You need Absolute Cognatic to be able to give woman landed titles.
thanks
Man, Darkest Hour is really beating the shit out of me. I'm currently playing Kaiserreich for Darkest Hour as the Qing and holy crap is it hard. I'm fighting against these pathetic warlords and I'm still losing tons of battles and spending whole years on these wars. Also the events for the Qing have seemed to dry up so it's a lot less interesting. Does a decision eventually come up where I can annex the German regions of China or am I going to have to kill them myself?
finally took all the irish counties and formed the kingdom of ireland, will my vassals eventually stop bitching about low crown authority? [editline]28th June 2014[/editline] also the queen of wales is my vassal in dublin, if i kill her husband then marry her to my son (she has good stats) do i get a claim on wales or do they get a claim on me?
[THUMB]http://i.imgur.com/luR6NrL.png[/THUMB] WiF2 is kicking my ass, France has 180 infantry divisions supposedly and I was held up for two months in the Netherlands by French reinforcements being shipped in. Started Fall Gelb on 10th of May and I'm stuck. Any solutions? save here: https://mega.co.nz/#F!nRsVxabA!k3sRmR0HGU83lRmevKHenw [editline]28th June 2014[/editline] and stacking in Darkest Hour really pisses me off, especially when there's like 10 divisions in Gibraltar for example, there should be organisation penalties imo
It's August now and I cleared out the Amsterdam pocket a few weeks ago (in-game) but British Marines landed. Not sure if I should pull back or shorten my width or whatever.

I can't find the event strangely, but it does happen very rarely. I also was curious what the outcome of this would have been IRL, someone wrote a historically accurate write up of what they believe the outcome would have been here if anyone is interested
I've just played Darkest Hour some more with the Kaiserreich mod and I'm just really frustrated with the whole thing. I'll be attacking Japanese armies a quarter of my size with both of us using troops of similar quality and then I'll get a defeat after basically 12 ingame hours even though I've lost less men then they did, usually by a significant margin. Why am I losing these battles, especially considering if I attack immediately after the defeat that I often win?
That vassal-king stab in CK2 is just horrible, but I very much enjoy being able to get a big stack anywhere within the kingdom, question is it worth for an emperor to create king vassals?

Are you properly supplied whats your Division composition to theirs? [editline]28th June 2014[/editline] never make king vassals. ever. infact try to avoid making dukes
I personally try to avoid having any ducal vassals as well (beside the ducal titles I own). I prefer a strict policy of 1 title max per ruler to ensure that none of my vassals gets too strong.

In EU4, if a country has national ideas for +1 yearly legitimacy, if you convert to a republic, does this turn into +1 yearly republican tradition?
In EU4, if a country has national ideas for +1 yearly legitimacy, if you convert to a republic, does this turn into +1 yearly republican tradition?
yes

Now they're at war with France and the UK due to some HPP inviting shenanigans. Luckily for us the MR-pact still fired so we can get our Polish clay.
Sure does sound like the most boring game of CKII ever.
You're ignoring the fact that it never works out that way because of vassal infighting, alliances and succession.

Luckily for us the MR-pact still fired so we can get our Polish clay.
Also in that multiplayer game I was playing as Mexico with the intention of joining the Comintern to be used as a staging area for an invasion of the US later down the road. Thanks to one of the Economic Status upgrades in the HPP mod requiring only units and not IC, I would be able to instantly go from being a merely Developed Country to an Intermediate Power and getting a ton of free Leadership because of it. And so while I was waiting for 4 more planes to finish being produced, there were over 150 units of militia that were starving from absolutely no supplies. Because I had this huge fuck off army of peasants, I decided that any penalty from high Dissent was insignificant and could be dealt with easily while I built the planes needed for me to get my free Leadership points. For some reason, despite having over 100 Dissent at one point driving revolt risk through the roof on my cores, rebels barely spawned at all. What DID spawn though, after I abused the Early Elections feature to break the popularity and organization of the ruling party and when Dissent got to around 100 were nonstop political crises. I eventually figured out I could use the political penalties from the constant events to force a communist government into power by making every other party utter crap until the communists won an election which would drive me to the Comintern ridiculously fast. Here's a video showing some of what happened from my end during that game. My voice was not captured because I'm an idiot.
You're ignoring the fact that it never works out that way because of vassal infighting, alliances and succession.
Shooting for Med CA early on can solve the issue of vassal infighting, which I see as the biggest problem of the three. Outside succession can be troublesome as well, but nothing that a arranged marriage can (hopefully) fix though. Unless that's a serious issue you can try going for High CA or something. Which means more rebellions, more title revocations, and positive relation bonuses from putting down revolts.

Well my shits not going lower than medium
You're ignoring the fact that it never works out that way because of vassal infighting, alliances and succession.
Then what's the point? If it doesn't work anyway why not just hand out some duchies, a single duke is a lot easier to control than seven counts anyway
Sure does sound like the most boring game of CKII ever.
No, the most boring way to play is just remain a King and give your heir every single ducal title.
in my experience raising CA under any circumstances at all = eventual rebellion and civil war regardless of your vassal relations
You don't have to raise CA too high, I was only suggesting raising it above Med as a last reosrt in case you absolutely cannot prevent succession outside the realm. And of course, raising CA just means all these juicy civil wars make it convenient to enforce the 1 title rule I mentioned earlier.
Then what's the point? If it doesn't work anyway why not just hand out some duchies, a single duke is a lot easier to control than seven counts anyway
It works, not 100% of the time, but it works. Dukes have total control over their duchies and all their vassals within. Eventually they might go around revoking everything for themselves, which unchecked means you have a strong vassal that poses a threat to your powerbase. Keeping them divided and limited to 1 title makes them weak and easy (fucking tedious) to put down.
I've been wondering what a good mod for HoI 3 is? I played the ICE mod before it was taken over. But that is about it. Really should start playing Darkest Hour again.
Been trying to play Rome with RotA but its CTD every time I start it or it loads and the map is just completely water textures then CTD. I installed it according to the instructions and everything, but still. Any ideas on where to check to fix it? Been itching to play EU:R recently.
