Also the classical "Ming Europe" from my old megacampaign. I still wonder how they reached Finland so fast.

Currently trying to invade Hispania to restore Visgothia. Since unreformed Norse is such a horrid way to go about this I converted to Islam to use their OP invasions. So now, my current king is Sunni, his wife is Catholic, and their son is Norse. Family get-togethers must be awkward.
So I took a few more provinces and the only annex options are still full annex and annex Berry. What the fuck. If this is some sort of bug I might just find out what the penalties would be if I demanded an annex and give them to myself and use the console to change the province ownership.

Just recently I was stopped from releasing the Byzantine Empire from the Ottoman's due to Venice controlling one of their cores.
I colonized a piece of land Russia didn't bother to. It went from a population of 4,000 to 210,000 in two months.
How is Vicky 1?
How is Vicky 1?
It's different in several interesting way, some of which I like more than Vicky 2, but then it has several features I'm not too fond of. I like some aspects of the economy (national stockpile, social and political reforms cost money to implement, military system is better in some ways, etc). The nice thing about wars in Vicky 1 is that having railways or naval ships on the coast nearby grants bonuses. Best of all is probably the music. [editline]9th February 2014[/editline] Also that provinces population I talked about earlier increased to 2.7 million by 1881.
I've only had control of Aquatine for 40 years, but the entire populace is almost Norman now. Wish I invaded France so they would've also turned.
Help. My China game is going out of control. It's 1893 and the population has grown to a staggering 760 million. Unemployment is rife as infrastructure cannot be upgraded in time to soak up excess jobs. Population growth keeps increasing and my "colonies" are full of millions of Chinese people. I have to keep buying more and more land just to find places to dump unemployed people. Worldwide I produce so much coal, iron, grain, etc that farms nearly everywhere else are in a great deal of impoverishment. My capitalists refuse to build anything and industrialization is still nowhere near completed.
Soon the communist revolution will begin.
Wait. You have nearly a billion people in just that small coast line?
No, I have 6 million people living in Sakhalin now. [editline]9th February 2014[/editline] For the love of god help.
Can you mass conscript people like you could in 2? If so why not raise some up and throw them in a desert?

In EU4, do any of you name your colonies? or do you just keep the default? I try to name them, using google translate if I'm not playing as England, so they probably come out all wrong, but still I like personalizing them. Sometimes I keep them themed to history, like I'll name the Eastern United States "New *Country" in their language if possible. The Philippines will be named after the current Monarch.
once in EU3 I played as the papal states and renamed as many provinces as I could to their Roman (Latin) names

Playing as a unified Maghreb, any former-Islamic province I conquer is renamed appropriately and all my colonies are an attempt to properly name things (including the provinces within the colonies themselves).
I'm too lazy to rename all the individual provinces, I just stick with Colony names.
It's getting worse. It's 1911 and the population is now 1.1 billion. I've conquered Afghanistan and within months millions of Chinamen overran the country and made it an integral part of the country. 20 million people emigrate a year but the population is still growing exponentially. Farmers are pushing onto marginal lands to squeeze out more food from the soil, but prices are rising. The capitalists cannot buy anything despite 0% taxes and me getting the techs which improve their bonus. I've had to go on costly infrastructural improvement projects to try and squeeze out more resources, and despite astronomical improvements in production (I produce 800 units of coal a day, when 20 is considered normal for the USA in about 1850) the demand for coal is 2500 units a day worldwide (when the world barely produces 1100). China is literally bursting apart at the seams. H E L P
I kind of want to play Poland in HOI 3 (kind of easy in EU4 with the union at the start with Lithuania), but I don't want to be a stinking Jew.... what do?
Try make alliance with the soviet union or join the comintern. Also build forts in all your border provinces.
Is it possible to ally as Germany, while playing the Jews?
christ what did you do?
China is just too big. Her capitalist classes are unable to assist nascent industrialization, the countryside is slowly becoming overpopulated, and far too little is being produced to meet demand.

