You know it. I already sinked 800 hours into the game now, lol.
This is what happens if you don't export the HRE with Maximum Crown Authority.

My EU4 keeps crashing and I don't want to lose my save, everytime I re-load any save now after 2 days the game crashs to desktop. help?
So I'm doing a 100% Hands off CK2-EU4 game starting at 1066 and ending in 1821
CK2 will use all the DLC except Sunset Invasion. No mods. Same with EU4.
Already did CK2, here is how it looks at the beginning of EU4 Interesting to note, Byzatium and Rafiqids (Egypt) are in the Western Techgroup.

Story time kids
So I started an Old Gods ironman campaign as Haesteinn of Nantes, which looked attractive both as a pagan and independent single county lord. I took and kept all titles to lands so I have no vassals and I can have the absolute maximum amount of men to be raised in wartime. I imprisoned my wife so I wouldn't get any more children because of gavelkind law and the nature of my campaign (holding all titles as my own demesne). I claimed Scotland and sailed up around 4,000 ish men and took it over. They probably had 1k men and they called half of the British isles in to help so that was annoying. Haesteinn had an insane martial ability (29) though so he was great at battles and could command lots of men. After taking Scotland I moved on to Ireland. First took over Ulster, Tyrone and Oriel (the 3 closest to the crossing point) but having to re-raise my armies to be able to declare war was annoying so after taking those three I declared war on the entirety of Ireland except for Dublin (still in Sudreyjar's hands). It was pretty easy since each count could only raise roughly 4-800 men. After Ireland was subjugated I then had to deal with 4 subsequent attacking lords and peasant rebellions. My maximum unit draw was 34K, but it hovered around 8-11K because them being drained from war. In the span of a year I probably fought off about 25K men in rebellions. It did get stable after the 4th peasant rebellion however. I took a few months to regain unit strength to prepare for invading Wessex. Once I took Middlesex, I'd move my capital there, then move out against the rest of the Norsemen in England with Subjugation CB. Eventually I'd be Emperor of Britannia. Or at least, that was the plan.
Around this time my wife had died in her mid-20s in prison so I felt I should remarry so I could get more levels added to me, mainly stewardship and martial ability since I'm nearly bankrupt relying on demesne armies as opposed to vassal levies. Of course, I forget to imprison her after marrying and I have another goddamn kid. Shortly after his birth and my realization I know I have to deal with him. I imprison my wife but when I went to my kid, because Paradox is idiotic I can't plot against him so I have to imprison him. Instead of executing I accidentally banished him. He went to a holding in Northern Sweden, which is completely out of my reach and I can't assassinate him because I'm in the red from gathering about 11K men to move in on Wessex. I assemble my armies in mid-Jylland and then split them up to besiege different holdings. Wessex only had about 1.5K to resist me so I slaughtered them like cattle. During this while I was explaining my campaign to a friend, and I noticed that my leader was 56 years old. I made a joke about how old he was and when I unpaused to go back into my conquest,he fucking died right then. I screamed at my computer irl because now I'm fucked. Because of the joys of gavelkind succession, most of my land is now gone. My heir was 12 years old, and my little brother is 1. Because I'm not of age, I can't plot to kill him which would be the easy solution since if he died I'd get all of my land/armies back. My regents all have pretty poor martial ability and that combined with losing my land, knocked my maximum capability from 34K to mid 9K, and my raisable men is half of that. Basically my army went from 12Kish to 4.5Kish. Now all my plans are dead in the water because of this little shit. Our lands are basically right next to each other. He can raise at most about 2.2K. Because I can't plot or afford to assassinate him, my only option is go to war to reclaim my territory and then kill the fuck out of him when I get him.
Little bro, I'm coming for you

How I am now
I did an Ironman as Nantes before. I got bored before 1066 because I already had all of Britannia and France under my rule and no one challenged me despite being a massive heretic and having all of Britannia under said heresy. Also most of England converted to Norman so becoming English would be pointless.
Man it's tough getting off the ground as a count-tier Zoroastrian.

