"In the raging waters, man found the shores, and saw the land that Aroth had given them. The land was bountiful and filled, and was perfect had it not been for the bitter intrusion of the Old Peoples.
The great king's led man from ship to shore and brought sword to those who had infested their land, and the Old Peoples were cast out to the sea, much like man had from his old home.
And when the war's were over and man stood alone in this land, they named it Arothia after the god who had delivered them, and began rebuilding their old empires.
But the god's were wroth, and betrayed their children. Aroth came down into the middle land, and guided man as he would a slave. King and commoner found servitude, and man was disposed of their own thrones.
The god's playthings we had become, but playthings we would not remain."
~Passage 12, The Aukterian, dated 2 AR (Imperial Era)
Essaria was initially founded by the hordes of refugees fleeing their home in the lost continent of Wesseron. Human ships landed in the thousands, representatives from nearly every nation hitting the shores of Arothia in everything from warships to hastily built rafts. Nearly ten million men and women entered Arothia in the events known as the Eastern Journey, and nearly twice that number died either in the sea or in the months following. As they tried to set up some semblance of order, old kings trying to revive their kingdoms in a new land and thousands of settlers moving forth to make their own, they came in contact with the native species of Elves and Dwarves. The foreign species quickly took offense to the intruders presence and Human settlers wished to take the land for themselves, and conflict was practically assured to happen.
The following wars only ended when the Elves and Dwarves themselves were expelled from the land, using their own fleets to go east where they displaced the Low Elves in turn. The Humans named the land Arothia, after the father of Humans, Aroth, and set about organizing it much as their old lands were, including the killing of each other. The god's were horrified by the great slaughters however, and Aroth and his brothers came down to take lead of Humanities fate themselves. Humankind had proven that it was unable to bear the burden of self determination, and the god's would lead them personally.
Nearly 3,000 years later, Humanity rebelled against their masters and took the thrones of Arothia for themselves in the Wars of Reckoning, renaming it Essaria after their leader, Essar. Essar founded the Essarian Empire not long after, uniting the rebels under one banner, which would lead Humanity for nearly 500 years. After the Empire collapsed, the many vassal king's and emperor's found independence and began forging their own realms.
This was 500 yeas ago. The first start date, The Northern Campaign, takes place in 1,000 AR (After Reckoning).
So, I said to myself "I'm going to cheat in HOI3"
Said cheats being Instant Construction and Instant Research
I forgot said cheats also effect the AI.
Welp.

They're just a Georgian nation with cores in 4/6 of the Georgian provinces. There's nothing specially about them forming, it's just surprisingly fat.
I've never seen them form.
Human vassal of the Ottomans? You're playing with someone who submitted to kebab?
I've never seen them form.
Human vassal of the Ottomans? You're playing with someone who submitted to kebab?
Supposedly he's a IRL friend of the ottomans or something
I've never seen them form.
Happens quite easily, really.
did a hands off BlackICE 7.0, the war in europe ended May 28th 1945, 20 days after it did IRL.
Also the Allies completely took Europe and Balkans, the soviets are back behind Poland.

I guess that's one way to win in China.
How has there not been a mod for any period of China for CK2 yet?
http://forum.paradoxplaza.com/forum/showthread.php?588964-Mod-Umbra-Spherae ?
Oh shit, thanks. Looks like it's got some difficulties with CM and doesn't appear to have an update plan.
There's Tianxia to look forward to whenever it comes out (if it comes out) as well.
Guess I need to play the waiting game.
Is there anyway to get around HOI3PosEd throwing a fit when you load BlackICE? It complains about the new province buildings like fortresses.

You would need to mod it to add the new buildings.
saw this posted in LMAO Pics. Quoted for posterity.

How come the orthodox russians of 1066 aren't feudal? Most of the provinces in russia are feudal yet you start off several decades before being able to become feudal. I get why it's the case with pagans and in Sunni tribes in the steppe, but otherwise I don't get it.
Oh, one thing I forgot to mention, at some point in my Hands Off BlackICE HOI3 game, Vichy France sided with the Allies and conquered Italy. The eventually got reintegrated with Free France though.
Some of the Saudis are also tribes still despite being in a giant empire, it is a mystery.
Tribal Russia in 1066 is probably an oversight (or maybe it's an half-assed attempt to ensure that the principalities remain divided?).
But I don't see what's wrong with tribal Arabia?
I'm having some issues with CK2 in that launching it from steam just doesn't do anything. Watching from the task manager shows the game launching and promptly killing itself.
The hardware I'm running right now is pretty atrocious, but my understanding is that it should at least be able to try, shouldn't it?

Looks to my uneducated eyes like something insufficient RAM would do.

There was also a HoI4 stream today

12:35 in. The music sounds great. Very HOI2. heck I think they're HOI2 themes redone.
Note, the DLC isn't an open beta, the Major Patch to come with it is what is open beta.
Jesus Christ finally! CK2 has been in dire need of more RPG mechanics since release.
I hope it adds some meaningful character interactions and not just events about banging your courtiers.

Hey, if you're playing a kid you also get events where you make childhood friends and push your educator off a ledge!
