It's best used in conjunction with the national bank idea to squeeze more money out of minting without going overboard with inflation.

so i started a new game in CKII as Norway, and took Normandy, and England. But Harold was deposed and I can't hold 44 Demenes. Dear lord, that feel apart quicker than I thought it would have.

Chances are if someone's military score is substantially higher than yours then they have both the ships and the soldiers to back it up. Countries with a lower military score than yours will still fight you, it's happened to me although I think it's only when they have allies to back them up or if you're already involved in another war elsewhere.

I say don't give a lot of land to your main family mainly because of title claimants.

But I'll keep that in mind when I get to a bigger Empire.

Fuck Victoria 2 I was playing as Austria doing fairly well, taking Ottoman Europe. Suddenly Prussia and all her allies declare war on me, I manage to defeat Prussia but all her allies are still at war with me including Great Fucking Britain. Then almost as soon as I beat Prussia, Italy declares war on me to get back Venice, I do fairly well in beating Italy back, then France declares war on me because apparently have war declared on me gives me more imfamy then it does them, then France's ally Russia declares war on me for no reason. So despite doing nothing wrong, I'm currently at war with Italy, France, Britain, most German States and Russia and I didn't do anything wrong. Also Heart of Darkness disables the Yesmen cheat so there's nothing I can do.

My game as Egypt saw me stuck at rank 9 and 10 for the entire game before a load of great powers declared war on me at once. (Russia, the UK and the US to be exact) I'm now playing as China because fuck the West.

If the world saw Austria conquering the Balkans they would see two things. Austria becoming too powerful and Austria with an incredibly weakened military. Of course they would invade you to put you down to size and conquer back their rightful lands.

I love Victoria 2 but the one fucking thing that always just pisses me off is how Manpower is a social class. Fuck no it isn't. People joined the military to get away from things and it also completely ignores the concept of conscription.

I think British India is a bit OP since the rebellions are microscopic and the amount of troops provided makes Britain nearly impossible to match.
