Yeah it needs some edited units and events to push things along.
Besides that all flag converters suck and are for windows only or Photoshop. So working on my own. Added benefit that you can now just fill a directory with flags and get them converted to shields. No flag support as that is just witchcraft,
Damn, if only I had that when I was working on my little battle scenario a few months ago. Almost immediately gave up when I got around to the flags and shields stuff. :v:
Does anybody know how to assign certain countries as faction leaders via save game edit in HoI 3? I just converted my Eu4->Vic2->Hoi3 save (the one with ugly Bohemia blob) and apparently there are no factions at all.
Edit: Never mind, already found the way.
Shit man, I got Victoria 2 and the DLCs a day ago and I've already spend 13 hours into it. The game is too damn addicting.
I first played as Sweden (obviously), managed to form Scandinavia thanks to some Danish Rebels. And soon I became a great power. A crisis occurred which the dumb Ottomans and Russias didn't manage to solve so now I'm in a huge war together with Prussia, The UK, the Ottomands against Russia, France, Belgium and some other nation. I've decided to take a break from this save.
Today I played as the Chinese Empire. I wanted to see what'd happen if I westernized it. The first 15 years were quite boring. You just wait foreign nations to show an interest into you. I accepted whatever crap they wanted to give me, in exchange for an very angry population. Before I westernized I fought what felt like millions of rebels and guys that wanted to become independent.
Directly after westernization though I became a Great Power and things calmed down. Although now I'm in a war with "Vietnam", Korea and The US. It's kinda funny, I initially was intervening in the US vs Korea war, but then Korea expelled my embassy so I declared war on them. So we're fighting a three way war.
I think I may revert the save :v:
So I'm the king of Scotland and I own down to just above Jorvik on the mainland and a bit of Ireland. My son will end up inheriting Wales as well. I gained Sicily in a crusade and now I can't decide what to do next. The Abbassids own everything from like mid-Africa to past Persia. I think we only beat them in the crusade because his 50k couldn't reach us in time. The viking invasions from Scandinavia are no longer very threatening, as England and Ireland always offer to join up.
What do.
I don't remember this happening in the books
Incest simulator strikes again:

Heres hoping they make an official converter for the game.
I doubt they will.
Playing as Castile in Europa Universalis IV, starting from 1444. Boy oh boy is this game a far cry from Civ V (in a good way).
Declared war on Granada, siezed 2 out of 3 provinces they owned (I was on the verge of bankruptcy so I could not seize Granada itself, so I am saving that for another time). War is actually quite difficult to properly conduct without dooming half my men to a shallow grave and burning my entire reserve of manpower for the next 5 years.
Speaking of dosh, I am still trying to figure out good ways to farm ducats in the game. I grasp the concept of trade; you need a merchant to collect/transfer power from a node and you need lightships for more power from a node and somesuch but I am still curious as to how to get any truly significant amount of money from trade. I keep trying to court Genoa but everytime I set my merchant to collect once I get 20-30% of the node controlled it drops right back down again and I end up getting pennies.
Also, which expansions should I invest in to get the most out of the game?

HOI4 sounds even more amazing by the day. Definitely picking it up when it releases.

My Automerge :aargh:
A ship designer. Looks interesting, but it looks like it's lacking a bit of depth.
I'm not sure when or where, but I called it though.

Well its only really going to have depth if it has submarine capabilities

neither, theyre not worth the money
i didn't try them yet but...they dont really add a whole lot... especially for 10 dollars/Euros
Funny thing about the expansions is I random nations in EUIV, and if you play natives you still get the mission to migrate despite that being unavailable if you don't have Conquest of Paradise.
So I decided to try out Victoria 2 which is great so far, even if it's complicated as fuck, but i'm having a problem with peacing out with the Dutch. They declared a colonial war on me (Japan) but I repelled them and added the war goal of taking Dutch Borneo, only worth 7% war score and I have 26 in total against them yet they still won't peace out, even for a white peace, could someone help please or is this just a bug?
-Solved it, just had to re-load the save-
so basically the game as is?

tbh I'd like to see the core and overextension mechanics reworked. It should be more like CK2 or Vic, instead of every single province being part of your core territory. It makes the concept of "core" pretty meaningless.
I doubt they will.
Why? I know of many who decided to buy EU4 before release due to the converter, why miss out on those sales for HoI4?

Victoria 2 works differently for a reason, though.
So, I left an observe game running from 1066. It's 1359 now, here's what the AI did

Religion
[t]http://i.imgur.com/pKWxKjV.png[/t]
Byzzies are Doukas, but went Catholic. The Crusades were a success
[t]http://i.imgur.com/j9rqUof.png[/t]
Shia is the dominant faith in Africa/Arabia
[t]http://i.imgur.com/YwqpnKO.png[/t]
Orthodox Cumania probably survived by not being HW'd by Christian neighbours. Also, Sunni is a heresy of Ibadi
[t]http://i.imgur.com/2KPJzNI.png[/t]
Nothing interesting, India boring as usual
Culture
[t]http://i.imgur.com/UrvnxBi.png[/t]
Germans and Greeks dominate Europe. Note the 0% conversion of Poland's Russian claims. Again, probably inherited
[t]http://i.imgur.com/McCwKZT.png[/t]
Bedouins finally the minority in Africa/Arabia. Note the German holdings in Iberia
[t]http://i.imgur.com/m92ZcwR.png[/t]
Central Asia/Persia is a clusterfuck of cultures
[t]http://i.imgur.com/wLeKHcs.png[/t]
India still fucking boring
Oddities
[t]http://i.imgur.com/vjrkZ0T.png[/t]
Now, "Gdansk" is something that I made Poland create using cheats. I was tired of it constantly being Venice/Genoa/Gotland, so I had the Republic of Gdansk created.
However, the Republic of Aragon is not my doing

You figure out why I chose this one.

Mongol Abbasid what how
Were you running any mods?
Were you running any mods?
I was running Imperial Restoration mod, which gives Byzantium WRE-style restoration CBs.
Other than that, just custom settings for flatmap.
[editline]10th August 2014[/editline]
