Is it just me or does it seem like they fucked up the faction identity hard? All of the factions seem the same except with different colors, honestly. All of the weapons seem to handle the same barring a few, there are too many common cool vehicles and not enough empire specific ones, it just doesn't feel like any faction is terribly different from the others, aside from art style. It was one of the things that attracted me to the game, but it just kinda didn't work out at all.
Yeah they really did. It didn't help that their original ideas for faction identity kind of conflicted with each other. For example, NC weapons were supposed to be "Slow firing and high recoil but hard hitting, ideal for getting up close and personal" and TR "High fire rate and low recoil but less damage per shot, great for ranged engagements", but in reality NC's hard hitting was better at long range, and TR's high fire rate was better for close to mid. Then as they started adding more weapons faction identity just went out the window.

The TR's high capacity SMG shoots slower than its NC and VS counterparts and this makes me so mad
And the GD7F is faster than any TR carbine.
Is there somewhere where one can see how long maintenance times are?

Apparently that gun is timed and will dissapear on sunday, requires three hits to kill and you get the title 'Pyro' if you manage to get 50 kills with it.

It lasts for 3 days and you don't have to pay for it, and you can get an Auraxiam medal with it, that's right motherfuckers, 200 certs for killing 1000 people with a flare gun.
I really wish the firework gun wasn't timed because it could make an awesome squad leader tool or decoy device.

rooting out problems that nobody knows exist is a LOT more time consuming than slapping together a primitive model and making a simple script to emit particles
really you can make that on a couple of coffee breaks if you've the slightest idea about what you're doing

They're probably just trying to grind for the title. I decided that it wasn't worth it when I realised how hard it is to even land a hit with the thing, let alone enough to kill some one. Also the fact that I'm not going to waste certs (or spend money) on it.

black camo is coming with battle islands, infantry lumifiber release date isn't really known.

Christ, I hate the VS armor. At least on TR and NC you can still a lot of the faction colors. The only faction colors that show on VS armor with camo is some teal on the boots and on the thin VS sigil on their chest. It's ridiculous.
What happened to the color scheme from the beta and PS1? Purple and teal. Now it's purplish black with tiny teal stripes.

Pretty much yeah. I've been using the shemagh recently though, that plus NS-15M/Commissioner/Decimator gets me more friendly fire than anything from the enemy outside of 10 meters.

I'm pretty sure they overreacted to the fact that we were super-visible before. You have to remember, up until the cosmetic pass our camo just didn't apply to the armor at all, so no matter what we went with there was always big splotches of purple and comically huge green things everywhere. Even the most ostentatious camos you could find looked stupid because they didn't cover anything (I'd use Urban Forest as an example but I didn't own it before the cosmetic redo):

They probably just decided to set almost everything to use camo textures because it would be easier than splitting up those giant solid-color bits. I mean, this is a game where half the "helmets" are a new face model hovering in front of the standard infantry helmet model, if they wouldn't take the time to make paid cosmetics consistent they're sure as hell not doing it with the freebies. That's also the best explanation for why the now-uncovered bits are contiguous object faces.
Personally, I don't think showing more faction color is good, because it begs the question of why you're wearing camo to begin with. Between the radar/spotting mechanic and colorblind people playing the game you really can't say the big colored "SHOOT HERE" splotches are necessary for identifying people, and it murders the game visually. The TR and NC look downright cartoony if they don't have composite armor.

T-Ray said that passes will be done on NC and TR to increase camo coverage for them as well. He's just taking his sweet time with it is all.
