what are you talking about, the TR equivalent IS the striker, and the Vanu equivalent is the charge up laser shit
The lancer and striker can't shoot at stuff hiding around corners.

The Striker actually can hit stuff from behind cover, so long as you locked-on before they went behind cover. The lock lasts long enough to fire a full magazine. The rockets will avoid terrain and hit whatever they were locked onto with a pretty good hit rate.
Though sometimes the missiles will freak out fire out of the gun sideways, straight into a wall.
The Striker has a slim chance at doing that, provided its target started out in the open.

It's very iffy about when it wants to target stuff though, especially considering the lock time and that you have to keep on target even after you fire.

I've killed people so many times because of that :v:

The Striker's lock-on time is shorter than the Annihilator's and it's entirely fire-and-forget.
It's fire and forget?
Even though this game's been out for a while, spawning a tank and watching it automatically drive over 6 teammates still makes me panic.
It's fire and forget?
Oh yeah, it always has been since the patch right after the ESRLs got added, you can even test it in VR and it will do it.
The lancer and striker can't shoot at stuff hiding around corners.
and the pheonix isn't hitscan and it doesn't have a 5 round magazine and it can't lock on
Even though this game's been out for a while, spawning a tank and watching it automatically drive over 6 teammates still makes me panic.
They really need to change where when you spawn a vehicle it just spawns on top of the vehicle pad. None of this automatic drive forward for 5 seconds nonsense. On Saerro Listening Post on Esamir, one of the vehicle terminals causes you to hit a building when you spawn a building as a result of this. I'm pretty sure there are plenty of other bases where you driving forward and you can't stop is a bad idea.
and the pheonix isn't hitscan and it doesn't have a 5 round magazine and it can't lock on
it doesn't need to lock on, you control it.
Are we really going to go forumside and cry about the ESRLs? They're all decent in their specific fields and they all come with major drawbacks when used in other fields, the end.
it doesn't need to lock on, you control it.
i think you're missing the point, they all have their pros
Just now Buzzcut decided to message me saying "God you're so bad" after killing me with marauder spam as I exited our spawn. What a guy

Didn't he get banned or something?
The Phoenix has the maneuverability of a bus and about 7.14 seconds flight time at 42 m/s, at which point the rocket simply vanishes. You basically have a max range of about 300 meters assuming you don't turn at all. With a speed of 42 m/s, you can almost outrun the damn thing. The reload speed is 5.2 seconds, and the weapon doesn't start reloading until the missile detonates, disappears, or you press the E key to exit camera control, which totals to about 12 seconds between each shot at max range or about 7.5 seconds at 100m. If you do exit control early, the rocket will continue on it's path, however, it will then start to drop (at an fairly high rate) and will still disappear after the 7.14 seconds. Not many realize this, but you are also able to shoot the Phoenix missiles mid-flight even with basic infantry weapons, causing them to deflect in a random direction.
The only real benefits of the phoenix over the others is the 750 damage (with no fall-off) (Won't kill an ESF, but will set it on fire) in comparison to the Striker's 500/5 shots and the Lancer's (charged) 550 damage (falling off at 400m down to 330 damage at 500m), and the ability to manually control it in mid-flight, both of which making it good against unsuspecting vehicles.
The Phoenix is actually pretty limited in how well it can be used. If you know someone has a Phoenix, it can actually be pretty easy to avoid it.
A small note:
Math says it should last 7.14 seconds with the labeled stats of 42 m/s but a timer says about 7.5 seconds which would mean the phoenix has a velocity of 40m/s instead of the labeled 42m/s.
Honestly, I think the Vanu got the best one. Even though it needs to be charged, with a projectile of speed of 600m/s it's kind of hard to miss.
That new uppercut shotgun model make it in yet?

I once spawned one and drove over a bunch of teamates AND an enemy mine.
There were no survivors.
I wonder, how well would this game run once I change my computer's hardware up a bit. I don't have anything amazing by far. but I want to know if I can at least play it on low
8GB DDR3 1333 ram [upping to 12GB or maybe 16GB on Monday]
Athlon II X3 450 [upgrading to Phenom II X4 965 Black Edition on Monday as well]
GTX 650 [non TI, unfortunately :(]
I think that may be all the important specs, so yeah.
Any ideas?

I want to see two outfits from two different factions get together with revolvers in a biolab and have a good old fashioned western shootout.

I have a Phenom II X4 965 Black Edition and I generally get 20 fps in the biggest of fights. (Although this is with maxed out settings as I don't notice a big increase when lowering them.) So yes you will be able to play it but won't be too playable in huge fights.
Gah, it's so frustrating when your CPU is bottlenecking your FPS. changing graphic options does jack shit to your FPS, unlike when your GPU is lacking, then you can just crank down a bunch of shit and it'll most likely run better.
Good thing the only thing bottlenecking PS2 for me is my Radeon 6770.
Do they seriously not have any sort of Optimization that makes sense yet?
So, I just started yesterday, aaaaaand I'm guessing most people have fps problems?
The game is woefully unoptimized. Just turn the settings low.
I think GPU particles are broken again, before the last patch everything was running fine with them on, now with the particles on, if i try to use the medigun my fps drops to like 4

For me they were never in a state that could be considered usable in the first place. The particles would move all jittery and slow but the actual FPS was fine. It's a shame because vehicle wrecks look a million times better with it on.
