My first Eu4 game will be like my first Eu3 game. A great Portugal game.. or Tuetonic order game.
At last, I finished the Vic2 portion of my mega campaign.

I'll get to work on modding this into HoI3 eventually.
So, it appears EU4 will have an Observe mode like CK2. Mind you this is a pre-release build, it might be removed before launch, you never know.

After becoming the number 1 great power, i get involved in the Great War because i backed up my bro Occitania in the scramble for Africa. So Russa, England, France and Turkey decided that Occitania needed to be beat up, so as Germany i help of for 3 years killing massive hordes of redcoats before i finally got put down in 1899.
Fuck England.

In your timeline, Constantinople has been the capital of the Roman Empire for nearly 2 millenia.
And damn, Korea a great power!

But is there another way to do this? I don't want to have to handmake all these nations from Viccy 2, shame, HOI3 is my favorite paradox game. :(

You can have other countries gobble up smaller ones. I had to unite Germany and have Afghanistan absorb all the surrounding countries for the map to work better.
That just reminded me, does anybody know the name of that mod which randomizes territories of countries in HoI 3?

I loved that book, as well as his other altered history books. They are pretty amusing.
Can you show me how to get that font, Tuskin? I saw you link it earlier, but it was to a mod, and that definitely looks like PDM, which doesn't have that font.

Yes, I know. But how do I get the font only? I don't want the mod itself.

copy the files out of the gfx\fonts folder and place them in the vic2 font folder.

After playing Vic 2 for a while I've really come to dislike it, it seems over focused on economy personally and the combat is dull. Is Europa Univeraslis any different? I liked the game play in CK2 but it seems like each game has a different gameplay style

EU is CK 2 on a larger scale tbh. No worrying about dynasties (though with monarchies that can help you form personal unions and take over the world) it's all about the country. It focuses on tech more than CK2 does as well, in addition to naval combat.

How did all those great powers get destroyed? Just a whole lot of Dismantle Empire wargoals? (France, Russia, Austria-Hungary, etc.)

Also diplomacy kicks you in the balls really, really hard. Everyone can invoke alliances with each other, so if you attack an OPM with 1 ally, you can risk getting yourself at war with half of Europe. At least that's what happens when I play, though I'm admittedly not fantastic at the game.

The changes to trade and hoards is just awesome. I'm glad the Ottomans are getting a little more love this time.

Cascading alliances is a bitch, so it pays to be VERY prepared for that eventuality, and also to look at who is allied to who.
Does anyone know a good LP of ck2 where the player starts as a count but more interesting than a basic Ireland start? (they use intrigue among other things)
Follow Quill18, Arumba07, Shenryyr2, frewd100. Those guys do all different sorts of lets plays surrounding CK2 (including different mods, Multiplayer games, and a new series called Youtuber Succession, where everytime there is a change in succession, the next youtuber plays).

IIRC it works both ways, though. The AI will be less likely to declare on you if you're part of a big messy web of alliances.
