oh my god in CKII my young leader's first regent was taken out of being a regent. After he left I got about 4 events in a row trying to kill me.
Didn't slip and fall off of the roof while cleaning bird poop.
Wasn't killed by angry peasants in the forest.
Wasn't killed in a tragic carriage accident.
Was crushed by a fat falling guard.
That's why I try to keep everyone in my courtsuper happy with me.
i wonder how many beta testers will manage get counters removed from hoi4 and day one dlc implemented
Remove the counters entirely? I rather liked having the option for counters since I found them easy to read at a glance.
I want to change the default name of Louisiana to something more neutral (and keep Louisiana as a French-specific name) but I don't know what it could be called. Maybe just "North America"?
Maybe Mississippi? The in-game region relatively corresponds with the river and its tributaries and it also seems that the French claims to the river and the Louisiana region (as well as its naming) in the seventeenth century were connected.

I think they've said they are going to keep them in but as a toggleable option.

kinda hard to do at age 8, even then it was his older sister that caused it.
but now her heir is her half-brother, but he isn't of the same dynasty. So she had a son matrilineally but now I need to kill him or take his county in a war (he own a neighboring province all by his lonesome).

i like how they're improving on hoi3 and cutting down on micromanagement but it's like 'micromanagement' is becoming a buzzword for dumbing down some aspects of the game, especially on the some of the suggestions made to the dev team
what i liked most about hoi3 over its predecessors was its actual oob system, but now some people want to go back to the old system of stacking corps which just seems too arcade-y, it would be good if the dev team could find the right balance without being swamped by "sprites pl0x, 1936 panther tanks, polan in2 space lol"
it probably looks like i'm being too negative but i'm afraid that hoi4 will be released as a steaming pile of shit
For me the micromanagement before war was somewhat cathartic, but that was only to a point, arranging the mess of divisions you've used to plug those gaps that have some how found it from one end of the front to the other away from there corps HQ's was painful. Especially post successful Barbarossa. I gave up that campaign because it was horribly messy.
I actually still love going back to HoI I and just playing around due to its relative simplicity or arcadyness, now Im getting into HoI II via Darkest Hour. I just assume for both that the HQ type stuff lurks in the shadows. They don't devolve into as great a micromanaging hell.
A balance between the two would be great, and maybe and (in my experience) an auto-ai that could properly assort units into a reasonable OOB. Maybe they could find a way to make it a possible feature like using counters or not, but with using HQ's.

Yeah I think I'll roll with that. Looking at the file it seems that Mississippi is actually a possible name for the CN, but I've never seen it in-game.

My French Republic, just finished a war with NGF to dismantle their Empire. The Rhineland is my vassal and I have over 600000 troops station there, that combined with 120000 troops in Africa, 120000 troops in Indochina, and 240000 troops on the Italian border leads to a pretty huge army.

I also dismantled the UK's Empire and released Scotland, which resulted in me grabbing up most of their African colonies, shared of course between me and the Danubian Federation, my faithful ally (Unless I'm over the infamy limit).
Speaking of the infamy limit I've been hopping back and forth over it since the scramble for Africa but honestly I'm so strong at this point that it doesn't matter.
Mod is latest /gsg/Vickymod
The images that I see of HoIV, and what it's sounding to be, is going to be a streamlined, dumbed down, mana-systemed Darkest Hour but with tonnes of pointless DLC.
I'm not sure whether to trust in PI, they've been making very questionable moves with their games.
i've been wanting to jump ship to War in the East but what the fuck the prices of those games

Except you can? Set that boy to Auto assign and it'll make tiers of HQ's all the way down if necessary depending on the HQ level, TBH I was always happy with that, all it needed was an upgrade so it actually smartened up and used proper units where they needed to be, Like panzer divisions go for Flatland's, mountain/light infantry for Mountainous area's, etc, but that's if you set them to auto-fight. HoI3 was great in you can let the AI take over any aspect of the nation you wanted and focus your attention on what interested you, rather than having to Micro everything.

What is this? This looks like a fucking mobile game, or some crapshoot "early access" game that you pay $5 for.
I understand that it's Alpha, but it better not look this fuckin' dumbed down in the final release. It honestly looks pitiful.
I need a bucket after seeing that map.
Those better not be the end counters, they give off _no_information. And Germany gets what, 10 provinces???
Since when was Hearts of Iron, which is Paradox Interactive's big, hardcore WW2 grand strategy game
a fucking Total War game.
I like the tech logos

Those are regions, not provinces, if you look close you can see more smaller ones, they're just faded because the camera is not zoomed in

See those faint lines?

looks worse then hoi3... hopefully it won't be like this.. please paradox
I think it looks fine :/
I love the map, the UI is pretty nice.
Anyways I'm pretty sure they confirmed back when they first revealed the map that you can still toggle individual map modes. Just by default it looks like that.

Hm, the channel islands are missing. Eh, they're not that important.
Big CK2 announcement on Thursday.
Let's hope it's better than RoI.

I don't think these are provinces, more like multi-province regions or something. See:

According to Podcat, the reason Germany isn't grey is that it looked horrible when it was winter.

The EU4 one is supposed to be bigger than any other EU4 or CK2 expansion, isn't it? And the CK2 one will be pretty big too.
I can't say I'm not excited.

It did it in such a shit way though, you would have entire armoured divisions on partisan duty in some random place behind the front line with your struggling infantry trying to push the front line.
Also, have you actually seen the behaviour of the HQs? I've seen corps HQs far, far, far away out of radio range from their divisions.
It needs to be fixed.
Wow I'm slightly pissed now looking at those dev pictures, it looks horrible.

Here's hoping there's more colonialism events, personally. I feel it's too lackluster.

RoI was alright, though it didn't really add anything new in terms of mechanics. But since this one won't be a map expansion and the devs mentioned the will to make more "storytelling-focused" DLC, I'm pretty sure we'll get cool new stuff for the core game.

China is great (once you civilize) because you can bumrush industry and massive militaries very, VERY easily.
However the "Civilize before being overrun with revolts/buttfucked by Japan/both" part is hard :v:

Yeah, almost feels like I'm cheating. I currently got about 30 factories and upgrades on the queue. And I'm building a 33 brigades. I could build even more, but no need at the moment.
Japan and Russia never bothered me, UK stole a province from me(which I annexed from Burma) but other than that it was quite alright.

Are you just getting into Victoria or Paradox games in general?
I've had V2 for a while and I'm kind of hesitant to play it because it looks so complex, I guess that's the thing though, some games click for you immediately, some don't.
