What Vicky mod is that?
Victoria Ultimate I believe.
Is it good?
From what I've heard it's a pretty good mod.
Let's you play from starts in 1604 to 2023 without end date.
There are also new units such as fighter squadrons, submarines, carriers, bomber squadrons etc.
You can use WMD once you researched the technology.
And there are tornadoes, hurricanes, very rare "mega disasters" for example a massive earthquake or asteroid collisions that can have effect on your nation.
From what I can tell it's pretty goofy but fun nonetheless.
Mod is fun as hell
I wish I had the expansions to actually run it.
Oh well, by the time I will buy them, the mod will probably have been more developed.

I'd recommend any of the pre-1900 start dates, personally.

I think I made the right call.
It feels like everyone plays CK2 and VK2. Why no love for EU4? :(

I think the worst thing in EU4 is that it's nowhere near as event based as CK2 or VK2, which makes it less fun for me at least.
I can't really get into EUIV as much as I can CK2, and I feel bad about that :c

There definitely needs to be WAY more technology, I started a game in 1604 as England and had all of the technology I could (The entire first tier basically, you start with 0 researched) researched by like 1620 and then after that there's 2 that you unlock in 1750, 1 in 1800, and the rest of the tier 2 tech (and all but 1 of the industrialization category) unlocks in 1836.
[editline]10th April 2014[/editline]
Basically there needs to be WAY more than 6 techs per sub-category (I really hope that's not an engine limitation) for the game to be able to stretch 400+ years

The guys who made it said there gonna release way more in the coming updates
I'm sure the issue is just trying to find good balances for adding more tech for the early eras, so there's not just 2 or 3 pinnacle techs that need to be nabbed.
You absolutely need Heart of Darkness for the Ultimate mod for Vic, right?
Holy shit.
Just beat burgundy in a war as a HRE OPM.
(built troops over limit, + 1 stack in every province right after they got crushed by austria)
took provinces/released as vassal for feeding
[editline]11th April 2014[/editline]
and the next best thing? austria released brabant in their burgundy war, allowing me to take that too.
[editline]11th April 2014[/editline]
okay what the shit?
everyone in the HRE has like 100 AE against me, yet only one guy is in a coalition.

It is actually DD3, but they called it 4 because the April Fools one was 3.

Aachen so far...
I have the 4th largest military, with my best ally France being 3rd. (Behind Russia and Ottoman)
[editline]11th April 2014[/editline]
oh, i forgot to mention I also control the curia

Ahh, somehow I can't but feel that they are actually mainstreaming the game.
But damn, I love those icons and the descriptions.

So much disappointment after EvW and this dev diary.
Have coalitions gotten nerfed in EU4?
It used to take getting AE to 0 or relations to +1, but I've been getting people to leave coalitions with less than -100 relations and more than 50 AE
Coalitions have been weird for a while now, I think it was from before Conquest of Paradise came out. They used to be too bullshit but now the mechanic may as well not even exist.
The AI switches from being super passive to being ultra aggressive each patch. They just can't find the balance.

Honestly, HoI is a game that seriously needs to be streamlined.

I think they've kind of got the right idea when it comes to doctrine in that DD, except there needs to be a distinction between tactical and strategy doctrine. Obviously the only tactical part of HoI is individual battles, and I think tactical doctrines such as Infiltration and Human Wave should influence a battle in conjunction with terrain etc.
Whilst I like the idea of there being a penalty for changing doctrines, I think research should be a lot less linear. I don't understand why Deep Battle is under Mass Assault when it is in fact Maneuver Warfare (multiple 'Schwerpunkt' and usage of mobile reserves).

Apparently, that is the "Non-discriminatory conscription tech"
