Pudge is unreliable the higher the opponents skill goes but he has redeeming qualities like massive damage and ability to be useful even at higher skill games.

zeus is a good hero with insane burst damage who requires strong positioning and mana management to play effectively, if you think he's a pubstomper then take a looksie at this table:

tbh apparently I play zeus rather well and all I do is mash my Q and W keys in the middle of fights and somehow get kills and win
he's not a pubstomper, he's just really easy to play.
well yeah, he still has a 55% winrate in normal because he shits on baddies (as does anyone with good burst damage) but he has a pretty high skill ceiling so he can transition well through the brackets
I really think that if zeus gets buffed to have a slightly better time in lane, you'd see him as a very niche pick
Decent str growth for a supportcaster, great sort of aeo burst, an ability so he doesn't completely fall off late game
But the thing he needs most of all is an updated model

Zeus just needs a friend with crowd control and can instagib anyone
Also Zeus helping out someone who needs burst damage in the mid game like a Bounty Hunter is fucking painful
I think if you get someone to waste silence on, and ban main silencers, (skywrath is very dangerous,drow, dp, silencer)
You can use zeus in competitive. As mid. Level one bottle.
