Continuing where we left off last time
On the 3rd of April, 1947 the British, America, Allied offensive in the African theater is going well so far, the Italians accompanied by some Expeditionary forces of the Reich are almost completely encircled controling the Suez straight will be a vital component for the Allies allowing vital flow of supply routes potentially starving supplies to the now Axis controlled Republic of China to the east.

April 28th
All the while in the east the spread of Facism brings another government to join its cause and Manchuko officially becomes an Axis member, what this means for the American forces remains to be seen as fighting on the Korean peninsula is sure to intensify as more troops are stationed in Japan and the surrounding region.

May 10th, 1947
Our port officials have informed us that a new British Army Group has arrived in Northern Occupied Turkey, the British offensive appears to be renewed with troops mobilized to fight in a new South East Asian campaign it seems there will be no rest for conflict between the Allies and the Axis as the war wages near is 9 year mark.
[thumb]http://imgkk.com/i/89h2.png[/thumb]
While Iran has chosen to abstain from any direct combat our countrymen have been hard at work building vital infrastructure routes to allow the American and British forces to have a steady stream of supplies and roads to reach their objectives easily, as what can an army do without the infrastructure to support it?

June 2nd, 1947
The Americans have finally created and used their first nuclear weapon in the Chinese-American war, the bomb was detonated on the City of Taihu shortly after 7 PM GMT, widespread destruction and fires have been reported and the destruction of Industry and millions of lives will no doubt be a crippling blow to the fighting spirit of the Chinese but it is not over yet, the conventional war continues in the Korean peninsula but treachery is afoot, seeing an opportunity the RPC (Republic of China) has taken the advantage to press their claims on Manchukuo creating a two front war they cannot possible hope to win against with the Americans pressing in on their southern flank.

April 3rd, 1947
Reports from our Foreign Minister have indicated the British capture of Egypt as the wars momentum seems to be swinging in the Allies favor, the British pressing their advantage push further west seeking to control more ports denying the Italians any respite.
[thumb]http://imgkk.com/i/qzb-.png[/thumb]
The French while the first of the major powers to be subdued by the Germans in the war have not lost the will to fight with their last remaining Military might rushing to aid the Americans in the South East Asian war.
[thumb]http://imgkk.com/i/p6x1.png[/thumb]
4th of Novemeber 1947 as fighting intensifies in the area surrounding the Korean Peninsula America forces on the offensive continue to push back both Manchukuo's forces and the PRC, the three-side war clearly favoring the Americans now. The final reign of the Emperors in China all but seems to be coming to an end now with the destruction of the final remnant of the once glorious Qing Dynasty.
[thumb]http://imgkk.com/i/44-o.png[/thumb]
Following the conquest of Japan the Axis controlled government of Thailand was freed allowing it to create a foothold for British forces to retake Indochina from the PRC with the aid of the British Raj and British Burma the Allies are making a wide hard to defend front for the Chinese Generals and more and more land is ceded in every day of fighting.

December 16th, 1947
Iceland has joined the Allies, a horde of viking special forces has no doubt been created to raid Berlin.
[thumb]http://imgkk.com/i/n9hg.png[/thumb]
February 5th, 1948,
The American superpower once again shows its crippling technological superiority with the 3rd Nuclear Device dropped on the PRC of Changsha, even so they seem hesitant to surrender; the post-war China will no doubt be a different landscape.
[thumb]http://imgkk.com/i/z_ke.png[/thumb]
June 1st, 1948,
In a surprise coastal invasion American marines have stormed ports in Northern Indochina and taken control of the surrounding area the war seems grim for the PRC and its surrender no doubt looms over the horizon with their forces battered and broken morale is at an all time low and things are no better in the north.

June 2nd 1948,
Yet another nuclear bomb is dropped in the PRC, this time in the city of Yongfu the implications are yet to be seen.
[thumb]http://imgkk.com/i/yy3b.png[/thumb]
June 10th 1948,
American forces stormed the capital building of Manchukuo, marking the end of a millennia of Dyanstic rule. The Emperor rather than be captured brought about the end of his own life and was found to be hanging from a tree in his home, a bitter reminder of another Foreign power ending the reign of the previous Ming Dynasty.

That map... it's beautiful. Even Quebec and Brazil are in the right spots.
Hey Lone Wolf, you leave China and Germany alone! The two empires must not fall!

So how do you go about these? Do you use converters and then alter the world yourself? I've never seen the AI do so well in these cases.

