Elder Kings is the only time I've seen a minimap with different colours depending on terrain, I love it
I've currently been playing with CK2+ and trying to play conservatively starting out as a random count. I got the count of Lecce and barely managed to survive death by invading my Muslim neighbor as the HRE was intent on taking the rest of their Sicilian duchy. After near 100 years I'm king of Sicily, but I've yet to take Beneveto and Lecce back.
How does EK work with the newest version of CK2? I haven't played in a while and as far as I can tell it hasn't been updated in a while.

I get this problem with Elder Kings where right after I choose a character and start, a random event will pop up and after you click a choice to the event, a bunch of event boxes will appear with nothing written on them at all so you cant make them go away.This makes it unable to play because the game will forever be paused till you get rid of the b oxes.

So I bought CKII when it was on sale last month and I've been trying hard to learn how to be a good king. After a practice run in Ireland in which I started as the Earl of Dublin and then united all of Ireland under his grandson, I decided to try ironman mode as the King of Denmark. I figured since the previous game was fairly tame as far as the AI went, I didn't have much to fear out of my neighbors. Unfortunately, Norway shifted straight into beast mode at the beginning of the game and still hasn't stopped kicking ass. It started when I got a call to arms event over a dispute between the King of Norway and the King of England, which ended with all of England plus Normandy falling into the Norwegian king's hands, followed by a huge campaign of asskickery in Sweden/Finland which eventually resulted in Sweden getting conquered as well, and the territory east of that falling into allied hands as the greater kingdom of Estonia. I've checked the royal family of Estonia- the current ruler is female and has only one sibling, a sister, and both are married to Norwegian princes (and not matrilinearly either.) And here I am still trying to fabricate a claim on that little pagan hunk of coastline to my south.
Joining as a Duke in Kiev in CKII is a nightmare beyond belief, it's so horribly unstable.

The downsides however is that the Hindoos have been eradicated in India by the Moslems, and the HRE formed.

Does someone know if SWMH+PB works well with the CK2-EU4 converter or should I just stick with PB?

I mean by the end of CK2 the whole europe can be pretty much yours, and there will be no challenge in EU4 after that... All the converted games i've seen, everyone had a huge blob that covered at least half of europe.

The rebel mechanics in CK2 at least piss me off, early game they're deadly Total levies I can draw: ~3-4k Peasant rebel army: ~10k game over It really just comes down to how much spawn. If I can get established, they're still annoying when some shit like "8th Briton Peasant Rebellion for Brittany" happens. I've destroyed you 7 times already, why are you still doing this?

There was a fledgling, Maritime Welsh empire with provinces all over the world in one of my observer games that I converted. They went from like 20 provinces to 4 or 5. After doing two of them (still working on one), I can assure you that no two mega campaigns will ever play out the same. And besides, the histories these tend to have are just pretty damn cool. As long as you don't expand like fuck, and give the AI a chance to, there will always be some sort of challenge for you to face.

I swear my HOI3 games are getting more and more broken. Today for example, its 1940 june and the Spanish Civil war is still going on. What's even more funny is that it's telling me that i can invite Portugal and Nationalist Spain into the Axis but when i do they just dont accept... In another game, i took over France and somehow, it just wasn't in the allies anymore yet GB etc... all declared war on me when i attacked Poland. I dont know what happened but it wasnt showing France in the allies and i gained every single of it's overseas provinces and everything...

I decided to attempt playing an extended timeline mod. Started at like 850 or something, this was the world by the start date for Vanilla EU4. I've been playing as Spain, that rather large blob in the middle east is Abbasid, who has yet to be stopped from expanding, regardless of coalitions. I formed Spain out of the Umayyads so I'm a Muslim nation, as is all of Italy. Its a pretty entertaining game, however core creating and advisors are broken.
