What defines when a province is colonial in the files? I gave some previously empty provinces to Sibir by file editing but the game thinks they are colonies and they cannot be converted because apparently a nonexistent colonist will convert them
Does charlemagne start after most of charless conquests?
If so , whats the point after all?
No it starts in 769, right after Pepin the Short died and split the Frankish kingdom between Charles and Carloman.
What exactly does Purple Phoenix add for Byzantium?

So i was gonna buy the Vic 2 collection at bundlestar. Turns out my bank 2 minutes before buying the game decided to take some monthly payments off and now im like 2 eur short. This kind of shit happens too often to me.

Having played 60 hours of Victoria 2 this week myself. I feel that fate should be placed upon all willing participants.
Check your pm I sent you the collection key.

Better than you buying the game and the bank taking your payments and you ending up in the negative.

That also happened before. OR even when i go to the store since the bank does not take the money ASAP off the card if i go to the local store. So it says i have 5 eur for 5 days and i keep going to store every day then suddenly OH SHIT -7 EUR ENJOY.
Do the Xpacks for vic 2 help to fix the rebel problems? Since i keep reading about them online and its putting me off from playing long term.
There I was wondering why I wasn't getting any sons (or children for that matter) and then I look at my wife's profile and find out she's almost 60
Time flies
Managed to finally form the Empire of Alba after so long trying to marry into England, it got to the stage where almost everyone in england was of my dynasty. I then ended up married to the queen and pretty much just had to wait for her to die so my son could take everything over. :v:
I also ended up with random province next to navarra at some point in the game without even realising...no idea why.
My emperor is also married to the queen of sicily, so when she passes my son will be nabbing that too.
My vassals are so cornered and beaten that they dare not do anything against me too. I can field almost a hundred thousand men.
God I love this.

Imagine if there was a hidden "infertile" trait that could only be revealed by a rare event and there were no warning or anything so sometimes you just wouldn't be able to have kids and not know why
Still wouldn't fuck with that HRE until you cut it down to size/inherit it
i've played the "a new world" mod thing for EU4 as Portugal and it might be my first game i finish
i have exploration, expansion, and quantity ideas which group should i take next
How the fuck do random tiny pagan kingdoms manage to muster 5k+ troops? Seriously, what the fuck? (CK2)

Almost as bad as taking over 80% of the middle east as Venice yet they still manage to raise like 10-20k for a holy war every few years.
seriously what the fuck am i supposed to do when i have 180 rebel brigades spawn instantly and 60 spawn in my capital
[editline]3rd September 2014[/editline]
its happened 3 times now, thanks to italy being an absolute monarchy and the sufferage movement being so slow with pop demand
Victoria 2 always had fuckishly overpowered rebels.
I can't help but notice that people are a little less than excited for HoI4. The general consensus seems to be due to oversimplification, but can someone explain to me the finer details?
Victoria 2 always had fuckishly overpowered rebels.
The rebels themselves were weak, they don't get stronger in terms of power as the game goes on. The numbers are just ridiculous.
The rebels themselves were weak, they don't get stronger in terms of power as the game goes on. The numbers are just ridiculous.
That's why they're overpowered. Their numbers are beyond what the player can actually support.
Jacobins in early game (Around springtime of nations) in PDM are scripted afaik, they are there to make countries go prussian constitutional ist. Even I lost to them as Prussia, but they dont break the country, only mild democratic changes.
You could just pass a couple of reforms and not have any rebellions. Its late game when the rebellions get a bit crazy.
[editline]3rd September 2014[/editline]
For PDM I recommend Divide by Zero.

took me a while to figure out why 'merica was slap bang in the middle of England when I realised it was Mercia :v:
jacobins arent a movement, so you cant force a reform to calm them down
They appear when militancy gets too high. Large movements cause militancy so pass reforms for the largest movements. Passing reforms that nobody is currently pushing for will cause 2 million jacobins to appear.
ye the problem is the only movement that happens is sufferage, which doesnt get enough support in pdm for some reason (at least with sardinia)
and because its an absolute monarchy people get pissy because almost all of the random events add high amounts of militancy/consciousness and libruls
That's the biggest thing I didn't like about VC2. It felt forced and didn't have the "alternate history" aspect that the EU and CK games had/have. You've got 4-5 nations who are guaranteed superpowers (unless the player does something), consciousness/militancy/librul ideas get forced on you in the late game, and your country's forced into rebellion or revolution or huge problems later on, and nothing you do can really have an effect. It's kinda like EU's forced stability events, like that annoying-as-all-fuck one where a "meteor is spotted in the night sky and people are superstitious". You're given like 5 options of response, but each of them is just a snarky quip that takes away your stability anyway.
ye the problem is the only movement that happens is sufferage, which doesnt get enough support in pdm for some reason (at least with sardinia)
Pdm is an abandoned project. Divide by Zero has been working on the rebel problem for a while now and have been making quite a bit of progress.
You might not like it since it railroads you more with a couple of events.