Also, you should extend the end date just so things can get even crazier.
There is literally no way you can stop Germany. Well it's really hard.
Even if you manage to lose, you can still build up a resistance network and continue fighting by disrupting their supply lines and tying up units once Germany gets around to Barbarossa.
Is it possible to ally as Germany, while playing the Jews?
Could be, I think it'd be difficult to do by normal means since Germany has cores on you and whatnot (things like threats and stuff), so it might only be possibly doable by coups or gamey means like CGM or modding your save.
MY SCANDINAVIAN MEGA-CAMPAIGN SHIT [thumb]http://i.imgur.com/G6rrG03.jpg[/thumb] This is the end of my long lasting Scandinavia campaign for CK2. I started as the king of Sweden (House Stenkiling) in the Alexiad start and made my way conquering Norway and Denmark using both military and marriage. I set house rules to myself that I wouldn't go about conquering the world, but instead do my best to preserve Europe from the foreign invaders, which I succeded in doing. As I am sure most CK2 players can account for, towards the end of the game it get's a bit dull, you want to play a new dynasty, and do new conquests, so I decided to end it at 1341. This is before the invasion of the Timurids, which I planned to create in EU4. Important things to notice on the map is: * The Mongols (Ilkhanate) p much owns the entirety of Arabia, with the exception of what is to be Oman in EU4 (south-eastern Arabia). I have decided, akin to the Jalairids and other Ilkhanate break off states historically, to break up the Ilkhanatan(?) Empire for narrative & balance reasons. Their Eurasian provinces are going to the Uzbeks and Golden Horde with the arguement that they couldn't possibly support the tribes up there while their capital and main focus is in Arabia, thus they succumbed to eastern and western invasions. The same goes for their scarce Persian holdings which are going to Ghaznavid Persia. The compensation for those retractions are that they pretty much take all of the minor arabian independant duchies in Arabia. * Eurasia ... is a fucking mess, as usual. Ruthenia managed to impressively to preserve their independence despite Lithuanian ambitions, so they will be renamed to Ukraine. Rus will be renamed to Russia. Golden Horde takes most of western Ilkhanate Eurasia, and Uzbeks Eastern. Mordvins and Perm falls under the control of Ukraine and Russia. * Europe is not going to get some minor border movements , the only real change being the treatment of Croatia and Hungary (Hungary has a Croatian king mind you, which heir is the Croatian King, wtf.) * Iberia will be more like traditional Iberia from vanilla EU4 since the AI is terrible at any other Iberia :v: (Granada will be larger though, so they will have a BIT of a chance at this time around, ie not SO impossible) * Africa is going to get a new nation were the "Barghawiosigvjrfjhgghju" are. [thumb]http://i.imgur.com/dhZ2yWT.jpg[/thumb] This is the end result, the only changes are in Europe for now, I am still thinking of a-historical shit that went on in Asia (and America? Prff) MAJOR CHANGES: The addition of 3 new custom countries: The Croatian-Hungarian Duel-Monarchy. Croatia held immense political influence in the baltic throughout my entire game, they conquered Hungary, the rest of the Balkans and went far into Eurasia. Shortly prior to the conversion they lost Hungary to gavelkind, but they would inherit that anyways if I had continued. Even though it looks strong, it's a fragile union. If it looses Hungary as a subject nation it will loose Serbia and Moldavia as well, all with their respective cultures in the provinces of their culture present. And with enemies looking hungrily all around they will be subject to much violence (including that they're a part of the Protestant bloc when that fires). The Boroghulids What I was talking about when I mentioned the Ilkhanate succession state earlier. The prospect of a Steppe Horde settling in Arabia is an interesting one to say the least, but I would also have to take into account the immense political instabillity of such a foreign people invading the Middle East, so throughout their game they will have some problems maintaining their foothold in Arabia, time will tell I guess. The Maghreb Basically I wanted something else than MORROCO plastered across the screen down there, and since they've owned the region a long time I decided to create a new nation for them. Tripoli is their vassal so that they will create an interesting opposing power to the already mighty Boroghulids. Other changes: Ghaznavid Persia got pretty much all of the Ilkhanate lands in Persia, but they're being invaded by the Timurids as the game start. Vali Persia is the sucessor to the Seljuks which fell to a Persian revolt in my CK2 game, they retreated into the lands of the Rum Sultanate and are looking to reunify Persia by annilihating the Ghazanvids. What remains of Rum is in the northern part of Vali Persia, Turkey, a 2 minor province Beylerbeylik. Shameful changes: Sibir is independent for balance reasons, so is Kazan. HRE got major changes from its conversion which I sort of regret but what can you do. _________________________________________________
I kinda like it, at least it looks better than EU4's anyway. My only gripe is the "BRITAIN BRITAIN BRITAIN" stuff again.
Wish they went back to the "British India" stuff, but they're only taking advice from the Pdox players who insist that they NEED to have the name of their country plastered across the screen everywhere. [editline]11th February 2014[/editline]
manchu best eu4 nation im just gonna go full military ideas this game and adminstrative (to stack the manchu tradition of -15% with another -33% or -25% core creation cost cant remember what it is) as well as economics so i get +40% production efficiency (chinaware is OP for production) probably just gonna storm west and stimulate a mongol wave
Oirat Horde is the most fun I've had in that region, though the game is on hiatus because of a sudden peasant war :v:
