Planetside 2 V6 - VS capped Indar? It's more likely than you think

Ugh, this game is fucking awful on a morning, at least on Miller. Nothing but 2-3 TR or NC platoons taking whatever they can before anybody logs on. Bloody impossible to fight against.

for fucks sake SOE buff the fucking base turrets
they're utterly worthless
we need them buffed for when the TR and VS start teaming up on Miller

what if
we could cert our drop pod so that it explodes five seconds after landing

i think drop pods would be cool things to cert
like a small gun you could attach to the side to try and attack things on the ground
or faster movement while it descends
what if
we could get rid of steerable drop pods entirely so people don't get a free pass to get anywhere they want undermining the only perk of light assaults (and galaxies), not to mention how they are free to drop in the middle of a zerg and do damage because drop pods both act like shields and infantry doesn't render for a few seconds after landing
Honestly, I die a little inside everytime there's an enemy drop pod landing right on top of an enemy sunderer and I can do nothing but stare at it for seconds waiting for the guy to render while he calmly drops his c4.
At least it's not as bad as when people used tank mines to do that but come on
I just discovered a while ago biolabs spawn MAX repair farming
pretty hilarious to be the MAX and just stand right in front, fucking around taking all the shots and just chilling

The amount of times i've waited by a newly dropped drop pod as an LA just WAITING for the hapless sod to appear so I can swoop in like a falcon and enlighten his sorry backside.
You'd be surprised how quickly even a shielded HA goes down with a clip of hip fired default LA rifle and a knife to the face.

is that one of the new gun redesigns for the VS?

[editline]30th May 2013[/editline]
oh lol thought I used it already

Squad drop pods would be fantastic.

The certs could be related to either you buying two identical items with SC, or some other foulup that occured a long time ago.
The Squad boosts were always 6 months, but again, they adjusted the boost from a meaningless 10% bonus to a 50% one.

There's a cooldown of like 10 minutes between drop pods, how is this a concern?
And 80% of the time I drop on top of a mountain miles from where the action takes place or in the middle of an enemy army.

Oh and I saw this in the SOE forums:
https://forums.station.sony.com/ps2/index.php?threads/july-improved-vehicle-deconstruction.83050/
How the fuck do you deconstruct a vehicle??? I didn't even know it was possible!
it was possible but it isn't anymore. You would do it by opening the vehicle management menu and choose deconstruct.
page down
Sucks, sometimes I fuck up my landing with a galaxy or something and it gets stuck, then I have to wait 20 minutes for the thing to disappear, if nobody is stupid enough to stay inside.

aside from the awkwardness of being crammed into a tiny container with nine other dudes, with your face pressed up against Heavy Assault's helmet and someone's rifle digging into your back
and then it turns out Engineer is scared of heights, and he soils himself in the shuttle, and you have to endure the smell for ages while you wait to drop

11 other dudes. And just imagine that crybaby MAX who starts weeping hysterically when he realizes he may have to trudge 500 meters to get somewhere because everyone is fighting over where the droppod lands.

Assuming he drops right next to you and stands there like a moron after dropping, sure, otherwise if he's actually looking around he'll start shooting at you before you can even see him
It's kind of like that time they decided to add spawn protection to sunderers, if you spawn/drop in a shitty position you should die, you don't deserve spawn immunity

Spawn beacons have a cooldown of 2 minutes. I see people abusing them all the time, especially on towers they drop beacons behind barriers where you have absolutely no chance to destroy them and then redeploy and drop pod right on top of deployed sunderers. Assuming you actually see it coming down you still have to deal with the fact that you have no idea from which side he's going to come out and he's already placing c4 in the meantime
I kind of wish they would slow down drop pods by making a spaceship spawn zone. Then you'd have time to equip things or plan with your squad and others, and dropping in would be slowed down by a short walk.
Also it'd be cool.

Oh my god they should make drop pod six packs just like soda six packs.
can't believe people are still complaining about scatmaxes when VS maxes are basically blenders that move at mach 10 right now
can't believe people are still complaining about scatmaxes when VS maxes are basically blenders that move at mach 10 right now
Scatmaxes were only ever OP in biolabs anyway. ZOE MAXes have basically replaced VS infantry right now.
can't believe people are still complaining about scatmaxes when VS maxes are basically blenders that move at mach 10 right now
I never got the obsession of crying about scatmaxes. On any toon I play, if I turn a corner and see a max that's looking my direction within 20 meters, I'm most likely gonna die. They kinda suck at mid range.
Yay for more cool stuff I'll never get to use past a trial because it's so expensive.
The old scattermaxes cut down another MAX in about a second at close range. Additionally, infantry out to 30 meters were dead instantly. They were overpowered everywhere, they were just in large numbers at biolabs because it was a large indoor area with big populations fighting. Now they take a good amount of damage at close range fighting with other MAXs, and infantry have enough time to potentially survive after shooting a rocket at them if they run. I think the big NC MAX nerf was very good.
I haven't gotten to play since MAX abilities came out, so I can't say anything about the new VS ones.

Sony has a couple games they use SC for
wait until one of them has a 2x sale, then wait for the thing you want to go on sale in-game
instead of a 1000 cert gun being $7.00, it turns into $1.75, which is definitely worth the time
Squad drop pods could actually work. each member gets a little prompt that they can f1(accept) or f2(decline) the pod, and the squad leader aims the pod as it falls.
[del]There were squad drop pods in beta, it didn't work so well because an active squad was pretty much invincible even with a cooldown. At least with beacons you can destroy it and as long as the SL isn't in the area other members can't deploy on him.[/del]
Oh, dropping an entire squad at once in a single pod. What would be the point, you can already have everyone deploy on Squad Leader at the same time. There's also Galaxies, which are a lot cooler and allow dropping anywhere anyway.
