Now do 12 kills :v: becomes pretty easy when your weapon reloading is at 50.
If the main difference you see between WoT and WT is prevalence of prototypes in one, you are probably quite clueless about both games.
I would prefer to have have the WoT vehicular library but WT is a better game in many far more important aspects and I am sticking to it for that reason.
I'd rather real vehicles have a sooner focus than fantasy napkin sneezes. War Thunder has a pretty nice balance so far, but WoT is almost entirely bullshit configurations that were passed as rumors or plain didn't work.
Pushing everything else aside, especially gameplay, I still like to ogle some of the weird World of Tanks models, but readily come back to War Thunder because even if the timeframes are off, I don't have weird Frankenstein vehicles fighting one another.

I have nothing against focusing real vehicles over napkins but saying they are what makes the difference between the games is like saying that the camo uniforms are what sets ARMA apart from CoD.
Besides I would like to point out WoT did roll back all the most offending nonsense configurations wherever it was possible, namely stripping the T-34-85 of the 100mm and the SU-85 of the 107mm, and that's quite a while back. Most of the gun selections that are in the game has been at least tried out.
Meanwhile the 105mm King Tiger in WT severely pisses me off because that's a gun that didn't even EXIST on it's own, let alone in combination with the vehicle, and the performance it has makes no sense as it has the same maximal depression angle as the 88mm as well as comparable reload speed, while it should practically not fit into the turret at all and reload slower than the D-25T on IS-2 as there's only one loader in space not adjusted for two piece munition.
I don't want to play against it, I don't want to use it either. It's dumb and doesn't fit the otherwise quite puritan game at all. At least the Panther II somewhat makes sense.

Tbh I think for tanks you can get away with prototypes because the most used vehicles by any one army tend to be boring and practical whereas with aircraft a shitload of different models and types were used to begin with and prototypes only really are needed to plug holes.

They're not the driving difference, it's just a little thing that does it for me. World of Tanks, from what little I follow, did get better at removing hilariously dumb configurations (darth vader Pz IV), but it still stands that I like what War Thunder was in comparison: Little differences made a whole new tank and (most) were in historical configurations. The KV-1 feels like a big, chunky deathfort and not an up-engined, up-gunned main battle tank with a turret I've never heard of and a 85mm gun.

I spent it all on the Tu-2S-59 training and talisman so fuck youuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuu.
As per tanks, I'm not really against prototypes, least ones that are feasible and not things that clearly did not work (ie Schmalturm Pz IV), but I'd just prefer the focus to be on real tanks first, and gap pluggers/prototypes later. They've done the same thing with planes. We're missing some massively produced planes and are instead have two I-185s when we didn't quite really need them. (Not poking fun at Russia, I could look at the F-82, and a lot others.) :v:
fuck youuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuu.
You wiiiiiiiiiiiish
And on the subject of the I-185 tbh I think they're pretty decent additions to the Russian fighter line to round it out. They feel more like FW-190s; they roll well, their turning circle is shit, the high altitude performance is nowhere near as abysmally bad as the Yaks/Las, and they serve as actual BnZ planes.
And the three ShvAKS are the bane of everyones existence.

GLORIOUS PESHKA CANNOT BE HELD BACK BY ANIME RICEPAPER PLANE
Ran out of ammo in my mainguns as I went after a second bomber, dove under him, switched to gunners and ripped his wing off.
Did a airial drive-by on a Ki-49, sadly someone else got the kill.
Oh, and I forced a Hayate to crash, by following him around when he was chasing another peshka.
Kept staying above him, taking a few potshots and make it impossible for him to gain altitude.
Which, made him kiss the grouind.

I know, I've aimed for it since you guys started talking about how glorius it is.
Had to grind 4 or 5 planes in order to get where I am now. Only took about 1½ days casual playing in total.
It's funny enough when idiots line up behind my 12.7mm turret(s)
But, idiots lining up behind a 20mm turret? Oh man.

Because we're all geniuses.
Why the fuck do squads get so raped by matchmaking? Can't we just play in regular matches instead of a "squad only" match?
Can't we just play in regular matches instead of a "squad only" match?
...Yes? We do all the time.
...Yes? We do all the time.
My last matches have been waiting five to ten minutes for a match, the match I get is usually at least one equal squad on the oposite team, often without more than that squad.
Playing in a three man squad gets me one enemy three man squad and one two man squad, and perhaps one two man squad on my team + two-three other players.
Playing in a three man squad gets me one enemy three man squad and one two man squad, and perhaps one two man squad on my team + two-three other players.
The game's MM tries to match up squads, but doesn't negatively affect them in any other way.
As someone who rolls solo a lot, I'm totally fine with it because nothing is more frustrating than having maybe one two man squad and the enemy team has 2-3 3-4-man squads. Especially in RB where communication is king. The other option is to not even think about it in terms of MM, and then in small matches you'd wind up with 4 man squad + 1 vs. 5 pubbies. Which still happens now and then. :v:
I love wrecking stugs with my T-70, I can just imagine the confused looks on their faces after they bounce 3 heat shells off my sloped armor and I pop them with a single AP/APCR round to the gunner view port.

I almost always fly in a 2-man squad, and what tends to happen to us is we face one tier higher than we're flying. So if we both have entirely tier I lineups, we fight in a tier II game, and so forth right up until jets start showing up. It's a bit annoying, especially because my most frequent squadmate (my dad :v:) wants to fly Luftwaffe but only has one tier III, and a stock 109-F4 isn't much competition for Bearcats.

God damn that blue
I was wondering why theres no dev blog today, then I remembered its the weekend.
So I finally unlocked the TU-2S-59.
Only thing I like about it is the 20mm gunner. Everything else about it seems rather bland.
And I miss the airbrakes :v:

A fucking german reserve blew up my ammo load everytime with a 1shot and i was using the jadgpanzer
I'm done with this bullshit

Once you settle into a routine, it can get bland, but it's just a solid plane. It out maneuvers pretty much every heavy fighter (get fukt 410s) and teaches you to be accurate with it's 9 x 100kg payload. Sure, some bombers have that delicious 8 x 250kg thing going on, but the Tu-2 can shit death both in front and behind.
You shouldn't need airbrakes in it either. Learn to cut the engine if you want to do a few fast dives, but I usually have my best luck flying it extremely low and letting fighter babies play in low orbit.
Tu-2S-44 has airbrakes but what kind of person wants to go slow when they can go fast???
