would :v: But the idea is, rather than reward the player for kills/small objectives/etc instead you'd somehow "damage" the other team/faction/player for your kills/small objectives/etc (and as such, prevent them from killing/etc you).
It almost sounds like you're talking about a ticket system similar to Battlefield's. The enemy team loses tickets per death so they eventually just can't respawn anymore and get driven from the field.

I'm really looking forward to the redesign of TR weapons shown there. They desperately need that new style. Wonder if that carbine is a new weapon entirely, or if it's just a new model.
The tank turrets and camo look pretty kick ass as well.
And as far as that goes, does anyone see any change to the NC weapons listed there? Aside from the shotgun and the ACX-11 they look the same.
And if those shotguns are in fact the mid shotguns I've been looking for, then I will take back every bad thing I've said about SOE in those posts, but I have a feeling that they are just a new model for the first PA shotguns.

Sheeeeeeeeeeeiiiit that looks cool
I don't know. If they intended their 6 year plan to take over a year, then they just blatantly lied to everyone.
I'm not really sure, but I think 6 years is a tad bit longer than a year?

I'm buying this camo for infantry, vehicles and weapons the second it comes out. And I'm going to use it on everything.

Yeah but tickets are too simple and just determine the end of a round rather than something long term like XP, or something that affects more than just "how many lives you have"
I honestly never cared too heavily for BF's ticket system, it does it's purpose but it's more or less just a means to win the game rather than an actual resource system.
Those new weapon models are just passes on old ones. Some one made this album of the TR ones http://imgur.com/a/9Tnjd#27
There was also a bunch of comparison pics of VS weapons before / after but I can't find them now.
Can you toggle lumifiber?
I'm imagining and entire force laying in complete still silence along an enemy's predicted path along the lattice at night, then suddenly ambush as everyone turns on their lumifiber for effect and bumrushes
On vehicles it turns on with flashlights, probably the same with infantry.
jesus christ the Carnage BR is just the essence of rape, it's really strong in close quarters

YES! Updated infiltrator armor, was getting tired of having tiny armor-pieces.

Wait, are those on the Test server or something?
I'm gonna wear the dark camo so it's harder to see me, then wear lumifiber trim to look awesome!

You cannot compete with the spandex.
Also I like how the "updated" weapon models are merely the existing weapons chopped up and stuck back together incorrectly.
You cannot compete with the spandex.
I just remembered that VS have dark purple armour, so they will still reign supreme in being hard to see at night.
Lock your doors, hide your children. They hide in the shadows. Waiting.
what's the "icon_missions" ?
what's the "icon_missions" ?
Probably for the upcoming player-made missions. Basically they're supposed to function like the attack / defend markers only more specific and I think contributing towards their objective will grant bonus exp to the team mates carrying it out (don't quote me on that though).
So looking back on my of my battles earlier in the week I remembered Allatum.
What about Allatum you ask?
Well more specifically the Botany Wing of Allatum.
I took a peek at the plants being grown and what did I find? Lettuce.
That's right! HUNDREDS of people died fighting over lettuce.
Since there's no "misc" slot for infantry cosmetics, how will they equip the lumifiber? Will it be on the armor slot or will it be a new one, or even the decal slot? It'd suck to not be able to wear composite armor while glowing like a discoball.
They've teased a pic of lumifiber on a TR MAX once, it was applied on top of composite armor. So it's either part of composite or it's coming with multiple cosmetic slots.

It should be noted the changes have been made to a number of the carbines in the Test server as well. The new TR carbine model may be given to the Lynx and the AMC considering their sights are all jacked up right now.
The revisions on the affected LMGs though are pretty good. I just hope they change up the firing sounds for TR carbines as well.
Oh, and the Razor has had some significant alterations to it and has one of the BR's iron sights now.

And some carbines are finally getting stocks.
[editline]29th May 2013[/editline]
I just saw the NC weapon changes and I don't understand some of them. The new Anchor looks almost identical to the GD-22s and the carnage changes (namely giving it the shorter barrel) make it exactly the same in appearance as the GR-22. I can only assume that this means they're also going to get around to changing those two weapons too and if not then these changes are quite baffling.