He's doing some hand converting but other than that he's using some conversion utilities and in-game editing tools, afaik
[QUOTE=scout1;41204998]He's doing some hand converting but other than that he's using some conversion utilities and in-game editing tools, afaik[/QUOTE]Pretty much this. I primarily use the Clausewitz editor as well since it helps to know firsthand what I'm even doing in the first place.
I think I'm going to play as a Southern Slav in CK2, which of them should I choose?
(I want to avoid Bulgaria because it would be pretty easy then.)
gaaaaaaah
I want EvW so badly!

You got pissed real fast. How about you hold off with the angry backseat modding?
*mutters about these angry entitled teens these days*
Is there an easy way to make coats of arms for holdings in CK2? Maybe a template? Elder Kings has tons of red ?s all over the shop, gets a bit annoying.
[QUOTE=Bomimo;41206840]Your avatar. What is it and just WHAT is going on with it?[/QUOTE]
Its from [URL="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Persepolis_%28film%29"]persepolis[/URL]
In CK2, is it ever worth it to get the experimental trait after a battle? Unpredictability +30 seems like a rather dubious benefit, especially when compared to the actual applicable numbers of all the other traits.
I have NO clue how to survive a gavelkind succession. Everyone hates me and no matter what, my brother deposes me and i have NO means of improving his opinion of me. Goddamn That's an entire empire down the drain... 48 hours. Kinda pisses me off.

A good way to survive is to maintain your control over a certain region, while gradually expanding and putting your family as the heads of different titles, or marrying them off carefully to where they'll get claims on other titles. A Hapsburg approach to it can really help if you don't fuck it up and use your main line to marry off powerful people, since there's title disputes. Generally slowly expand and don't build up something you can't afford to lose. You should mainly be keeping your powerbase in check until you're able to get high authority and implement primogeniture, then you can go nuts.
[editline]27th June 2013[/editline]
Generally don't try to centralize something too much. That's where the main problems come in and although you're powerful, you'll be spending most of your time dealing with bickering nobles and constant invasions.

So in essence, i grew way too fast (Scandinavia in 910 + Britain 930 + various duchies/counties in northern europe) with not enough actual crown authority (low). The thing is, my family ARE the kings that want to depose me. they figure THEY have the right to the throne. None of them have ambitious traits or anything of the like. at my current autosave, i have about a year to save the situation with no military to quell their rebellion and no means of improving their opinion.
These factions man... If i accept getting deposed, the king of England becomes emperor and i'm stuck in Sjælland, Denmark as a vassal of either the emperor or my goddamn brother, King of Denmark. well. At least i ninja'd Venice. I could go down there and start a new life with a republic. It's not like i even aggressively went for this empire. My first emperors wife was the heir of Northumberland and i invaded Mercia after taking a bit of sweden. Then with that army, i thundered through scandinavia in one quick move and created the empire within 45 years from the start date. The actual reason for this was that i'd started to get a ton of Jarl vassals and had brainlessly started to form kingdoms only to discover that Gavelkind would fuck me hard unless i rushed into an empire.
Why do i feel like i'm laying out a Starcraft 2 rush strategy?
I feel so screwed.

Ha, someone added Snoop Dog as leader of Niger. However, I do think its cool that they outsource some of the history research to the fans since there are clearly people who know far more of the politics in certain countries than the developers.
It looks like the country name scales to the size of the territory it's on. Canadian territory is bigger then the mainland USA, that is why the name is bigger.
It's been like that since Vicky 2.
I wish Crusader Kings had the whole world available. I want to discover North America in 960, as it truly was. I want to reach the far east, where the Vikings learned to make their blades. But nope.
[QUOTE=Paul McCartney;41217112]It's been like that since Vicky 2.[/QUOTE]
Yeah, but now the Text goes over water provinces as well because they count as territory, so the text gets even bigger.
I thought the vikings used something that was a variant of the Spatha with metal that was bought in Ingots from the Byzantines.
[QUOTE=Tuskin;41217174]Yeah, but now the Text goes over water provinces as well because they count as territory, so the text gets even bigger.[/QUOTE]
This is what I mean, in Vic2 or other games the text would just stick to the land, not go over water provinces like here.

AFAIK, they used a folding technique very reminiscent of the ones used for katanas. They'd have to learn that somewhere or teach it to someone.

Also, there's a mod that does (almost) just that but I don't know if it's been updated to latest CK2 patch.
