Meh, I'm not sure if HoI4 will be interesting enough for me to get it.
There's probably quite a few modders who won't jump ship to 4 yet.
[editline]24th November 2014[/editline]
Actually the best thing they could do is make their scripting language more powerful, add flag/name changing and conditional logic.
They been shown to add new Modding hooks in EU4 and CK2 through patches, maybe they'll add Flags/Name Changes in the future if it is requested enough.
It just depends on how popular HoI4 gets.
It doesn't matter if they jump ship, because HOI3 is so annoying to mod and so few people do it. Newer Paradox games have much larger audiences and many more modders, which is why I'm sure HoIIV is going to have a shitton of awesome mods.
Sure, but DH also has a larger modding community, even tho that isn't an CK2/EU4 era game.
Popularity doesn't make good mods, talent does. HoI3's modding tools can do p. cool things, it's just that nobody has done it.
Man I love Paradox. I saw on FB that they had posted a link to a survey about their games, and at the end it said "thank you for doing our survey, as a gift for doing this you'll get a free key for Warlock II: The Exiled." and I was like "cool".
so I got an e-mail from Paradox with my key, and it said that it was actually a mistake saying they'd be giving away those keys. However, they said for those that took the survey with the mistake in it (within the first 20 minutes) are getting their keys like promised.
If that had been Activison or EA or some shit they would have said "Nope sorry it was a mistake so you're not getting it." Like seriously, that's pretty stand up of Paradox.

Ehh. They still sell non-working DLC without giving any fucks and without offering refunds afaik.
Ehh. They still sell non-working DLC without giving any fucks and without offering refunds afaik.
huh?
Ehh. They still sell non-working DLC without giving any fucks and without offering refunds afaik.
If you're referring to Charlemagne and Art of War, neither of them were buggy and shitty enough to warrant refunds at launch. Chucky had its issues, but as it goes with every game, the people who feel the need to complain are always the loudest and the people who enjoy it are playing it.

Converter
It has yet to be fixed
[editline]24th November 2014[/editline]
Oh also American Dream is still broken beyond all hell
That is only 2 examples, I say that is pretty good.
That is only 2 examples, I say that is pretty good.
There shouldn't be a single example...
Yeah I mean the converter for instance. At the very least they should put a notice on the store page warning consumers that it isn't compatible with the current EU4 and CK2 versions.
I just don't understand how they're ok with doing this, not only because it isn't very nice to the people who buy their stuff expecting it to work, but also because it's terrible for their image.

I don't think they care considering they have niche audience, kind of like that publisher for Gary Grigsby's War in the East, it's on record how they don't give a fuck about the pricing of their Grognard games because they know someone with a niche interest will still buy it.

How is American Dream broken? I'm just wondering
How is American Dream broken? I'm just wondering
It didn't work with CoP's colonial nations. The devs have argued that the DLC was only supposed to work with the historical 1776 USA but this was never specified anywhere.
here is the HOI4 map video for those who missed it

Paradox's audience has become less niche and I think they need to learn they can't pull that kind of shit anymore.
Side note, they added the Gulf of Trieste, and got rid of oversized Venice

Have they ever given an explanation why there's no Xibei, Communist China and Guanxi and why Nationalist China is just China?

So they can sell it in China? I dunno.
Looking at that video I'm not sure I like where HOI is going in the scale of armies, it seems like theres alot less troops in the scale of things. I'd really prefer having lots of divisions to micromanage and provinces for methods of attack.

Tibet's independent so it's banned in China anyway.
Some of the warlords are well revered in Chinese history so it doesn't make much sense, Manchuko is also just straight up owned by the Japanese which is incorrect.
arghh my merge

That could be puppets being given the master's name on the map a la Vicky 2.
Also you're welcome :v:
Do anyone here play SR:2020? I never see Supreme Ruler series get mentioned here.
What I am curious is, have you ever seen Israel survive? I only played the game twice, and Syria invaded Israel in a year or two. On both occasions, and easily.

Is that game even good, I've been debating getting Supreme Ruler Ultimate, but I'm worried I'm going to get it and it's going to be so complex I'm not going to be able to play it.

Aye i'm worried it might get too streamlined and dumbed down from the amount of divisions to what we've seen of the research and the apparent lack of strategic resources and i just noted the amount of manpower germany has at 36 is only 40k instead of 300k something it is in HoI3.
This game fucks me up. My wife just had a lesbian affair with my sister.

see if this was anywhere else I'd be questioning your life choices.
Adding characters has to be the most mind nunmbingly boring task I've ever done.
Anyone want to help? It's super fun is what I'm trying to say, you'd love it.
Are the EU3 expansions any good (HTTT and DW)?
[sp]and is it possible if one of you could buy it for me <3[/sp]

I love SR2020. Friends and I would always play as US states during the shattered world scenario. Main problems we had involved the combination of pretty bad multiplayer lag + the just massive timescale required to have significant advances in technology. Plus, in my opinion/experience anyway, the game got really difficult to manage when you finally got those huge armies. I hated turning them loose under AI control as opposed to manually managing small armies/navies/air forces, etc.
I have been meaning to try the newest SR, which I believe is WW2 era.
