I'm in The Enclave and I don't really give a shit about BCP leaving - I haven't been involved in Ops in months - there's so many people in ops that you basically never get kills unless you're at the very front or in an absolutely massive battle, and you'd basically be redeploying every five or ten minutes. But the problem is that there has been a significant drop in TR population, which was already low. Yesterday it was 40+% VS, NC at ~30-40%, and TR at 20% - all day long. Something needs to be done about the outrageous population figures on Mattherson, because VS always have the highest population due to 4th factions flocking there for their ridiculous ZOE MAXes and Sarons. Empires need to either be locked (preventing logging in, or at least going to certain continents) or receive negative penalties when overpopped - like a player on a continent where his empire has 40% of the pop receiving 25-50% LESS XP.
Reading that Reddit thread in response to Higby made me remember how incomplete this game still is, it's almost been a year and still no new continents and the three-ways are still terrible, at least in PS1 you could just go somewhere else if that happened (It happened almost everytime someone attacked Cyssor) but in PS2 there is no escape.
So some people call the lasher an Area denail weapon. This makes it utterly fucking useless as people can just stick their head out and kill you before taking any amount of damage that would cause them concern. Bonus points if it's some wanker popping his head out to spam dumbfire so he kills you in a split second.
I had a really awesome fight with TAS last night on amerish. Our outfit (BRB Uninstalling) were capturing one of the small outposts to the western edge of the map about a fully squad in size, when we slowly started to get resistence from the NC who were all TAS, and also about a squad or two in size. The fight had to of lasted about 30 minutes, it was back and forth, we lost several sundies, many beacons, and at several points we were about 5 seconds away from territory capture before we'd lose the point. It was really intense and fun, felt like some kind of scrimmage or something. Eventually we won, they never found our backup sundy a small hike away from the base so we were still able to get in and try to re-secure some things when we happened to all get killed off along with our primary spawns. [editline]21st June 2013[/editline] Also I really hope before they add lattice to amerish/esamir they improve the current lattice play As a small outfit that doesn't like to just constantly have their dicks in the big battles, playing indar during primetime currently sucks because thats literally the only option - zerg on zerg fights. Which can be fun but it doesn't suit our outfit playstyle. So we ususally play a lot on esamir and amerish during prime time hours as we have much more fun engagments and a much wider variety of options to strategically attack or reinforce (a current favorite tactic of ours is "firefighting" where we focus on defense and drop in on contested territories nobody cares about being capture by a few small enemy groups). They really need to bring back towers from PS1 (places that you could capture without link or adjacency and provided basic spawns), optional objectives within territories that didn't require just adding to the meatgrinder for point A, etc. Currently the most we can do on indar as a small outfit is fly behind enemy lines, hack their terms and pull buses to flank. Which helps, but there is only so many times you can do that before it starts getting a little repetitive for small groups.
Right, I slowly worked my way towards 1000 certs, what are some TR essentials? Some of the NS weaponry looks really good too
If you play medic, the TAR is pretty good in my experience. Looks cool, and performs very well in Close/mid range. It's only 250 certs as well.
Had great fun as infiltrator last night, on one of the outposts that leads into a base and it has one of those platform launchers (shoots you into the base from outside). Well Vanu held it by sitting at the launcher, shooting people as they catapult onto the platform. Go Infiltrator as NC, cloak and strafe so I land behind them near some walls. Then I hide and snipe them as they group up on the platform (probably 10-20 of them there). In all the chaos of others jumping in and getting shot, they think it's someone off platform, so a few venture to the edge and look. I pop them in the head, earning 3 medals, ribbon and ranking up twice in the process. Must have taken atleast 50 of them out over a 2 life period, which led to a zerg push from the front while I sniped from behind. Ended up taking it, was epic. Also bought a £100 Station cash voucher for £15 on eBay. YES!
I just thought of something about Planetside lore. If soldiers really can't die, would war be such a terrible and horrific thing? I would assume the mindsets of the soldiers would be similar to someone playing paintball or airsoft or even a video game, since there is no real fear of death.

Yay finally have flares for my Reaver. Now I need the breaker pods... 246 certs to go
I once saw a reaver pilot who used his momentum to fly BACKWARDS.
I once saw a reaver pilot who used his momentum to fly BACKWARDS.
You talking about vacuuming or what ever it's called? Every ESF can do that.
I once saw a reaver pilot who used his momentum to fly BACKWARDS.
That's called the Reverse Manuever, it's quite easy to do, just lower your throttle, aim straight up, wait for your thrusters to go into VTOL mode, hit the AB and pitch down, I do it all the time.
Is anyone else finding the game crashtacular after GU11? I never used to crash but now I'm getting one every hour or two.
Are there any decent medic assault rifles for TR that aren't balls expensive? I want something that can perform well out at long distances without being unusable close up.
Are there any decent medic assault rifles for TR that aren't balls expensive? Sniper-rifle accuracy, fast bullets, dual-shot burst and semi-auto, advanced foregrip. Kills in like 3-4 headshots and headshots are piss easy because the gun has effectively no recoil.
I want a La Cucaracha horn for my harasser.
I run with a mercy and an onslaught on my MAX. IT gives me some longer range and it practically never stops firing.

NS-11A imo is the best gun for a TR medic right now, its a jack-of-all-trades weapon and can usually dominate both up close and at medium ranges, while being ok at long range. Not to mention the fast reload time, respectable mag size, and very controllable/predictable recoil and its fantastic for a medic that isn't always going to have backup, and will need to be self reliant from time to time. I use it with a 2x scope, compensator, foregrip, and soft-point ammo. Oh, and if you get it, any of your other characters also get it.
HS/NV scope was not ruined by the update. So i can still destroy my enemies!
SOE knew that people used NV only to spot infantry because it was never dark enough to be useful So what did they do? Make it not highlight infantry and make it even worse when it gets slightly darker than usual
I wish nights were dark enough to warrant the use of flashlights.
I don't get why they don't make nights darker again already. Everyone wants it and it isn't hard for them to do.
I don't get why they don't make nights darker again already. Everyone wants it and it isn't hard for them to do.
It's because their coding sucks and the blacker something is the more invisible it becomes.
I don't get why they don't make nights darker again already. Everyone wants it and it isn't hard for them to do.
They still haven't fixed the gamma issue where people just get free night-vision by turning their screen brightness up. Another reason is that the VS were close to invisible at night during beta, while NC were as easy to spot as they are in current nights.
It's bloody 1000 certs though Is there anything just as good, but cheaper?
TAR is the best your going to get for 'cheap', or try the SABR-13. TR really doesn't do stability, it does large mags and rate of fire. Which is ironic considering the other two factions have matched TR almost identically in that regard.
