Does anyone know how to quickly edit province owners that isnt incredibly tedious? Any method besides the console one please.
Console method is more or less the only way. There is the HoI3 position editor but you're not able to use it for saves.
In what game? Doy, nevermind. Does the Clausewitz engine editor not work for HOI3? And by that I mean this one.
actually snip
Also, how often do the Hashashin actually last until their historic time (~1250) for everybody else? They usually always get crushed within 5 years of their existence on my end.
Funny I say that... This was the first game I've played in months and, surprise surprise, the Hashashin end up conquering the Kingdom of Jerusalem and gaining control of Masyaf as they should.

Greater East Asia Co-Prosperity Sphere completed. Alright game, too many regency councils/Russians.
I have now moved West in my playthroughs to the Petty Kingdom of Mercia. Managed to fight back the Norse hordes with some luck (and Jew gold) and have now formed the Kingdom of England. I didn't expect the British Isles to be this fun.
God dammit Paradox, I totally agree with the levies nerf but at least make sure that event troops and rebels are toned down as well.
I don't think nerfing would be the right approach since this actually gives some degree of threat to rebellions compared to what they were like before, it actually makes mercenaries worthwhile to hire on a regular basis. I'm playing king-tier so I don't know if the same can be said for count/duke so perhaps scaling would be a good idea there if that doesn't already happen.

But yeah they're still somewhat manageable, unlike these goddamn event troops. The Magyars shouldn't be a superpower with reformed Tengriism and a holy order 34 years into the game. [editline]25th November 2013[/editline] Also I was playing as a Jew so I couldn't even take loans to hire mercenaries when I needed them.
Ironic isn't it lol
Formed the Empire of Britannia, planning a big ole invasion of Ireland to conquer the thing in one go. I've got a loser son who I hate so much I switched the succession laws to Ultimogeniture since I like 'em young. Issue is my youngest son died so technically the loser son is now both my eldest and youngest. Divorced my wife and got a new one, she gave me a daughter and died during childbirth so I have to hunt for yet another wife. I'm 45 years old so I've only got like a 5 year window between getting a wife and having a son if I want to educate it properly. If my new wife gives me a daughter I'm divorcing her as well. I am become Henry VIII. You hear me Wiglaf? I'd rather go through a half-dozen women than let your sorry ass have the diadem.
There really needs to be a way to switch sides during a civil war. There are times when I don't care who wins so long as we stop killing other Englishmen and deal with the forty thousand cheese-stinking Frenchmen gobbling up land in Normandy.
Well this is interesting
I'm playing as the Latin Empire and the Teutons did that to me too, though I was able to take back Constantinople before they stole everything else. [editline]25th November 2013[/editline] Oh is there a way to change titles for cultures relatively easily? I never liked having English Dukes and would rather make them Earls, then make Count-Tier lords Barons, and just make Baron-Tier lords X of Y
The SMWH mod does that, taking a peak at their localisation files should let you know how to go about doing it as they did. I don't think there is any other way than that, unfortunately.

Localisation files.
So I decided to try and make the Normans actually come in 867 because I never see the English appear in my games. I figured this would keep things closer to the real world, excusing the horrid AI fuck ups that obviously happen. Problem is, I managed to accidentally kill the Orthodox. One of my sons became Emperor of Byzantium (didn't elect him as heir) and somehow managed to stay in long enough to convert a significant sum of the lords to the Pope's side. Now the only Orthodox lord left is an Iconoclast in Serbja.
I love when the Holy Roman Emperor is black.
Aztecs were just elected Emperor in an MP game I was in.
Ireland get. Also got a son before my guy croaked at the tender age of 51, the Emperor's only 3. Even so he managed to conquer Brittany and go on a successful crusade against Hungary (which I gained and promptly independence'd) before Scotland, Wales and Ireland realized now might be a good time to rebel. Beat their sorry asses and took their crowns. Loser son was poised to inherit the Kingdom of Wales, but I gave that to a random Duchess. He's now languishing in the ass-end of Ireland. Everything was so perfect for this character; got a bangin' Genius wife, both young, fully conquered Isles, the works. Was content to sitting on my fingers and waiting for my Chancellor to pump out enough claims on Normandy to take it from the frogs. My character died at 21 while leading troops against a religious uprising. Fuckin' Lollards. Good news is he had a Genius/Attractive daughter as an heir. Everyone was extremely cool with her, and I didn't get as much as a peep from my vassals by the time she came of age. She's definitely going to be the start of my eugenics program (I still need to find a way to get claims on Denmark/Sweden/Norway so I can form the North Sea Empire.) What the hell kind of name is Wulfflæd for a girl, anyway.
So I started at the 1066 start and mostly concentrated on the Scandanavian Region, about 20 years later I decide to check on Western Europe. First thing I noticed was Harold was still king, I was like 'Ok, William must have failed'. Then I look at France, and there is William, King. He also moved the Capital to Normandy.
I've rarely ever seen the Capets survive in 1066. Usually the Duke of Burgundy takes the throne and murders Phillip
This post is 6 days old, but not everyone visits the forums http://forum.paradoxplaza.com/forum/showthread.php?736049-Crusader-Kings-II-Steam-and-GG-Versions-The-Future They going to stop supporting the GG version of the game and give everyone Steam keys for anything they bought for CK2 on there. [editline]26th November 2013[/editline] Also, if you're a fan of steam don't read that thread. So much hate and misunderstanding.
The only real thing that I can see realistically being upset about is the autoupdating, though paradox enables you to download the previous patch in the beat menu, so it's kind of subverted. Just since you know, breaks mods.

Well you can simply launch it without Steam.
That isn't necessarily ideal though. Whether or not it is still a thing, I had an issue where when I launched CKII without Steam none of my DLC would be present no matter what was checked in the launcher and I heard other people having the same problem.
Started as Tiny Brunei in IV, 2 hundred years later we control southern Asia Trade routes, and we are now known as Malaya. I missed these games.
Also, if you're a fan of steam don't read that thread. So much hate and misunderstanding.
I don't even view Steam as DRM. The hatred for it thats prevalent on Paradox is a bit strange. It was worst when Divine Wind was coming out.
Man surviving as Northumbria is fucking impossible, the goddamn Vikings get forty thousand men
What is the actual hardest country to start with in IV? I want to give it a try.