You should edit some of the provinces in Iberia, looks like a modern art piece now. Create some balance there, kind of an Islam vs Catholic situation.
The luck of the Irish is true I guess, I get war declared on me by the Scots to become their vassal and they send out a 3k man army to my provinces, suddenly one of my vassals revolts in Dublin and has a 800 man army come out. Stupidly I attack over a river and lose the battle to the scots. So as I ride around picking off small pockets of them I suddenly get an event of old veterans that are loyal to my faction banding together and I get a 3k man stack in my capital and some sort of weird Irish Joan of Arc equivalent.

Pretty strange for England to not be unified after nearly 100 years, usually happens quite quickly for me
So, has anyone else had the Umayyads decide to convert to Judaism and the Byzantines to Zoroastrianism before?
So, has anyone else had the Umayyads decide to convert to Judaism and the Byzantines to Zoroastrianism before?
WHAT HAVE YOU DONE YOU OPENED THE GATE TO HELL AND SHIT RARAR
Well granted I had a hand in turning the Byzantines Zoroastrian since I took over a province that had the heir in it and forced the count to convert (since Zoroastrian Persia stronk) and murdered the emperor, but the Umayyads just decided to convert to Judaism on their own. Certainly made it easier to wipe out Islam and Orthodox Christianity.
I've also managed to take control of my holy order so I can donate 300 gold to myself for 300 piety. :v:
if any of you want CK2 and haven't bought it yet, I have a 50% off steam coupon. first to pm me gets it
Just asking here since Paradox published it, but is Supreme Ruler 2020/Cold War/1936 any good?

You just reminded me of something I witnessed a few days ago.

Had a revolt as the Roman Empire in CK2 (I owned pretty much all of Italy, the Arabian Empire and half of Hispania at the time) where 5 or so vassals revolted. Suddenly, they got 120,000 event troops out of their asses, more than I had myself. Pretty broken, if you ask me. Not to mention like 20 local "Liberation wars" every 3 years. Seriously.

That first one, new desktop background.
"And what do you want for Christmas? Well that's a shame, you get the same thing as everyone else, death by firing squad"
I like starting as some random duke in HRE in CK2 It makes becoming the Emperor a bit more meaningful, especially if you did it as a young girl during decade long empire-wide civil war.
Being the emperor of the HRE gives me a splitting headache
CKII is just turning into Faction War Simulator 2012 for me now
I think you need to check your Date and Time Settings
I think you need to check your Date and Time Settings
Well, CK2 did come out in 2012.

Zoroastrians are like pandas in my Roman save; they're quirky and cute but there's not enough of them, and try as I might to keep them alive they just don't understand how reproduction works.
Also had a pretty interesting bit tonight. Was doing another Haesteinn play, except this time I wanted to stay in Francia. I took over Brittany fairly easily and quickly, then I started slowly assimilating West Francia's territories until I owned everything North of the Loire until Paris, with my city of Chartes bordering it. Most of it was acquired during civil wars in France where'd I pounce upon the exposed duchies. Due to truce times this took longer than I'd like. I had a son at this time who was doing pretty well. Again due to gavelkind I imprisoned my wife so I would have one heir, and she eventually died in prison. I found one character, who was 3 years younger than my son with the Quick trait. It took a while (15 years haha) but they both came of age and married. When I was 66 years old (!), my heir, 20 years old died! At this point I started panicking. After about 7 hours into this game I've already put in a fair bit of effort and time into this. This is also an ironman so I can't cheat. My Haesteinn was quick, so I wanted to find a wife who was quick or genius also. Luckily I found the only one, she was 17 years old, and the funny thing is, that she was my son's wife. So I got a 66 year old maimed badass conqueror banging his teenage daughter in law. Kinky shit huh? Luckily I got Lustful and she got pregnant and gave birth to a son (fuck yes). My kingdom was saved, and as a celebration, I subjugated almost the entirety of Frisia from Denmark, which was a pushover except for having to deal with two rebellions in my home provinces. My son is also quick (woot) so that's good. Its likely that he's going to have a long regency since Haesteinn is now 72 years old and won't last much longer I fear.
A quick update on my Jewmayyad/Byzoroastrian game, I've managed to install a Zoroastrian ruler in Italy and am currently trying to help keep them in power, so hopefully Italy will soon be Zoroastrian, and I've managed to conquer Rome and am trying to convert it to Zoroastrianism.
A reformed Norse Cornwall is also dominating England and is converting it steadily from Catholicism. In short, eat shit Catholicism.
