is government in exile usual in HoI3? i presume i still get there IC although i have taken denmark. poland lithuania and czechoslovakia and it hasnt gone up
Sometimes GiE will occur, sometimes they won't. You do get the IC but the amount you get depends on what you have your occupation policies set to. Lax policies will give you less IC, but less rebels, and harsher ones will give you a greater percentage of IC/etc but at the higher potential of rebel dissent.
Victoria II is on sale right now, should I give in to my temptation and buy it?
Yes. It is probably my favorite Paradox game (although that is mostly because it is the only one I have been able to play without getting my ass kicked). My only problem with it is that demanding peace is a pain in the ass because infamy skyrockets and barely goes down, so big territorial expansions (which was kind of "the thing" of the Victorian Era with all the Imperialism) are almost impossible. It helps when you are attacking an uncivilized nation, but still.
Been playing a ton of EU IV with my friend, japan is a real bitch to conquer. Also what the hell is up with peasant wars? those things near ruined me twice when my stability and etc was fine.
I'd say CK2 is easier to get into initially
Eu4 is much easier to get into initially.
The AI always seems to get some kind of performance anxiety when they're my ally. In all my EUIV games, no matter how powerful my Ally is, they always end up getting themselves (and me) into more trouble than it's worth. In my current game as Scotland I've been doing pretty well... I've been quick to colonise North America and my alliance with France was keeping England focused elsewhere. Then they get involved in 2 massive coalition wars, England declares war for Gascogne, invades Scotland first, and despite having the largest army in the world, France is getting their shit kicked in. Is being allied to the player a curse or something?

So long as Romania doesn't pull in any allies (which it appears they don't have) you'll be ok with that. Don't lose an inch to the damned Prussians.

Don't lose an inch to the damned Prussians.
The Mali war isn't a problem because the British fleet is non-existant and I have complete naval control of the seas. I can't drop out of the Polish war though because Russia doesn't want white peace and hasn't added any war goals so they won't accept anything. But the Russian and Austrian armies shouldn't really be a major problem because I smashed them up extremely bad around 10 years ago. (Austria had 0 military score and Russia had 19. They dropped off the great power list and haven't worked their way back up because of that. Of course that went both ways though, I used to be number 1 in military power) It's just that Prussia has a super mega death army and is going to fuck me hard.
So, yesterday I finished my first Victoria 2 game as Sokoto. I've managed to civilize it and reach rank #38, which was quite nice despite playing on the lowest difficulty.
[t]http://i.imgur.com/GCKVCzD.jpg[/t] I managed to turn back the tide of Prussian armies, now I just have to take back the occupied Rhineland. The 4 wars have only lasted 10 months yet there has already been 1.5 million casualties and that number is going to keep getting bigger as I continue the war in the south and push back into the Rhineland. Also I am convinced I have managed to bug the shit out of my money because it is still going at +1623 even while mobilized. I also managed to get Sweden to join on my side of the war. [t]http://i.imgur.com/8AbG4mp.jpg[/t] Turkey please stop ruining my warscore. [t]http://i.imgur.com/0WgnomH.jpg[/t][t]http://i.imgur.com/LPz9NQX.jpg[/t] [t]http://i.imgur.com/K9D5ay3.jpg[/t][t]http://i.imgur.com/3L4T51d.jpg[/t] EUROPE AINT SHIT. (Meanwhile casualties are now at 3,520,752.)
There's a difficulty setting in V2?
The options menu I believe.
There's a difficulty setting in V2?
There is, in Game settings.
What map mod is that, Eli?
What map mod is that, Eli?
Untransparent map mod. [t]http://i.imgur.com/OsOWwxp.jpg[/t] UK AINT SHIT. 4,441,292 casualties for all of the wars. That was probably one of the craziest series of wars I have ever fought.
Should have demanded Ireland from them.
is there a fast way to reorganise your troops? i have about 6 corps mushed into one massive totally useless stack
is there a fast way to reorganise your troops? i have about 6 corps mushed into one massive totally useless stack
Assuming you're talking about HOI3 (and not VIC2/EU games), the OOB manager (the outliner thing that shows up on the left part of the screen when you have a unit selected) can come in handy here, might not be the quickest way of doing it though. What I like to do is stack all the individuals corps and their divisions around a army HQ and organize them in a way like that.
East vs West is gone for good http://forum.paradoxplaza.com/forum/showthread.php?760477-A-joint-statement-from-BL-Logic-and-Paradox-Interactive!
Welp, didn't see that coming. Edit: Actually I totally did, but seeing as they teased our collective cocks with open betas and stuff I believed that something was gonna happen.
According to a Small FAQ added to the first page, it mostly has to do with Steam not allowing them to distribute the Beta in its current form and it would cost too much money and resources to release it any other way http://forum.paradoxplaza.com/forum/showthread.php?760477-A-joint-statement-from-BL-Logic-and-Paradox-Interactive!&p=17020512&viewfull=1#post17020512
- Why not release what you got as an open beta as said before? : This is because Steam will not let us release it in it's current state, and it would cost a lot of money and time to re-write it to be distributed outside of Steam.

According to a Small FAQ added to the first page, it mostly has to do with Steam not allowing them to distribute the Beta in its current form and it would cost too much money and resources to release it any other way
True, but everyone knows Valve doesn't allow what PI wanted to do. Isn't it a bit of foresight to first check if the distribution platform of choice allows what you want to do with it before writing a game to only support it? Ah well.
Wow, this sucks so much. I really was looking forward for EvW.
Why cant they just release the source code and the stuff they've been working on so far?
Why cant they just release the source code and the stuff they've been working on so far?
That require releasing the Engine code as well which paradox will not allow. [editline]6th March 2014[/editline] From the FAQ
- Why not release the game to be finished by the community? : Releasing the source code would mean releasing the source code for Clausewitz. And I hope you understand why this is not something we could do.
[editline]6th March 2014[/editline] Bjorn edited his FAQ post to clarify the Steam part
- Why not release what you got as an open beta as said before? : This is because Steam can't release it in it's current state, and it would cost a lot of money and time to re-write it to be distributed outside of Steam.
So it wasn't because steam wouldn't allow it, it is because they could not release it? Can't used to have 'let us' after it.
Ugh... I really wanted a cold war game because it would be super fun to play as a smaller nation playing with the 2 super powers.
Not surprised, really. [editline]6th March 2014[/editline] The game was having such a rickety development, most of the features that people wanted weren't brought in (flag changing) and the game went into hiatus time and time again.

East Vs West in beta is more advanced then most other shit. They let 7 days to die on Steam, and countless other fucking things! But you want to have an actual reasonable beta? NOPE.
