Can I get some suggestions as to what to do in CK2? I've formed every empire from scratch and played most interesting characters on the bookmarks so now I'm at a loss of what to do.
Play a Christian count in Persia.

Sure glad Republic's were nerfed, it came to the point where I could take on The HRE, ERE and French at the same time. I even installed my son as the Emperor making the Empie a Republic for a while [it fell apart on his death]. If you've done "everything", try conquering the world.
Already done that, was a great big Muslamic Empire.
Personally, I'm waiting for Elder Kings to come out, I just want to watch how terrible the world will get.

With half the canon breaking shit that happens in the A Game of Thrones mod I don't know if I'd be able to handle Elder Kings.
WHY IS THE KING OF SKYRIM A BOSMER HELP

Little update on my French game: I finally managed to get China into the war, they practically marched all the way to Manchuria unopposed. Then Xibei San Ma entered on the Axis side, forcing them to draw some attention back to deal with them, so the offense has grinded down almost completely. The Soviets have made little ground. The only noteworthy gain they achieve was completely overrun Sakhalin.

The French 8éme Corps secured the Okinawa islands. Two naval battles raged on near it, with minimal losses (I lost a Light Cruiser iirc), they also lost a carrier and a heavy cruiser in the second battle, with some destroyers and transports sunk in the aftermath.

On Scout1's suggesttion, I decided to kick off a bombing campaign of Korea. Partly to support the Soviets and also because I plan to soften them up for when I invade Korea. It had disastrous results. Japanese Zeroes stationed in and around Korea intercepted bombers with deadly precision. In some cases, entire squadrons of seasoned pilots were snuffed out in a matter of hours. It will be a while before they're fully capable of continuing any more air operations.
Also, speaking of bombers, I get B-47 Stratojets from the USA.

SOON.

Argonian family inherits a county in Morrowind. Next day all of Dunmer lords invade.

Cultural cockups are actually considerably harder to do in TEK because some races are scripted to not mix with other races in order to stop abominations from happening.
I'm more interested in seeing how Akavir plays out.
I'm more interested in seeing how Akavir plays out.
They could implement it in a kind of Aztec Invasion way, with an Akaviri invasion occuring randomly at some point during the game. The GoT mod has a similar event with the Summer Islanders invading.

Well, the Akaviri's last invasion kind of flopped, and the Akaviri Potentate's family got butchered by the Morag Tong, probably demoralizing the relatives on the other side of the pond which are still relatively weak at the start date than they were when the invasions started. I'm guessing that the best concept for a Mongol-esque invading Akaviri force would be a buff event that's related to a formation of a Greater Akavir Empire that grants them Mongol-ish unit stats and invasion casus belli's on all Tamriel lands.
They've already got a fully realised chunk of Akavir off to the side, last time I checked I don't think there was any sort of scripted invasions or anything
I had it with this shit.

The only concept I like about EU4 is the trade nodes system. I dislike the casual approach they went with, like monarch points and that junk.
Anyone know when Japan will declare war on the USA in HOI3?
Aren't they scripted to do Pearl Harbor most of the time? I was playing Australia and they did it even though I was working my way through the Pacific with the French at my back.
Pearl Harbor is a decision for them
[editline]27th March 2013[/editline]
Which they fire after they go to war
Aren't they scripted to do Pearl Harbor most of the time? Scout played all the way through Jan 42 and nothing happened.
I can't remember the criteria for Pearl Harbor, I think one of them was the US has to be neutral but don't quote me on that.

Ohh crap, I was setting up air missions when I completely forgot about 1948 and air/naval missions not working past that. I may have to discontinute my HoI3 game because of that, if that ends up being the case. I did some looking around on some well-dated posts on the Paradox forum that say they'll still work, hopefully.
In actual game news; UK is invading Japan in Australia, Manchuria front is finally starting to stabilize, Saudi Arabia is being eaten alive, and Xibi forces are falling back on Sino-French pressure on the Eastern front.

i don't think the monarch points are really "casual". infact, i think the opposite because there is now more strategy involved with how you advance your nation rather than "oh i'll invest in trade tech and send my 3/3/3 king to die and hope i roll a better one".
also calling out the eu series on becoming casual is silly since it's arguably been the most casual of the paradox lineup anyways

Although before CK2, it has been the most casual amongst it's sister titles, so yes.
Also as it turns out even if you do edit the HOI3 end date via defines.lua it still ends at 1948. This is so gay, I guess that's that.
are you playing Their Finest Hour? you need to edit the defines files under the /tfh/ folder
are you playing Their Finest Hour? you need to edit the defines files under the /tfh/ folder
Turns out that was the case, thanks!

i wanna play the game to decide but i don't think accessibility is necessarily casualization. hoi3 made a lot of things more accessible versus hoi2 and that game is way more in depth than its predecessor.

yup you need a mod i think.
[editline]27th March 2013[/editline]
that's the way it was with hoi2 as well. it's sorta weird.
yeah I keep forgetting that folder is there and I accidentally install mods into the base mod folder, then I get confused when they don't launch.
Okay does anyone know how to use CAGs

You would think that with a 7:3 advantage, the latest fighter bomber techs and doctrines I would be molesting japan especially given my land-based fighters shredded their CAG. But my own CAGs just ineffectually bomb the enemy fleet then my own fleet is raped by their 0-30% str CAGs with 0 organization. What the fuck. Please help.

April 23rd, under the cover of dual naval air support, 80, 000 Frenchmen stormed the beaches of the sleepy port city of Mokpo. The invasion of Korea has begun.

Out of desperation, the IJN sent two heavy cruisers in a attempt to buy time for inland divisions to organize a proper defense. Within a few hours of both navies slugging it out, both Imperial cruisers were sent to the bottom of the sea at the cost of a destroyer squadron. A few days later the Imperial navy tried for a second time with a larger taskforce again, this time with three carriers and an light cruiser squadron. Again the same result as the prior engagement.

After a week of brutal fighting, alas heavy losses, the assault on Mokpo was finally over. But the Japanese stubbornly renewed their efforts with their carrier taskforce supported by battleships and heavy cruiser squadrons. The Japanese attack was rebuffed with moderate losses.

The reminder of the battered fleet limped back to the Korean island of Saishu. French bombers tracked them down and delivered the coup de grace before returning back to Okinawa airbase, leaving behind only a scene of smoldering wreck and the stench of death.
Pusan and it's strategic port was "liberated" by May 16th. With that, the French war machine rumbled up the peninsula unopposed, securing Pyongyang and surrounding regions less than a few weeks later. Port Arthur was also stormed by U.S. marines around this time, along with a good thrust into Manchuria by China.
SO APPARENTLY if the enemy has any CAGs at all my CAGs instantly become 0% effective whilst their 10% str, 0 org CAGs can bomb the everloving shit out of my fleet carriers.

how high is your stacking penalty?

nvm im an idiot you got it right there
Japs have better doctrines and tech, that's why.
Japs have better doctrines and tech, that's why.
Mine are '42. I really doubt Japan has '44 tech researched in '42.
What country should I play for my first real HOI3 game? I tried playing the game earlier and it was a mess. Any tips for a first playthrough?
