First game in HoD as the USA; Everything tends to go normal up until 1850. A crisis for Albanian freedom emerges and I decided to back them. Every GP except for me and France back the Ottomans instead and I decide to let it turn into a massive war of GPs by denying any talks of peace. So a war breaks out; USA (me), France VS Ottomans, Prussia, UK, Netherlands, and Russia. I had already won in war against Russia and the UK by using superior tactics to destroy their navy and exploiting their large supply lines so I figured this war wouldn't be any different. I decided to expand to the North-east and take Quebec. [t]http://i.imgur.com/q9f62f9.jpg[/t] Of course moving my armies to the east left the west open to foreign exploitation; I decided to leave the west to it's fate and return to retake it later seeing as the entire west coast was not that important for me and it would wear down British and Russian troops advancing on a vast supply line. It worked well and I took most of Eastern Canada in return for only losing Idaho, Washington, and Oregon to the Russians and British. Upon conquering the east I returned 57,000 men to the west to halt the British advance and take western Canada. The Prussians had tried a surprise landing in New Brunswick however I staved them off and forced them away from my shore line with my smallish navy of 40 some frigates and 20 man-of-wars. I paid of the UK with Normandy and Prussia with a white peace that for some reason they accepted. So I landed men into France in order to destroy the last Russian brigades and launch an assault on the Ottoman Empire. I'm going to defend across the eastern coast and then push against them when they are weaker. [t]http://i.imgur.com/0LrQPfN.jpg[/t] Once I down them I'll probably try to end the war but it will be hard seeing as the only term I won't agree to is them cutting me down to size and they won't agree to any peace talks unless that is part of the deal.

FOr Hearts of Iron 3, how does one get his energy/metal/etc production up other than technology. No matter how i make my values in the production tap, im always losing energy. At the same time all my IC that's left over automatically gets dumped into a random part like consumer goods or production.

I think I'm going to re-buy Victoria 2 on Steam while it's on sale, and get AHD. I want to try to get into the game again. The only thing I've accomplished in V2 was pretty much just sitting there as Japan and maybe colonising an island.

On Hamachi right click their name, copy IPv4 Address and then type it into the direct connect field in CK2 (You can't paste for some reason) and see if that helps. If you're already doing it then yeah chances are someone's got a firewall messing with things or you've got different checksums.

Probably because HOI3's version of the engine didn't support it.

I am lagging behind heavily in tech (even when westernized) as I'm back 10 land techs from the other Human players (netherlands, Oman). My manpower is also lower than that of Oman (~1000k, mine being ~780k). My income is 5500 compared to that of 10000 (oman) and 9000(netherlands). What my strength lies in right now, is that I can't have any revolts. I have converted all my provinces to Orthodox, I have -2 revolt risk from the idea, as well as a maximum of 10 warexhaustion (even when its maxed I gain no revolt risk). My other strength is that I can mass produce so many troops in such a short time in European Russia (around 300 regiments in a month). And my soldiers are dirt cheap, costing around 3 ducats each. Basically, i suck but I can have constant war lol.

Do you have guys have any tips for westernizing in Victora 2 AHD? I'm currently promoting bureaucrats and clergymen, and I've passed my first reform. Somehow though, there's this other primitive nation near me and he already has flintlock rifles despite not being westernized.

Along with increasing literacy, try to encourage liberals (for economic reforms).

Most of my Duchy however is Occitarian. How would i go about tchanging the entire culture to ariptan? I know this is technically 'cheating' but can I just edit this out in the save file, or another document?

Mods like APD and NNM are already starting to fix the bugs that HoD is having.
