Rome II seems likely unless they want to go like CKII into roman era(unlikely).
But it might be a trick considering they have said like 100x times that ROME II would not be profitable.
Armstrong is a complete mystery to me though, it might be space related considering the name unless they want to make a tycoon about drugging with athelets.
Fun to see 2 new games though, along with East vs West!
Armstrong is probably going to be space, when of the pictures they released during their 12 days of Christmas tumblr thing was a picture of space, there was a space station and some debris.
I think that CK: Rome is more likely than EU: Rome 2. Maybe one of them will be HoI 4 or Victoria 3?

I don't know how I should feel about a Paradox game set in space.
Depends if it's Paradox Dev or third party published.

The studio head said the same about Victoria 2, and look how that went.
I played EU: Rome today and really enjoyed it. I'd personally love to see a more up-to-date version of it.
Anybody want a coupon for 50% off CKII?
I wish they'd stop bothering with CK2 and make Victoria 3 or better yet HOI4 as that game could have so much potential...
Yeah, I'm betting Nero is likely going to be HoI4, seeing HoI3 is almost as old as EU3 now.
I want to believe it'll be Rome 2 but Paradox devs repeatedly stated a sequel will never happen in the foreseeable future, would be very surprised if it does turn out to be in development though.
They cracked down on Vassal feeding and made colonies unprofitable in Eu4. Great.

EvW and a new HOI, I couldn't be happier! I hope they ditch the shitty province system for 4 though.
I just wish EvW wasn't on the HOI3 engine.

The province system was one of the more intresting parts of HOI3.
Never got into HOI2 because the big provinces lack the depth required in management of your army movements for a WW2 game.
Also a hint for Nero
'There will be fire & darkness.'
And a hint for Armstrong
'We will have ships!'
World war 1 was primarily fought on the British end to scuttle the German ambition for a grand fleet.
One of the teaser images was of space, and a space station. There is something spacey coming.
Now I cannot find it. But it was on their tumblr.
I like these colonial sates because now there's a difference between European provinces and colonies. I've always thought it was weird for some Mexican colonies to be considered a core part of Spain on the same level as actual mainland Spain for example. I wish they'd add colonial regions in the other part of the world though, or at least the uncolonised ones.
Also I was so happy to see they got rid of the stupid Arabic culture names like "Al-Misr Arabic". I actually had a personal minimod to change that because it annoyed me so much.
I don't think Africa, Asia and Australia have colonial states because they were mainly colonised towards the very end of the EU4 time period, though I suppose they could add them in a later patch to let the alt-history people have their fun.
I really hope the lack of extension of the colonial system into Africa and Asia is because the next expansion will be about colonial/trade company mechanics to replicate the Dutch/British East India Companies and their like.
here's hoping dynamic trade routes but id imagine that'd be difficult to program and balance
some other things which bothers me about this game:
better trade league function because its bland right now
fix the claim system because its useless
and Germany is useless now when Hannover exists, and I don't even know why the fuck it does exist. we don't need these many Germanic nations and this is coming from a Germanophone
There is already a mod that adds new colonial areas to India and Africa, and the Philippines

also whats up with the BS western europe trade node???
The British Isles get such a dumb advantage from that.
yeah and fuck england, dumb smug island
come fight me with an army and not with your ships and see what happens
Just go the Dutch way and invade England.
that is what I always do as a Netherlands, I go like 'fuck u brits' invade them and annex England making Wales a Vassal.

Yeah but in game they always end up being colonised pretty quickly. It would be nice if they weren't though. I'd like it if Paradox made Africa more difficult and less profitable to colonise.

I think it's there to allow trade to flow from anywhere in America to anywhere in Europe. So you don't end up having all your trade going straight to England if you colonised Canada as Spain for example.
In EU2 they used to have this thing where climate contributed to population growth. Stability affected population growth as well.
In most of Africa, the climate was in such a way so that population growth was negative unless you had 3+ stability. This meant you had to keep sending colonists there to boost the population up to 1000 (although the modifier still remained, so the population remained stuck at 1000 unless you build a few buildings and got it up to about 2% growth).
Native attacks were also commonplace (5000 to 10,000 natives were common) with very high aggressiveness and ferocity in most of Africa. Made colonizing difficult. The AI generally avoided colonizing Africa, although they did set up trading posts. (There's a second colonial thing where you could send a colonist to a province to build a trading post. 6 colonists had to be sent to upgrade it to a full sized trading post from which you got all of the trading value, a port, but no ability to recruit soldiers, barely any taxation income, and the population did not grow. You had to send a 7th colonist to begin turning it into a colony.)
Colonizing Africa shouldn't be so easy.

Pointless. Victoria II deals with that period
Alright.
None of the 2 new Paradox games are Rome II.
We have said it several times.. WE ARE NOT ANNOUNCING ROME2..
-another quote about sengoku and rome no seqeuls because of spin-off-
Rome sold far more though, and will eventually get a sequel. Just not now.
Hint 2# for Armstrong
'There will be a rocket on a loading screen.'
Hint 2# for Nero
'Is this a troll attempt ?'
Aw shucks. Rome 2 would be really cool.
