Hmm, nothing shows up in the screenshot folder. [editline]24th June 2014[/editline] Nevermind, found them: :D
Ergh, god, EUIV is way too blob easy. Personally it takes all of the "alternate history" out of it, y'know? Takes out the amazingness of actual blobbing. "Oh, you conquered Persia and India as Russia? Congrats, I guess" "Oh, you own all of the North and South American continents as Illiniwek? Seen it" There's no mysticism around players who could pull these stunts. It's just "wait for arbitrary fuckin' MONARCH POINTS to poop out more goodies for myself".
It's far more impressive for a player to remain small in EUIV and CKII than it is to just blob up.
Crusader Kings 2 blobs actually are fun to look at though. They seem fantastical in a good way, and there's tonnes of roleplaying and various events that can make/break your playthrough. EUIV is just...eh
Its much harder to blob in CK2 with all the foreign relation modifiers than EUIV imo
Blobbing in CK2 is very easy if you don't limit yourself, and I'm sure every experienced player would be able to pull a world conquest. However it is extremely tedious, and there is a lot to do in this game besides blobbing.

It's also more interesting to see how you deal with your enemies I.E Mongols when they have 6-8x as many troops as you do.

Seems legit.
See, here's a small comparison of a blob between 2 games. EUIII: - Lots of micromanaging - Borders to keep an eye on - Taxation and production varying throughout - Hard to maintain properly, can be curbstomped by rebels or combined enemies EUIV: - Monarch points rack up quickly, issues are fixed instantaneously - Nobody wants to fight you (unless somehow taking 1 province causes half of Europe to shit itself) - Your income will skyrocket. Regardless. - Maintaining is magically easy as culture, religion and core conversion is near-instant

Those damn rebels especially, early-mid on you can pretty much kiss your entire manpower reserve goodbye from just a few little fights with them.
I bought Darkest Hour. Can you advise me which mods to get, except Kaiserreich, which I'll be getting... probably.. 20 minutes later.
Mixed Mod
BOO at EUIV going on daily deal instead of CK2
Anyone know any mods for vanilla EU4 that changes nothing but religions? Like norse etc [editline]26th June 2014[/editline] I've tried Nox's The Old Gods, but that shit bluescreens my computer
I hope rajas of india goes on sale, even though it doesn't have the base -50% of the summer sale
I find it unlikely ROI will go on sale.
Holy shit Crusader Kings 2 just keep on being amazing to me, and I have almost played that game for 2k hours! I played as an Islamic taifa and went on a Jihad spree all around Iberia, I managed to take over Iberia and was now converting the Iberian Catholics to Sunni Islam. Later on in the game I decided the route for conquest would be the weakened France, which was subject to major revolts at the time. I took over Occitania, and established a foothold in mainland Europe, the greatest Jihad of Islamic history had begun! I managed to win a war against the HRE, and took Burgundy. As a sign of goodwill, I let the vassals keep their land, but only on the condition that they see the light and convert to Islam. I had now created a Islamic Empire in Europe, and was looking forward to destroying the HRE entirely. BUT, D-Day for my country finally came when the Catholic Pope declared a Crusade for the newly acquired Burgundy. Suddenly my Catholic majority in my country started revolting en masse, and my country was attacked from all sides by infidels. The future looked bleak for my empire at this point, and as skilled I am in the ways of CK2 warfare/tactics, I was not sure I would be able to ride this one out alive. Oh, and my ruler also died in the middle of the crusade, leaving me playing as a 11 year old child. But luck was on my side when the HRE decided NOT to join in (even when they had no other wars on their plate) the crusade, and the only ones answering the Pope's call were counts and dukes, and in the end the King of England. In a blaze of glory I managed to siege Rome, smash the rebels, and keep the front lines in the Alps intact. I am not pretending this is a showcase of my skills as a CK2 player, as this was 99% luck, but fuck man it feels good riding out a storm like that. My only loss was Upper Burgundy because the HRE became the classic CK2 personality: "Hey lets beat up on the guy who almost got owned by everyone", though I assassinated the shithead emperor leaving his realm in revolts, and I can field 20k more troops than him so only time will tell when I can take it back. I know this aint special for most of you WC'ing guys, but I am sure we have all had this mutual feeling of "Fuck, I just did something great" followed by "This game is awesome." 1,6 k hours counting, and still not tired of this awesome game. All of the Rebels (There were more but I took a screenshot at the end of the Catholic Crusade): [thumb]http://cloud-3.steampowered.com/ugc/594788129926227054/3EC7E0CC7B846C461A0A3F9C07428F80BC3F4B9D/[/thumb] [editline]27th June 2014[/editline]
Blobbing in CK2 is very easy if you don't limit yourself, and I'm sure every experienced player would be able to pull a world conquest. That foreign stab to relations can be devastating.
fuck yeh ck2 dlc collection 80% off in the flash sale finally
$16 bucks? Finally worth buying. Rajas isn't anything special, is it?
bucks? Finally worth buying. Rajas isn't anything special, is it?
If you're buying CK2 now? No, if you've played CK2 for a while and are looking for new things to do, yeah.
If you're buying CK2 now? No, if you've played CK2 for a while and are looking for new things to do, yeah.
Honestly I'm mostly buying it for the Game of Thrones mod [editline]26th June 2014[/editline] Also HiP looks pretty dope
Just picked up EU4 from the daily a couple of hours ago, and now Crusader Kings II is on sale hhhhnnnnggggg I haven't a clue what the hell I am doing in EU4. I literally just hopped over from Civ and this extra level of complexity is juicy and delicious but overwhelming at the same time :v:

For CK2 I STRONGLY recommend "Arumba" on YT. EU4 I think either Quill18 or NL, Mathas and Arumba's multiplayer LP's. Arumba: https://www.youtube.com/user/arumba07 Northernlion Multiplayer LP in EU4: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yEviau-2Je8 Of course the best teacher is trial and error though. [editline]27th June 2014[/editline] There are links as well in the OP
Now have CK2 in my library and downloaded. I heard about a save converter for CK2 to EU4, but is it any good?
Now have CK2 in my library and downloaded. I heard about a save converter for CK2 to EU4, but is it any good?
It's half-assed but it gets the job done. I recommend doing some modding to the save to fix some things the converter will screw up on.
Is star and crescent worth buying for eu4? I have some money in my steal wallet and it's real cheap at $2
playing as munster i cant seige ormond because they outnumber me and i cant raise levies even though some are available, should i dismiss then reraise?
ffs i missed the ck2 flash sale this is bullshit
[THUMB]http://i.imgur.com/luR6NrL.png[/THUMB] WiF2 is kicking my ass, France has 180 infantry divisions supposedly and I was held up for two months in the Netherlands by French reinforcements being shipped in. Started Fall Gelb on 10th of May and I'm stuck. Any solutions? save here: https://mega.co.nz/#F!nRsVxabA!k3sRmR0HGU83lRmevKHenw [editline]28th June 2014[/editline] and stacking in Darkest Hour really pisses me off, especially when there's like 10 divisions in Gibraltar for example, there should be organisation penalties imo
can a of age female not be given a landed title?
can a of age female not be given a landed title?
Not if you don't have Agnatic-Cognatic. edit: Okay, I was right the first time, think you need Absolute Cognatic which iirc is only accessible if you have that Navarre culture.
