Random baron assassinates your daughter.
The only reasonable course of action is assassinating their entire family tree.
Ahaha fuck I got such a weird game.
Asturias is gone, Muslims have complete control of Iberia and are pushing into Frankish lands. The first crusade happened decades around 910 and pushed back the muslims. Western Europe in general looks like a tornado went through it.
The Muslims need to beat Spain more, I'm sad that it never happens.
Also, it's BS that if you're in de jure HRE you have to follow their laws. Fuck you, the Kingdom of Saxony allows revokation.

It really is bullshit since they disabled kingdoms drifting outside of empires.
The only way to get out of an empire's de jure law is to make your own empire...
Linux users- do you guys get any bugs when running EU4?
the top left part of my screen starts revealing black spots whenever I zoom in on a country, and sometimes EU4 will launch in a different resolution.
anyone? Is this GNOME only?
Art of War is so bugged right now. I just loaded up a saved game and all of my provinces with ~+4 nationalism unrest are back up to +10. The auto-transport "feature" always crashes my game as well.
I just had my stepmother married to my son, my granddaughter betrothed to my brother, and another of my daughters turned into a Mexican.
What even is this game.

I don't think I've encountered a single bug yet...
I don't think I've encountered a single bug yet...
You mean you haven't encountered friendly nationalist rebels of your own culture?
I don't think I've encountered a single bug yet...
there's a tiny production bug that fixes itself when you load a save (at least in mp) and mp as a whole is OOS general but yeah other than that I haven't noticed any bugs either
You mean you haven't encountered friendly nationalist rebels of your own culture?
I've played as Hesse, Bavaria, and Poland (current), and the only time I've had issues with rebels is this Poland game. It just occurred to me I have indeed been seeing the Polish nationalist faction: "will defect to ___". Was tempted to let them win to see what happens but instead I just use my pet Lithuania to stomp them. It's definitely annoying but it hasn't been gamebreaking yet.
I had the fucking Peasants' War despite the fact that I had no AE, stable stability, and was just low on manpower. It was somewhat brutal but with neighbors helping with rebels it wasn't too awful.
edit: My Poland game is shaping up to be trouble lategame. It's about 1500 and France is finishing up eating the smaller countries within its borders, Aragon's in the PU under Castile, England has devoured Scotland and Ireland, Austria inherited Burgundy (and Styria broke off out of nowhere?) and is leading a PU with Hungary. The Volhynian Nationalists in south Poland are fucking brutal too. Three stacks of 15ish every time, and the uprising progresses begins anew every time I kill them.
I've also had unrest in provinces that didn't correlate with an existing rebellion. So, for example, I've had around 5 newly conquered provinces with ~6 unrest each, but the list of rebellions in the menu was empty.
I've also seen this same thing happen in other countries. I tried to support rebels, but there wasn't an actual possible rebellion even though unrest existed.
And I'm really fucking getting sick of the Sejm.
[editline]6th November 2014[/editline]
Austria-Hungary just went to war with France over the succession of Lorraine. :suicide:
Jesus fucking christ. A month after I formed the Commonwealth I get another fucking Peasants' War. The only trigger I have that could possibly be relevant is the forever-shit legitimacy due to elective monarchy.
I suppose since the Sejm oppressed the fuck out of the peasants historically it makes some sense, but...
SO CLOSE TO FORMING THE WENDISH EMPIRE. ALL REQUIREMENTS MET BUT IT WOULDN'T LET ME FORM IT. 80%/100% TERRITORY, TWICE THE AMOUNT OF GOLD NEEDED, WELL OVER PIETY NEEDED.
ALMOST OBTAINED THE THIRD HOLY SITE TO REFORM THE SLAVIC FAITH.
HEIRLESS RULER DIES FROM PNEUMONIA.
ARAGHAH.

I really want Vinesauce to play CKII.

Best part about that map is that a French family rules England. Some serious border gore going on there.
edit: Magyars in Sicily. Nice.
A French family rules England after Harald won.
It's been my favorite game so far.

