Zonix's apparently is the one that adds the countries while Magic8ball's flag pack adds the political maps for Zonix's added countries, according to the readme in the EU3 - Vic2 converter, and I can't find Zonix's anywhere, the link in the Readme goes to megaupload so its useless

Oh I'm an idiot, there is a link on the converter page to the country converter download. In my defense it was named "Converter mod" so I just figured it was a download to the EU3 to VIC2 program

While America is at war with Great Britain, Japan attacks, then the CSA forms again, they become friends with Germany who puppets them and then declares war on the USA and annexes the CSA.

Mean while, France worried about the Quebecois in Canada decalres war on the US as well.

Then Mexico decides to join in for fun.

What you see there is the aftermath of the war, they're all at peace.

Ok, this is very confusing, I left a hands off game of the mixed mod running over night. Its June 1955, the war is still going.

Here are the weird parts. Allies are at war with the Axis, Soviets, Japan (they're not part of the Axis) and China. The Soviet union appears to have ever gone to war with the Axis.

And as far as I can tell, most of the world other then the core countries of allies, are fascist or National Socialist.

The USA has nuked Germany at least once. They have ICBM tech but have not built any from what I've seen.

Also before the war, I turned Hungary into Latvaria, Dr. Doom's country from Marvel Comics, Germany into Tomania (from Charlie Chaplin's "The Great Dictaot") and Italy in the Roman Empire.

Interestingly, communism sprung up in the Ottoman Empire (which had turned into a republic by then) and they then went to war with everyone around them: not a decent idea, as you can see. I'm especially liking how Russia randomly gobbled up bits of Turkey proper.

They're the least industrial communist nation I've ever seen.

Also, the USA went into a random conquering binge between 1870 and 1900. I'm not sure what's up with that.

A lot of the time if I watch Darkest Hour play from 1942 onwards, The Soviet Union tends to be the liberators of Europe.

Rarely do the Allies even show up, to the point of where the USSR liberates France and Norway.

Is it just me or are there a lot of hidden nations in HoI3?

In the localisation countries.csv, it mentions Scandinavia, Slovenia, Ukraine, Texas, and nations like that.

Probably left overs from other games on the same engine. Or perhaps they were planned but never completed. If you look in the files most of them will be empty or point to nonexistent files.
