Oh man, Nostalgia.
I got this for my, like... twelfth birthday or some shit.
The customizable weapons were badass.
My steam games must be really unawesome because they don't even have a box
Well done reading into it.
OP , i'm entirely sure it was called the Mechagun , not meckagun
And the beam gun was called the "Polaris Blade". Well , at least that's what I gathered from the mumbling scientist before I zapped his ass
Meckagun is also Mechagun and Minigun and the Beam Gun is also the Polaris Blade.
I also had this game. I think I gave it to a friend years back. It was fun, but had zero replay value for me.

Well it had one hell of a replay value to me, especially because of the AI.
It kinda reminds me of Glados.
Hate to bump this, but this was my childhood in a nutshell. pretty cool shit
Oh god I still have that game in it's box and jewel case
I used the code on the case to register the game back in the early Steam era and instead of giving me GC like I thought it would it gave me the whole HL goldsrc collection, with CS 1.6 and the standalone CS game
I had a disk copy, the best seller one i believe... I can't seem to find it :c
That's quite a shame, I'm sure you'd be able to find a copy somewhere.
Really though, the game was quite interesting but weird at points. Had a delve into it's background and turns out the development team met each other once I believe? They've even still got a few notes to each other left in the retail build (This is in sound/weapons) :
Herb, here are all the files for the electron gun as per your _weapons doc file,
named appropriately.
Just a suggestion. The egon_off1.wav file is currently played by the weapons
dll every time the player takes their finger off the fire button. It would be
better that in the event ball lightning is produced (i.e. - the ball-fly.wav
file is played, the egon_off1.wav in this instance is _not_ played. Otherwise
it will water down the ball-fly.wav file. Just a thought..
Peter.
Also turns out the cyborg-blevo song that is found in Sven Co-Op was originally made for this game. It's quite interesting to see that it was just made by a bunch of bedroom modders, I thought this was something made by a team similar to gearbox. On a totally unrelated note, it's nice to see posts from myself 5 years ago.
