Paradox Interactive Thread: V2 The cartographers nightmare.

Oh god, I decided to pick up CK2 after a friend of mine recommended it to me.
Help, I can't stop playing.
[editline]7th December 2014[/editline]
Also I got the Jeanne D'arc event and I've managed to remove her celibate trait. The woman's milking my character dry, I have so many children, Jesus Christ.
So Charlemagne was released when I was going through bootcamp. How bad is it? Did they keep the completely illogical Visgothic culture?

Just a thought...why isn't the cultural name for people who live in Osserech something like Osserechen or Osserechien rather than Osserech's? It's far more fluid to me.

Well Visigothic is called Visigothic but it really is an Iberian culture so it's not that bad.
On the other hand Galicia is 100% Suebi central Germanic, even in 867.

There is an actual Osserech culture, that dominates the Osserech nobility. However, the Imperium is large and politically disunited, and culture spread is very slow.

The damn Syndies have won the war in Europe
When did syndies lose the war in Europe anyway
Playing Crusader kings 2
My marshal who liked me more than any one else in my kingdom had my only child murdered.
My wife has decided to not have sex again and has -1000% fertility and my character is very old and about to die.
My dynasty is doomed before I had a single heir.
I like this game.
You should try some of their mods, like the GoT mod or the historical immersion mod.
They flesh out existing features and adds a ton more
The mod's going along great. Paradox forums loved it and I just got my first team member, LDRevolution of the Birthright mod. He's helping me fix some problems and reorganize the mod, and we just added in BTPortraits, Syren's Nicknames, Additional Objectives 2.0 and Cultural Cities. We're also planning to use Waylit's Dungeons and Sieges, some flavor stuff from GoT and Witcher Kings as well as the traits used in the GoT mod (including the fighter system.)
If anyone has any suggestions, I'd love to hear them.
I don't understand why Orthodox and Catholicism are treated as separate for dates before 1066. The split between the two only occurred around 1054, so why does the game treat them as different things for our two earlier dates available? Do you guys think it has to do with trying to represent how cultural differences affected religious interpretation or something? It doesn't make too much sense to me why Paradox made that choice.

I think a case can be made for them being distinct enough in 867, but in 769 it's really a stretch.

Where is that?
Where is that?
Intrigue menu, near the bottom.

One of us is misunderstanding the other. It looks like (in the posts you've mentioned it) "Osserech's" is how you're describing people living within the empire. The apostrophe just seems awkward to me, so I offered those two suggestions.

Ah, that's because it's named after a person. Some guy called Osserech united the northern tribes and they all called themselves the Osserech's in his honor.

/gsg/posting aside, which ideas should I take as Pate and where should I expand? I already took the Lamu province, but Kilwa annexed my ally Mombasa and is allied with Malindi so I can't take that province.
Ajuuran is also too strong, should I make my way across the indian ocean to Sumatra?
oh and are 1.8.1 saves compatible with 1.9

never understood how that insult became popular lol
playing the Rurikid dynasty from 867, do Orthodox missionaries ever visit pagan realms or is it just Catholic missionaries?
why is my post being rated dumb? it is clearly sarcastic (except for the last parts where i needed help) and it really does sum up /gsg/

As far as I know all Christians and Muslims can send missionaries to Pagans, I at least know that Orthodox, Catholic, and Sunni rulers can.
Considering missionaries from all kinds of sects happen far as I can remember, I should say so. I remember getting stuff like Nestorian missionaries while playing as Muslims.
Can anyone help me with the last question, though?
I'm stuck between a rock and a hard place, Kilwa and Ajuuraan are eyeing me viciously.
