I think it's because of the names and because of the absurdity of many situations. Plus the maps themselves become really ugly, since the region borders are historical, but the property is ahistorical.

converted it to EU3, don't mind the window border, turns out if you take a screenshot in EU3 in windowed mode, it takes a screenshot of the entire screen, not just the game.

I start out as Earl Kenneth of Buchan.
After doing nothing of value I die 25 years old, luckily I had gotten a son and a daughter (married off to some guy) at this point
My 2nd life gets me 2 counties extra, filling up the 3/3 limit, then I died at the age of 23.
This guy had however only gotten a daughter.
My 3rd life is the best, I conquered many counties, at some point I angered the holy roman empire and they declared war (Do they even have boats, hahah they suck, /ignore), I live for like 55 years, but I start out in a non matrineal marriage by accident, so I divorce myself and then go get married with another dude and for some sick and twisted reason I didn't get a single child for 20 years (Seriously what the fuck?).
I did succeed on taking on the kingdom of England, by using 2,3k gold worth of mercenaries I win the war and claim the throne. England consisted of EVERYTHING below Scotland except 3-5 of the counties near Gwent and Cornwall, but because I was playing as a female the entire kingdom went to my brother which was born by a daughter I had married off in another life, so he was not part of my dynasty but still got everything.
Saddened by this I see the "you have lost a siege" prompt and look up at my petty kingdom to see 45k holy roman soldiers destroying absolutely everything I have, I then surrender and they take some counties or something. I notice there are 2k soldiers left, they are mercenaries that weren't happy I ran out of money after giving them over 2000 gold and started wrecking shit. My entire actual army had died long ago, so they had free reign. I decided to wait for troops because there's no way they can get 100% warscore that fast haha right then I died.

The more ridiculous the more fun as I always say. Which is why I love my converted Irish campaign from CKII to EUIII. Tyrone in the middle of France! The only true "normal" ones are myself as Ireland, Scotland, and England. Though, I'll probably play through to 1453 in CKII to get rid of the Aztecs :P

There were a bunch of weird ones located in Italy in my mega-campaign, so I modded the save in Clausewitz so they were at the very least Italian-related ones.
Yeah, it's the ''cultural identity'' part. That's why seeing the French deep in Spain just boner kills it for me. I don't even know why. It just seems wrong, even though the game is meant to be like that.
Bavaria ended up having noculture in all their provinces, any way I can fix that? vic2

I remember registering my games taking hours because of how poorly the site worked..

To be fair the auth server has a tendency to lock up, taking anywhere from 5-20 minutes to register a single game.
Then you have to register the expansions and... ugh

It used to be a lot worse, yeah, I remember having similar issues before. In the last little while they revamped the registration sheet and I've found it works a lot better now and allows a little customization for your game icons.
Considering that registration is for the purpose of whitelisting owners for tech support and mods, dumbs are justified.

For the longest time I simply couldn't log in. The login button simply did nothing. The Paradox site is still awful. It would be better if they moved everything to Steam.
