Are you just getting into Victoria or Paradox games in general?
I've never played any Paradox grand strategy game for a longer period of time. This is the first time I've played more than like 4 hours. And the first time where I actually haven't cheated haha. But yeah I got Victoria quite recently.
But else I've tried EU3, HoI2 and HoI3.
Edit: Wait, completely forgot about CK2. I've spent a bunch of time in it.
It'd be cool if they made a game that spans from 1936 - Today. Cold war and shit would be neat as fuck to play

Yeah I'd love that. They almost made one called East vs West, spanning from 45-91, but cancelled for unknown reasons.

It was pretty unfinished and buggy as shit. There was a leaked version of it and I played it and..... half the shit didn't work. They had been developing and delaying for faaaar too long too.
EvW has some anon made fixes from /gsg/ but its still not really anywhere near a complete playable state.
As for HOI4, I will let my wallet speak if the game continues to look unimpressive. I really liked the depth and scale of 3, while I understand that for the sake of gameplay they're not having as many provinces I really hope they don't EvW it and have only ~20 provinces per major in Europe or the likes.
The reason probably was that the interface was a crime against humanity.
Hm, I loved the interface
Well I've sure fucked up. Noticed how I was getting -2k cash each day, so I look it up and it turns out I subsidize my industry with 20k each day.
Man my industry score is going to dive so hard if I turn that off. Not to mention that I have about 1 million+ unemployed craftsmen.
New expansions for EU IV and CK 2 are being announced tomorrow, I'm hoping that the EU IV expansion is based around improving the rest of the world, the Eastern religions are in dire need of new mechanics and China could use a rework, and everywhere else outside of Europe just needs more flavor like events & ideas in general.
I realllllly hope it focuses on adding internal management stuff. I'm in one of my first big games as Russia and between wars there's very little to do, the recent changes to truce timers just highlighted that.

glory to provence!
from now on I will no longer care about AE, I will just steamroll Iberia and then the HRE

keynesian economics for you
the problem is the economic system ingame gradually gets wonkier as people become more productive but don't really consume any more. the result is a massive excess of manufactured goods that causes prices to crash and many countries begin to go into bankruptcy or face factories shutting down and people becoming unemployed as you get towards the late game
it can be mitigated by shutting down some old industries and investing into new industries (electric gears, cars, tanks, aeroplanes, radios) which tend to be profitable late game
also try to secure supplies of rubber and oil for these industries (or at least make sure the countries producing them have good tech and infrastructure and people), because the new industries rely on those

I don't really trust this site to properly check their facts, so I'll take this (and the CK2 post) with a grain of salt.
Though the name fits with the entire 'naming your expansions after famous books' thing that PDox did with Wealth of Nations.
Looks like we got ourselves some Charlie Mang goin' on with CK2.
Fan-fuckin'-tastic, I was honestly waiting for this! I really hope they have a tonne of new cultural decisions, being that they've added Saxon, Visigothic, Lombard, etc.
tbh I'm more excited about EU4's new map and improved warfare than about Charlemagne. At least until we know what other features are in the expansion besides a bookmark and a couple of new cultures.
charlemagne best charl
they announced that stuff in a Stream right?
they announced that stuff in a Stream right?
No the stream is at 9PM CEST.
jeuxvideo.com either published information they weren't supposed to, or they got sent some fake screenshots from a dubious source and posted them anyway.
ah, gotcha.
they look pretty legit though.

One of the screenshots for the CK2 DLC has seasonal effects like EU4.

Welp, they just removed the video because Paradox asked them to, so I guess it's legit.
Google Translations of the DLC descriptions from the site
CK2:
At their own pace and without firing a shot, Crusader Kings II continues to grow with regular deliveries of extensions. Charlemagne is precisely the seventh add-on strategy game from Paradox and return the 769 players to follow in the footsteps of King Carolingian.
EU4:
Paradox benefited from gamescom 2014 to unveil the third and final extension of its Europa Universalis IV , which will be called Art of War . Scheduled for fall 2014, said extension will focus on the Thirty Years War. Improved Diplomacy, sea and land battles and other gameplay enhancements are planned. All this in a few pictures and a short trailer? It's down there as it happens.
that's a mistranslation on the EU4 thing, in English it would actually be "The Latest", instead of "the last"
Welp, they just removed the video because Paradox asked them to, so I guess it's legit.
Both pages are down now, guess PI was really pushing for them to hush hush.
edit: wait no nevermind, it's just only the videos that were taken down
