I can manage Spain better than most Spanish Kings.

that's not something to be proud of
that's like saying you won a fight against a five year old
Well I let the game go on observe from 867 -.
I ended at 1108. And what did I see?
A Norse, Catholic King of Africa. Who was Karling.
Has anyone tried out the new Supreme Ruler 1936 game? I know SR2020 was a blast and have been meaning to put some time into the new one. It looks pretty enjoyable from what i've seen.

Hold your horses.
Since SR2020, they have made no improvements at all, except the games have some different time periods. I strongly suggest you try it out before buying, it ain't cheap either.
Get the expansions too if you haven't already, otherwise your Vick2 experience will be unpleasant.
I'm having tons of fun playing Vic2 even without them. Since I'm low on cash, I have to wait until the expansions go on a sale.
Jesus christ, I thought the rebels in Victoria 2 were bad.

Yeah, but I really enjoyed SR2020. My main complaint was always how wacky it got into the higher theoretical tech levels and stuff. Throwing it back to 1936 seems like a good idea to me- I'll definitely try it out first though.
I am Pomerania.

What next?
I'm thinking either push east > Kingdom of Poland > Wendish Empire or push south > Kingdom of Germany > Holy Roman Empire
I coup'd the Soviet Union as Nazi Germany, do I win?

I'd say break apart the scandinavian holdings to your north, then take Frisia. Lotharingia and then Germany are your best bets to invade>form.
Should I buy Darkest Hour? I've heard it's unit management is a lot better, and I like the overall look of it.
rate
Agree: buy it
Disagree: no

HoI3 Has:
+ In-depth combat and research
+ Unforgiving but exciting war strategies
+ Abilities for creating gigantic, worldwide fronts with AI support
- Little-to-no alternative history choices
- AI always follows the same path
- No "fun puppets" (I.E People's Republic of Bulgaria rather than just Bulgaria)
Darkest Hour Has:
+ In-depth political challenges
+ Massive choices for nations around the world
+ Tonnes of outcomes/beginnings for WW2
+ A host of interesting events
+ A much simpler research/production system
+ Casualty Counter
- Less engaging combat
Darkest Hour also has a lot more mods, and IMO a nicer map.
I have ratings disabled, so just pretend I voted towards DH.

How? Did you invest everything into espionage?
Yeah, as stated, Darkest Hour has a massive host of entertaining and exciting mods (MixedMod for starters), while Hearts of Iron III is almost required to use mods (HPP/August Storm) to be as entertaining as Darkest Hour, at least in my opinion.
These are some interesting mods.
Communist Germany.
In the 1933 scenario as Germany, you can choose who wins the election, the Communists, the Nazis or stay a Democracy
The Communist and Democratic choices have their own unique events. I think there are new events for the Nazi line as well.

Mixed Mod
This mod is interesting, I'm not sure how to describe it. it is like a mix of different mods, including the above mentioned Communist Germany mod. I'm not sure if it has the latest version of it.
One of my favourite parts is that some countries can change their Flag, and sometimes their Name based on their ideology. Some have fictional names and flags as well. You can make Italy the Roman Empire and you get claims on all former Roman territory.

Fatherland
Inspired by the movie of the same name, where Germany has won WW2 and is in a Cold War with America. It is still WIP.

New World Order 2
This mod focuses mostly on the Cold War period, it has new scenarios, tech events etc. It is meant to be used with the 1945 Scenario included with the mod.

No, just absurdly lucky. There was a 1% chance of success :v:
How could I forget this mod

It links the WW1 Scenario to the WW2 scenario, so you can play from 1914 to the early 60s.

With Mixed Mod you can turn Cuba into Tropico
[t]http://puu.sh/8ZgMz.jpg[/t]
Kaiserreich is the best mod I have ever played for a strategy game.
The amount of things and decisions you can take is just mind numbing. And they just keep expanding it.
Really, would totally recommend to anyone who wants to have a fun time playing
learning the basics as the US

That'll teach those Mexicans to accept letters from the Germans.
So, I watched some of Quill18's videos for EU4 and I've started playing and I've really been enjoying it. I started as Portugal. My only problem is I don't know how to get more money, the tutorial series I watched didn't really go over it I guess.

When you got money and the monarch points to spare, spam buildings everywhere, but I'd prioritize provinces with the highest value too. You don't want to hire every advisor since they'll be more expensive and outweigh their benefits sometimes. As Portugal though all you need to worry about is exploring and colonizing the new world so you can hopefully dominate trade nodes.

Problem I have with EU4 is there's actually not much to spend money on. I always end up with shittons of gold that I can't use because buildings cost power I'd rather use on tech or ideas.
Does anyone else feel that EUIV is far more blob-friendly than EUIII?

Coalitions become way bigger now so I think the AI is less ignorant to blobbing players/AI's.
Coalitions become way bigger now so I think the AI is less ignorant to blobbing players/AI's.
Well, I mean, I constantly see these massive, snaking blobs that tear through Eurasia and straight into Asia proper by the early 1600s.
Like, it's almost every day that I see Holy Roman Empires that stretch from Paris to Irkutsk. Or Najd that controls Gibraltar in the west and Edo in the east.
All of them happening within the first 200 years of the game. And one might say "but coalition", well, coalitions do nothing but pose a minor roadblock. Once someone gets the blob-ball rolling, the coalitions of 2-3 HRE OPMs and maybe Denmark aren't going to stop a monstrous Ottoman blob.
When my copy of Wolfenstein arrives, I'll consider it a sequel to this save.
