the Converter works fine as long as you're not using SWMH.
I'm aware, I just wish they would bother to update it.
Even CK2+ custom cultures convert over into EUIV without issues.

Also, the motherfucking French king declared war on me while I was on crusade.
Well that did happen to good old Richard the Lionhearted. The penalties are basically just prestige/piety hits upon declaration.
How do I war good in EUIV
The enemy always has allies who zerg rush me from all sides
I need some help. What would be the best HoI for me? I only have the general information about the series, but not about specific games. I'm not stupid, but at the same time I never was a hardcore strategy player, and would prefer a more streamlined interface and casual gameplay to complex management. Speaking in HoI terms, that is. I only played CK2 and Vic2 before. Hearts of Iron captured my attention because 20th century and apparently it's super complex.

What are the reasons people dislike/don't prefer HoI 3 all over the internet apparently?
What are the reasons people dislike/don't prefer HoI 3 all over the internet apparently?
I can't really speak for everyone (I love HOI3 to death) but I think one of the main reasons people complain about HoI3 is because how micromanagey it is, and the learning curve seems intimidating to some.
I just feel that Darkest Hour feels more fluid than Hearts of Iron 3. It's difficult, though, since a WW2 game is going to be the same regardless, but I think that Darkest Hour just has way more PODs than Hearts of Iron 3.
I think one of the worst things is that it just doesn't support Alternate history which makes all the other games so fun.

Historical Plausibility Project gives it a minor boost to alternate history, and it has a lot of fun events.
[editline]1st April 2014[/editline]
Also it has events that clamp down on resource overload. Like, if you get a shitton of coal, you get a "Coal Storage Issues" event that slows down your production for a period of time until you start to go negative.
Hoi3 with all expansions is good, HPP makes it really good.
DH has a lot more mods and is also very very good.
My recommendation is to buy both. DH is very cheap during sales.

How long will it take for Paradox to release a fucking hotfix for Rajas of India? It's been a week already.
It's not 1999 anymore guys, and your game is on Steam. You can make 1000 patches if you want to; you don't need to hold back fixes to release them as a single patch.

As the Alans I conquered all of Tartaria, and now my dynasty has inherited Byzantium. Should I work to merge the titles or should I keep Byzantium separate?
Oh, and one point I got the demon spawn event, but I died and since it's elective my heir just married her. She was a pretty good spymaster.

Is that the Teutonic Order with actual land? And a lot of it? In CK2?

Sweden was very generous in donating their Finnish territory to them. I'm not sure if the AI was actually attempting to create a buffer state between them and the Finns or if it was just trying to earn some piety.
So I'm in my first ironman game, playing as Sicily. Doing pretty well for like 40 years, and suddenly out of the blue my wife executes me? How the fuck can she execute me? I wasn't her prisoner, and if she was conspiring to kill me I don't think it'd say execute.
*) Not actually available on release. Thank god.
Fortunately, it will be a day two dlc.
I prefer the first HoI, its quick and dirty, history can fall to bits quite quickly (Its where I started out too). HoI II, I dislike a bit, (and DH), its not as aesthetically pleasing in my eye and the tech teams are a bit iffy. HoI III's quite rewarding after waging a massive offensive but the scale can get quite tedious in its aftermath.

That's why you always need a safe word.

How do I get those nifty unit counter boxes things featured in all of the screenshots? I get either unit sprites or these things:
[img_thumb]http://puu.sh/7T0ww.png[/img_thumb]
I installed the official graphics pack but they still look like that. Game is Darkest Hour.
[editline]more dicks[/editline]
Fixed it. For a random guy with the same problem that will stumble on this post from google search or something: You also need to turn on the counters in the in game menu, that's accessible only from actual gameplay, not main menu.
I really want that cat CK2 joke dlc

It really depends, I'm playing as the British and I've somehow managed to get Republican Spain on my side without intervening in their war (they're now allied), Romania is in the allies, Belgium is independent and neutral, etc...
I'm not entirely sure what I did to mix things up like this.

I've had france leave the allies once for some reason when i attacked in '39. Also once the civil war just didnt want to end and was still going in '41.

Were countries still intervening in the war up to that point?
