Any of you guys want to get an EUIV game going tomorrow for the expansion?
I gotta say the randomly generated terrain looks awful graphically.
Even more 1.4 info, this time Interface Improvements. http://forum.paradoxplaza.com/forum/showthread.php?747160-1.4-Interface-Improvement
I gotta say the randomly generated terrain looks awful graphically.
Yeah I'm really not convinced by the random new world. I'll probably end up buying the expansion at -75% for the other features.
The random terrain is not the main feature. It is only $13.49 USD right now. it will be 14.99 when it releases.

That's not really worth 13.50€ to me.
Someone screwed up. It is on Steam's new release list, but if you go got the store page it says 'coming soon' (With no countdown) and Pre-order options. [editline]14th January 2014[/editline] Ah according to one of the devs it won't be out for another 3 hours (7 CET). So usual steam release time. It popping up early must have been an error on Steam's part.
CK2 DLC to be announced next week http://forum.paradoxplaza.com/forum/showthread.php?747191-Halfway-through-January-DLC-announcement-coming&p=16706416&viewfull=1#post16706416

1.4 is out!
Now to wait for CoP [editline]14th January 2014[/editline] Should be *soon* http://forum.paradoxplaza.com/forum/showthread.php?747253-Conquest-of-Paradise-release-time&p=16708411&viewfull=1#post16708411
We wanted you to get the patch and expansion at the same time, just need to check in with steam to see when it releases
[editline]14th January 2014[/editline] CoP is live!
What's in CoP that's not in the patch?
What's in CoP that's not in the patch?
Random new world, native american mechanics (migration, etc,) and playing as a colony.
Can't wait to see what the new CK2 DLC is Any speculation/leaks?
Can't wait to see what the new CK2 DLC is Any speculation/leaks?
Playable Theocracies?? If only.
Victoria 2's war system is like, really annoying. You can't open it, see what battles happened, how many people died, etc. Really fucking costly wars after wars in the 20th century, I want to check how many people died before declaring peace, oh no, cant.
Can't wait to see what the new CK2 DLC is Any speculation/leaks?
They've hinted at a more roleplay-focused DLC iirc.
Awesome! Been looking for some weird roleplay stuff. You can really only the base game for so long
I can see them adding stuff like becoming a knight, serving holy orders as all religions, more flavor events etc. A DLC pack focused on love and chivalry would be pretty neat for RPing [editline]14th January 2014[/editline] Come to think of it a bunch of events for just daily ruler life would be pretty neat "This man has been convicted of murder, imprison or execute?" "Your steward has drawn up plans for a new irrigation system would you like to implement them?" "Who will you send your son to squire for in his knight training?" "Two women vie for your attention, picking one over another pisses off their family" etc etc etc

Conquest of Paradise (the new DLC for EU4) is at least decent. It's kind of fun to play around as a colonial-heavy nation and basically make North America your bitch. Hell, my save games from pre-CoP are still working, mods and all.
Using the tool. since the 20th century started and it's about, 1925, the great war starting in 1901, the second one in 1920. About 17.3 million war casualties in 20 years from the ones ive been involved in somewhat, that's not my casualties. There's been a lot of wars that are almost great wars, but I found that a war could turn into a great war after a while, it's weird. Like, there's a lot of wars with just immense losses and fought between several great powers, but they're not great wars. About 34 million total casualties from wars in these 25 years alone. That's just combatants, imagine it with naval casualties, + civilian ones.
Great the new patch Cripples my economy and makes colonizing America useless unless you move your capital there. THANKS PARADOX
There was this one general, Victor van Pallandt. He would have these just fucking terrible odds and somehow always win the battles. 110k vs 60k, he'd lose 35k while inflicting 95k on them. Another battle had it with him having 54k, enemy having 104k, He lost 7.3k troops, they lost 83k. Victor van Pallandt is just fucking awesome. He always gets the job done with barely any troops lost, while they have a lot of casualties. My standard loadout for stacks is in 30k ones. With 1 Hussar, 4 regulars, 1 engineer, 1 curisare, and 3 artillery. For ferrying them across the ocean, I use 60k sized taskforces of two stacks. My First great war battle plan was kind of fucking odd. So I moved my guys in several fleets, one going northern Europe, the other going south. What I did was I sent 60k guys south, and then would constantly send more guys to northern Europe from across the sea, engaging in battles, crossing behind the enemy trenches, battling if the odds look good, digging in when necessary, then linking them up, and having them flank around each other and demolish stacks of enemies.
Great the new patch Cripples my economy and makes colonizing America useless unless you move your capital there. THANKS PARADOX
Tariffs?
More stuff to speculate about: http://forum.paradoxplaza.com/forum/forumdisplay.php?843-Project-Nero http://forum.paradoxplaza.com/forum/forumdisplay.php?844-Project-Armstrong
It isn't mod compatible, though. Not last I checked, anyway.
I had a friend recently tell me the same thing when he used it, so yeah you're likely very right about that.
Tariffs?
Fuck all money from it and you also have a liberty desire which increases exponentially, the idea you waste on colonialism might as well be put into trade, which has since become more lucrative than a colony.
It isn't mod compatible, though. Not last I checked, anyway.
It is, but modded countries appear as their country tag (e.g: ENG or GER) and their flags are invisible. Otherwise it works fine.
