Does anyone know if we'll be able to convert out HoI saves to EvW?
There's been talks of it, but considering how most of the other converters are still not fully finished, no. Too many variations present imo.
Waiting for Paradox to fix this memory leak issue sucks. Apparently it's a problem in Vanilla as well but it's more prevelant in mods that add a lot of content. [editline]4th April 2013[/editline] If anyone's having lag issues in Elder Kings it's been suggested you try deleting TelvanniRelation.txt in the mod decisions folder. [editline]4th April 2013[/editline] Supposedly saving, quitting and maybe also rebooting steam helps as well.
Elder kings is cool, but my main issue is that it's just really slow. The pacing just isn't that great and guys take too long to get to provinces. But it's first release so I kinda expected some issues.
I personally like the pacing as it means you don't get huge DeJure Empires springing up overnight but I guess it just comes down to personal preference.
Any news on the 1.092 CKII patch autosave fix? My game is completely unplayable :(
The forums seem optimistic Paradox will patch it this week.
Gah, I'm itching for EvW
I found it too easy to make High Rock and expand into Solitude in Elder Kings. I also hate how conquer is set up, the AI will focus more on invading places like Argonia, Elsweyr and Morrowind as opposed to taking areas reasonably near them.

Right I am just USSRing about on HOI3 and I have found this mod that I can invade a country without having to mess about with there neutrality. Every country in the world has me as the number 1 threat. It is 1938, my question is will Germany still invade Czechoslovakia and will the UK still go to war with them?

[editline]4th April 2013[/editline] And I think UK (or SU AFAIK, if France has yet to fall after a certain date) wars them anyway if for some strange reason AI Germany don't do Danzing. Don't quote me on that though.
So that Magni Mundi game is back http://www.reddit.com/r/Games/comments/1bpegq/paradox_community_member_ubik_loses_his_mind/
Sad. Oh because my team, and I did not fix the bugs that were so bad after a long time that paradox decided to cancel my game because they want no more bug ridden games to be sold to costumers, so I am going to say OMG THEY STOLE MY HARD WORK! Pfft.
I find it amazing how Magna Mundi was such a fuckup. Paradox is the company which will publish anything, and has had a history of releasing buggy games. Although their recent titles are becoming much more polished and mainstream upon release, and they are clearly putting decent work into it. MM is hilarious though.

Also according to one of the posts, MM had the same amount funding as CK2. Wow.
How do you release a game so buggy not even Paradox will touch it

Right still USSRing about, its the end of 1939, No one has declared war on Germany yet. I decided to puppet poland, but if I do Germany declares war on poland and me. And there is a lot of them. So I am thinking that I should move all my troops to poland and then get ready to puppet it. Does that sound good or should I just wait for someone else to invade Germany first, they haven't even took Czech yet
Rearrange your frontline plan if possible, the Germans will just blitz through you for most of the war if you just throw regulars against them.
Solution: Militia. Militia stacks that occupy every frontage available. You have reserves.
Multiple lines of defense in Poland, try to stall their offensive giving some ground after fighting but retreat before your units are too disorganised, so they can aid in the following defensive battles, and while you do that, task the VVS with logistical bombardment so you hamper their ability to funnel supplies into your territories. Keep a bunch of high speed units in the rear, and when their offensive starts losing momentum, use that armored reserve to punch a hole through their lines and try to encircle them. By the way, if you manage to do this in winter it's even better, cause they will incur in extra losses & penalties because of the weather. Disclaimer: This plan might or mightn't work. Never tried the URSS, seems to unwieldy for my liking.
Disclaimer: This plan might or mightn't work. Never tried the URSS, seems to unwieldy for my liking.
Reminds me of selecting all USSR land units at once and watching as the game took one age to process the selection list. :v:
Reminds me of selecting all USSR land units at once and watching as the game took one age to process the selection list. :v:
Exactly. In fact, the first time I played HoI III, I wanted to see how magnificent was this new system of raising divisions, hyerarchical HQs, smaller provinces, etc, so I started with the USSR. As soon as I saw all the units, the dependencies between them and their HQs, the maximum effective command range, etc, I felt so overwhelmed, I started hating big nations. Had to do something like 3 or 4 playthroughs with Rep. Spain to accustom myself to this new interface, then I was able to "step up" to the major powers. But the USSR, I still can't play it. Oh boy, it sure left some kind of trauma inside my noggin.
Speaking of USSR, after I'm through with nuking Japan back into the stone age, I'm thinking of redeploying the majority of my fighting force back to Europe in preparation for Operation Unthinkable. Ought to be exciting!

They did this because they're striving to focus on polishing the quality of upcoming games so they are not as buggy at launch.
