Is thee some sort of Manifest Destiny casus belli can use on Mexico as the US in Vicky 2?
I think you need Romanticism and at least 50 prestige, there's a decision named Manifest Destiny which gives you cores on those provinces, then it's a simple war for your cores.
Get Romanticism, it'll unlock a decision to get cores on the continental US, that'll give you your CB. Oh dammit.
Just got Old gods yesterday. I have NO IDEA what i'm doing. Why do i lose my lands when i give some titles, while not with others? I'm king. Shouldn't Jarls me below me? What is the hierarchy in that? Also why can a small country amass 6k soldiers against me in my first "turn" and then when i go play them, they can only raise 800. How am i supposed to expand!?

Jarls are Norse Dukes who have bent their knees to a King.
Just annexed poland in 10 days in DH Feels pretty good
how? im playing ger (started from '33) and france declared war on me in april of '39 before I signed molotov-ribbentrop and they've broken through into the rhineland. maybe i shouldn't have spent all the time upgrading my inf into motorized how should i play ger from '33?
EvW has been delayed to Q1 2014 because of marketing reasons http://forum.paradoxplaza.com/forum/showthread.php?691569-The-official-East-vs-West-information-post&p=15547212&viewfull=1#post15547212 They think releasing in the second half of the year is risky for sales.
Don't blame them, there are a lot of complex government simulators coming out this fall, don't want to compete with them.
howcouldthishappen.wav
Muslims get an Invade Casus Belli which can be used to take over whole kingdoms for the cost of some Piety. The only requirement for this casus belli is a border.
I don't mind EvW getting delayed, even by this much. It's just that there should be a larger stream of information, and they shouldn't have called it a small delay.
It's over. It's all over, the Roman Empire is crumbling before the might of the grand prince of all of Russia!
Switzerland.
Switzerland.
Converters aren't perfect, sadly. I'll probably just tag switch to Muscovy and annex them because it feels weird seeing them in Russia. The war just finished as well. [t]http://cloud-2.steampowered.com/ugc/902124017344635188/27F85F93CD05F6F924201C534DD1BEDFCED8CD87/[/t]

[t]http://imageshack.us/a/img153/8471/abloodymess.png[/t] Old Gods really fucks with the world
So turns out, my 79 year old Norse King of Scotland was the best fighter of all time. [t]http://i.imgur.com/HLzP4QM.jpg[/t] Pretty good for a guy with no bones.
Is it realistic to hope to play The Old Gods up to at least 1066? or is it too much like Total War, where every faction suddenly becomes a giant empire in spite of history.
Is it realistic to hope to play The Old Gods up to at least 1066? or is it too much like Total War, where every faction suddenly becomes a giant empire in spite of history.
The Pagans blob like crazy and the remnants of the Carolingian Empire constantly trade hands due to wonky inheritances. So no, don't expect much history by 1066.
CK2 is great. I started as an Earl or something in Ireland. Acquired a few provinces through falsified claims. Then I married a Norwegian princess and I got a son. This son now has a weak claim on the Kingdom of Norway. After he grew up I swore fealty to Norway. Then started a faction to make my son King of Norway, which the current King of Norway didn't like. So he started a war against me. Apparently Norway is really splitted and I managed to persuade 4 other vassals to join the war. I get a warscore of over 80%, then my cash ran out, and I ragequitted :v:
I am making a new vow to not start a war until I have a shitload of money, Because I keep going in debt.
I am making a new vow to not start a war until I have a shitload of money, Because I keep going in debt.
What are you doing that makes you go into debt, hiring a bunch of mercs or something?
I am making a new vow to not start a war until I have a shitload of money, Because I keep going in debt.
I had a steady supply of cash, but I got a bit desperate towards the end of the war and hired a bunch of mercs.
I have no clue how to establish myself as Sjælland at all. No economy and barely enough Levy to make a dent in anything at all.
I have no clue how to establish myself as Sjælland at all. No economy and barely enough Levy to make a dent in anything at all.
I've played Sjælland twice, both times resulted in a Scandinavian Empire extremely early. Just rush the small counties to the south, and work your way up along the coast to Finland. Holy war the crap out of people there. In Old Gods, it's even easier. Raid up 400'ish gold, hire some mercs and blitzkrieg handfuls of territories in the same war. In Old Gods, you just war the crap out of people with mercs. Without Old Gods, try to marry into Sweden/Norway. It's usually pretty easy.
My main issue with the vikings is that damned succession. I'm Norse scottish, so I have almost 0% chance of reforming it.
My main issue with the vikings is that damned succession. Just murder your spouse. The money helps handling anyone who doesn't like you murdering people.
I've figured out a way to get around the new gavelkind system. Every time you have a new son that's so and so in the line, FUCKING MAKE HIM A BISHOP :buddy: I'll post screenshots of my current game later, what happened is that by 950ish, the game is like opposite of what it normally is. Hungary got curbstompped and put into its place and is constantly losing ground, christianity is spreading and is strong, Tengri pretty much fell apart after the first reform around the year 900, I kept Bulgaria and Byzantium strong with my alliances, I've been playing as Great Moravia and am only like 3 counties short of making the Wendish empire and my dyansty is strong. The only real places that the Norse have conquered are the shores of eastern Europe, though I'm mopping them up little by little, and England. They got repelled everywhere else.
Problem is my vassals get pissed at me because I am raising their men too long, but my personal army is too small to take on the enemy. So I have to use Holy Order people or hire mercs.
I want to get into these games I have ck2 and victoria 2, which I got from amazon. I've only touched crusader kings so far since that seems to be the setting that interests me most. I've tried going through the tutorial in the game, but I find it to be a little unstructured since it gives you 3 options at the end of each tutorial, and it feels like I end up missing some information every time i try to go through it. Is there a video series or a good site that will help me learn this game a bit better?

No idea what other people think of him but i found it helpful. Just learn by watching more or less.