[IMG_thumb]http://i.cubeupload.com/8txBqR.jpg[/IMG_thumb]
I started as the Duke of Saxony in 1066, Harald quickly won the war and I dicked with the HRE from the inside. Eventually I broke off and was constantly fighting with the pagans and the HRE to keep my land and expand a bit (my borders have been locked since the mid 1100's now).
The English soon inherited all of Aquitaine and south France was English for a while, with the title switching between Angelterre and Aquitaine every other ruler or so (the line eventually went full French). The French and English-Aquitaines were fighting for territory constantly until the French chopped the English possessions in half and then the kingdom broke in two.
The Byzantines collapsed, got knocked all the way back to Greece, then made an all-star comeback and dominated, inheriting the smaller Orthodox kingdoms that had popped up and invading the Muslim ones. They reached from Vienna to Bahadirid at their peak before I put my wife on the throne and partitioned the empire, and they've been alternating between taking their land back and losing it again every few years.
Sicilia has been tanking everything. They took Eritrea in the troubles and south Italy. A huge Corsican Kingdom that had land in Italy consistently blocked them but the Byzies conquered the Corsicans and then fell apart, and the Sicilians filled the vacuum by taking the land from the Byzantines.
Spain was half Muslim when a crusade took south Spain and gave it to the Irish (I tag switched and renamed Al-Anadulus or whatever to Calatrava, sounded crusadery) and Castille managed to take all of north Spain (sans the two province minor of Aragon). A huge war caused the realm to be split between Castille and Portugal however, and eventually the Portugese lost land to Leon and Aragon took much of Castille, and the realm is now no more united than it was in 1066.
The Golden Horde conquered most of the east of course, and winded their way through the Pechenegs to Poland with Novgorod being the only surviving state. They converted to Catholicism soon after and that spelled the end for eastern paganism. I worked hard to dick them over though and after I freed Poland and placed by cousin on the throne, the Pechenegs and Vladimir broke off and the rest soon followed.
Denmark owned Sweden for a while, and me, Denmark, Norway and Sweden were constantly fighting to move the land between Billung, Estrid and Yngling. I've more or less come out on top, but the heir to Sweden (if the current queen doesn't fuck her husband already and pop out another heir) will go to her Pagan grandson, which will certainly be a spanner.
Finland was split until around the time the Golden Horde converted, and the Suomi converted as well. They were initially a OPM but tanked it out and spread Christianity through the sword, and Karelia is their last rival (Norlanti is currently fighting for independence).
Islam is pretty much gone. After they were knocked out of Spain, a crusade was called on Jerusalem which was successful. After some time, Alexandria was crusaded too and I managed to get my brother on the throne made there. However, he died too soon and his daughter, who had married some Nubian prick, took over and the land left my dynasty. They've been fighting with the few remaining Muslims in the south (Shirazi and Adal, who are now collapsing) but they've managed to turn Miaphysitism into the name of the game in Egypt. Abyssinia and Sennar are also Miaphysite and all of east Africa is Miaphysite too.
We crusaded for Tripoli and I slipped in when we had the Muslims on the line and managed to put my second cousin on the throne there, and made sure he already had a family of happy Billungs. Same thing happened with Morocco (whenever we won a Crusade I tag switched and renamed the country). Morocco was Irish too and Ireland is now split between Morocco and Calatrava.
Jerusalem fell around 100 years ago but we crusaded again recently and knocked the last major Muslim threat to Europe out and I got yet another family member into Jerusalem.
The Balts were the last pagans in Europe but I holy warred them and have been giving their land to the holy orders. Kurland and Livland were given to the Teutons and Estonia was given to the Knight's Hospitaller. The Livonians ended up converting and taking back most of Estonia and then when Jerusalem came around again, the Knight's Hospitaller were vassalized and the land is now Jerusalem's European possession.
I've been working towards not blobbing, and to try and move my family into positions of power (it's to the point where I don't even have to actively work towards it anymore, they're just doing it on their own). Other notables is that the woman I put on the Byzantine throne was Catholic and Novgorod is the only major Orthodox realm left. The only pagan realms left outside of Africa are Karelia, Mordva and Cheremisa and I'm counting down the days until they fall. Also, Shia fell to Sikri and Sunni fell to Druze.

Hungary and Poland just merged.
Can you not convert your religion as a decision in CK2 anymore?

did they make the provinces bigger or is that just region map mode???
Can you not convert your religion as a decision in CK2 anymore?
Think you can still.
My first religious league war:

[t]http://puu.sh/cHzQG/a2dd85fdac.jpg[/t]
I just finished up a bloody war with Russia ending in a white peace. I wish Russia had joined the Protestant League (maybe they will eventually?). France has around 100k troops, but between Spain, Austria and myself (and England if the AI can handle transportation), this shouldn't be too hard.
Also, I seem incapable of getting good generals, and my enemies get continuous 3 star ones. Anything I can do?
edit: yeah we just fucking spanked the Protestant pigs.
High Military Tradition improves your Generals
High Military Tradition improves your Generals
Clearly I can't get mine high enough...
And for some reason I thought there could be more than one Religious League war. Now I'm upset that mine was so absurdly lame and easy.
Is AOW worth buying? My credit card keeps on vetoing the purchase.
After a few patches it will be.
So with this new patch, how do I go over to feudalism without having to worry the factions going to be 800% of my liege's levies.
