My fucking god, my son in CK2 is the weakest bitch in the entire game. I started as a duke in Ireland. I manage to press a claim for him over the Kingdom of Norway, spent over 300 gold, forge allies, defeat 10k+ soldiers and achieve 100% victory. The war took almost 4 years and the planning maybe 10 years. It took him 3 months to lose the title "King of Norway" ..........
I've been cheating again :v: [editline]8th June 2013[/editline]
Is that Darkest Hour?
Been playing Hearts of Iron 3 as Sweden and the only cheat I used was no neutrality at the start. Been licensing a lot of tech from the UK and have been building up a huge army. Started out by invading and occupying the baltic countries, from there I built up about 20 thousand more units, then invaded Denmark. From denmark I received about 4 times as much IC and I started to rapidly expand my military, although it's mainly infantry and marines. From Denmark I annexed Ireland and from there Portugal. After Portugal I built up units to garrison the colonial provinces and then went and built up some landing crafts after buying them from my good buddy Britain. After obtaining the landing crafts and having my range boosted by 500 miles, I invaded Haiti, the Dominican Republic, Cuba and Ecuador. Great and fair Swedish Monarchy expands and expands. I've pretty much left Norway to its own devices and I might just invade it. [editline]8th June 2013[/editline] I really want EvW. The main problem with HOI3 is that there's only like 20 countries with eight major ones. There's an extremely little amount of variety for such a huge game. [editline]8th June 2013[/editline] I'd conquer all of South America if it weren't for those dang United States fellows being like, "EVERYONE BUT ECUADOR WILL BE A FREE NATION!
I'd conquer all of South America if it weren't for those dang United States fellows being like, "EVERYONE BUT ECUADOR WILL BE A FREE NATION!
Typically the US doe jackshit for like the first several months of your war(s) though, so you still have plenty of time to warmonger before they can actually muster a decent force to deal with you. I did a Colombia runthrough a exp or two back, managing to invade several nations before the US decided it was high-time to intervene 1-2 years into one of my conflicts.
I tried invading places as Brazil and the U.S killed me in one month. I bet they said hue hue hue as they wrecked my shit.
I'm thinking of getting a buddy of mine (who never played a paradox game before but he loves civ) to play one of the paradox games in multiplayer with me. Would you guys agree that Darkest Hour is the best way to start for multiplayer?

I don't want the fucking risk.
Is that Darkest Hour?
Darkest Hour with the 'Mixed Mod' http://forum.paradoxplaza.com/forum/showthread.php?657199-Mixed-Mod
Considering Hearts of Iron is a straight up war game with all the focus on combat, why wouldn't it be the best place to start?
Considering Hearts of Iron is a straight up war game with all the focus on combat, why wouldn't it be the best place to start?
It has so much sheer detail put into it that new guys can't grasp the scope of wargaming at such a scale. And it only gers good with DLC.

I have no idea why people say HoI3 is hard, can put just about everything on AI and learn whatever you want at your own pace.
Hm, something is happening at March 23, 1936 that is causing my Darkest Hour game to freeze. [editline]9th June 2013[/editline] something to do with Germany, because if I play as them, it won't freeze, but as soon as I switch to another country, the game will freeze the next day.
Just kidnapped the prince and heir of Byzantium while raiding. This game hahahahahah!!! Am i right in assuming that if i force a marriage upon him with a daughter and they have a child, i get a claim?
So guys, playing CO2, started as King of Scotland, and created Britannia. Even got a piece of Norway, too. What next? Should I make King of England, Ireland etc. a different person then myself? Also, does anybody knows hiw to deal with annoying factions? There is always that whiny bitch that goes "Elective Monarchy for England", end up revolting with 110% of my troops.
Iceland just rebelled from Canada and declared war on them in my Darkest Hour game. I'll let you think that over.

Make one of your less ambitious sons king. But only when you've got the Empire of brittania going or you can wave it all bye bye. Be sure to chose a son without ambition and intrigue or he will fuck you.
Iceland just rebelled from Canada and declared war on them in my Darkest Hour game. They fucking did everything and just completely screwed the Japs up. Philippines was like New Canada and they annexed Japan, it was awesome.

So basically, in my Darkest Hour game, I gave Germany and Japan every tech in 1933, but nothing else, it was up to them to build everything. history played out nearly 1:1 to real life until 1936 when japan declared war on China and kicked them to the curb. Germany declared war on Poland/Allies in 39 like normal and steamrolled Europe including the British isles (minus Northern and Southern Ireland) by January 1940. UK collapses and Canada annexed what was left. Iceland and Jamaica rebelled. But Canada and what is left of the British Commonwealth are holding North Ireland against an Enemy that is 20+ years more advanced. South Africa has swallowed nearly half of Africa. Germany has beaten the Soviet Union back to Ural mountains and made peace.
How exactly do you upgrade the research levels and such. Trying to cause a Hellenic reformation in Crusader Kings, literally impossible to do it from inside the Byzantine Empire because the Emperor will just revoke all your titles.
These green NATO counters makes my eyes bleed.
What am I looking at?
that's a good question, where did the unit come from. Hes running a mod because the Russian Federation is not in HOI3 by default.
What am I looking at?
The Russian Federation unit attacking the Reich with the Red Army :v: The mod is August Storm if youre wondering, it goes past 1948 and adds more countrys like Ukraine, Russia and stuff like that.

When paradox do sequels to their games, do those sequels make use of the features they released in the expansions of the game before it? Or is it more of an EA, Maxis deal where you're just buying and re-buying everything again. essentially an elaborate scam.

Also the territories are either permanently blank, like a desert, or you have to send explorers/conquistadors attached to an army/navy to see them. Colonizable territories are almost the same shade of grey though.
