Okay, I just bought HOI3 and Vicky 2 and all their DLC for $10.
Why does this feel so dirty?
EUIV is like 7 bucks at the humble store, really considering buying it because I'm loving CKII a lot.
Are the DLCs for EUIV worth it?
How to edit the font used for nations on map? Where is it's file?

I just bought EUIV... So, with converters, I guess I can run this game I'm playing with my friend all the way through World War II.
I wonder how much of the world I'll have conquered by then?
Res Republica & Wealth of Nations are worth it
Conquest of Paradise is really mediocre, the paid version barely adds anything.
Pretty sure Conquest of Paradise adds a lot of things to the Native American nations?
In other news Wiz (CK2+ creator, AI programmer) is now project lead for EU4.
I wonder how the direction of the game will be affected.
If you have a SA account read his Paradox LP's, theyre fucking great. There is no reason not to if you are a Paradox games fan really.

It's a long story.
I had a similar game where a friend and I double teamed the USA as Canada and Mexico then joined the Commintern. It's actually not too hard if you invade early on. The US has a big navy, but their ground forces are lacking at that point.

It takes Paradox about 2 years to fully flesh out a game.
Is there a mod for EU4 that changes the colony names?
For example, when I establish a new colony, I don't want it to make the colony named after the main culture ie: "Greek West Indies" but instead with the demonym "Byzantine West Indies" or something like that.
If you can find a mod like that, thanks in advance
As the emperor of Hispania in CKII just got control of the HRE and Byzantine Empire and completely dissolved both of them just to fuck with history and enjoy years of endless wars between the tiny little states

When i made a colony it gave me a little pop-up that allows me to choose the name

oh neat
oh neat
What he said. By default it will be Hannoverian Canada, for example, if your culture is Hannoverian, no matter the country you are. But when the colony is established, you can choose to name it whatever you want.
I'm not sure when they added this, but some provinces auto rename now if they're controlled by different cultures. Like most of the provinces in the 13 colonies will be renamed from their default if controlled by the English. It is an option in the pre-game options menu.
They are stored here Europa Universalis IV\common\province_names
Although, provinces don't rename if controlled by Americans, you can see this if you load up the American Revolution Bookmark. Easily fixed if you make a copy of the British file and rename it USA

So Spectator mode is coming to CK2 in the future, and you'll be able to force events on players if you want. Thats what I gathered from the last live stream, or maybe it was the Dev LP videos on their Extra youtube channel.
Huh, British.txt should definitely work for Americans since they're in the British group.
There's a difference between culture-based and tag-based localisations though, since the former depends on local culture while the latter depends on the owner.

You didn't know that? If you take the Åland Islands from Sweden (as Finland) the islands are automatically renamed Ahvenanmaa
CK2 collection is £13.99 on the humble store atm
I bought HOI3 collection for 5 euro, I don't understand a single fucking thing

Does it matter if hes rated dumb? People who don't bother to explain their stances have stupid reasons for it most of the time anyway, I'm just assuming people are rating him dumb because they're looking at it from the standpoint of who the hell would even know that.

Still rather irked me though.
I'm attempting a Us Victoria II playthrough in which I make the US into Republican paradise.
It is ultra-jingoistic (I have invaded Mexico at least 3 times), ultra-conservative, ultra-religious, and completely evil.
I made it so after the invention of Socialism in the 1860s, we do everything we can to stop immigration because we don't want those dirty pinko commies coming here. Despite this, I still get an average of 10k immigrants a day and Socialists dominate the Congress with 21% (since as far as I know, you can't outlaw parties, and least in a democracy)
Reform is nearly nonexistent. Massive Socialist rebellions have occurred twice now. The second was so large it caused a drop in the population from all the dead rebels and subsequent executions.
I have also taken the Monroe Doctrine to a whole new level. Not only am I the protector of the West, I am also it's overlord. I have sphered the Latin American countries, annexed Honduras and Nicaragua, forced Colombia to release Panama, and forced the Brits to release Canada and its constituent territories. Since I am using NNM, British Columbia was independent and joined me as a state. I also won British Guyana and Puerto Rico from Spain. I also took Belize for shits and giggles.
The only problem is that this has royally pissed of Britain, which takes every 20 years or so off from raping India to get their m8s together and come pub stomp me. I am usually powerful enough to defend myself, but my Canadian and Brazilian friends have no such luck, meaning I am lucky to get any kind of positive warscore. Whats worse is that the Brits have formed a Coalition of sorts with the Germans to combat French expansion, as for some reason France is the number one ranked GP (due to their absurdly high industrial score).
It is getting hard though because I need to fight a war with the Brits but I don't have any good generals, resulting in me getting murdered fairly quickly.

Germany was defeated, Soviet Union had been defeated by the Germans earlier so the Japs sent some troops to Europe to help those are them stranded. Russia didn't release all the puppets properly, borders went to normal after the war.
Also, are you sure thats beneficial to you Stalin? :v:
