The RNG is fucking absurd in this game. Shoot someone in the front in a non-vital area? Ammo racked. Shoot someone in the back of a turret with a penetrating HEAT rounds? "Lol minor crew damage, they're ok tho." It makes it extremely not fun when one match it's treating me like a one-shot machine, and the next match, I'm lucking if I even break something with penetrating rounds.
If I carefully line up a perfect shot in the scope view it does nothing. If I just charge at somebody and click at random it obliterates them in a single shot. Tanks are weird.
I'm still getting my entire crew killed in one shot by the German autocannons yet they're airsoft guns when I try to use them.
Which of the Spitfire Mk. 9s is the trashy one? I have the F and am currently researching the LF. I remember there was a lengthy discussion a while ago about them and how one of them is irredeemable garbage, but I can't remember which one it is and the F has been treating me reasonably well. I'm currently working my way down the Spitfire line for dem Griffons.

The F is perfectly servicable but a lot of people will have owned the IX when it got split into two, and thus have stuck with the LF for having had it already upgraded, with the F being redundant.

Those things were going right through like butter doing dick all
A shit team losing with 1% of the enemy tickets left is the single most annoying thing in this game

It just went through the side and just slid right through doing nothing. I then died the death of a thousand needles.
So one round, non-doubled, in the T-50 later and I went from stock to owning everything except tracks, artillery, transmission, and engine. A little over 3000RP in a single Arcade match in a single life playing a stock god damn tank. Yep. YEP. THIS IS A BALANCED TANK, TOVARISCH. IGNORE T-80. getting to shoot at the sides of tanks seems to end up with me going on streaks of 1 shots, guess I just keep getting lucky when shooting the side of the turret.
Why is matchmaking in this game so arbitrarily long?
Warthunder has a system in place where enemy tanks that you cant physically see from your turret view turn invisible. This becomes extremely apparent with grass turned off because even though you should be able to see someone cresting over a hill they stay invisible until they come over the grass which isn't there. I've had many matches where I will be getting shot from over the crest of a hill, unable to see anything and then when they move a few inches above the grass line they literally just pop into existence. This happens with boulders and rocks too especially on karelein, I'd be sitting at A right behind a cliff face and then randomly an enemy tank would just pop into existence right in front of me because I couldn't see him coming around the corner. Hell when you use artillery you can see players popping into existence all over the map, it gets really fucking annoying.

In fact, shouldn't grass not be something you can turn off?

A lot of the time tanks just suddenly exist in front of you, throwing off any aim you had, being extremely disorientating, and near impossible to predict.
Oh I've been playing Realistic, does that change anything? I haven't noticed that yet, I've been quite happy with the spotting system, although IMO trees should be taken into account, but other than that I've yet to see invisible things. I've noticed tanks aren't [I]marked[/I] sometimes while in hull down, which I thought was intentional but again, I've only played 9 or 10 games so far.

This system can be good but half the time it will show the players name and nothing else and on arcade the little bullet drop reticle will not even turn red/yellow/green until they become visible. You can spend a couple seconds trying to line up a shot, getting nothing on the indicator and then it's too late cause they've already put a round through your ammo rack. I'm not talking about when just their turret is exposed over cover, they will literally be sitting in the open on top of a hill and wont pop in until the driver hatch is over the grass or they take a shot. They should have just made it so you can see everyone in your field of view but hide names behind objects, instead of hiding players behind objects that you can clearly see around/through.

Specifically, I got it while in hull down, so I think there needs to be some optimization there, but I also saw a ZiS-30 just randomly disappear in front of me so yeah it looks like it's just wonky all around. I then died the death of a thousand needles.[/QUOTE] If you're talking about the SU-122, shoot pure HE with it. It's strong enough to one shot 95% of tanks. It has a much higher velocity too, making it easier to aim than HEAT.

Also I can confirm that the Tiger is fun in RB.

Well World of Tanks was much the same way, Only a few lines to go down, that was it. Now there's a lot more lines, a lot that branch off and go into other lines There's just not a large number of options yet. The planned tanks number pretty much double what's in-game so far, and that's not counting American/Brits/Japanese tanks They made it so you don't get the 130% research bonus from the previous tank, at least. So you can research them all driving the tank you like, without having to use any of them

I didn't have to research every single tank along the way. It really should be reduced to 4. There just aren't enough options right now to justify 6 tanks.
I seriously wonder how they're going to balance out heavy bombers in combined battles because I don't really see any of the SPAAs currently in the game being effective against them, particularly when they're flying at an high altitude or in formations and I can just see people squading up in Yer-2s, B-17s, and Lancasters and then carpeting bombing the Axis spawn points and strategic sites, possibly crippling or wiping out an team in seconds, which if you ask me, won't be any fun for anybody not flying a heavy bomber. I seriously think heavy bombers shouldn't be allowed in combined battles because in real-life they were rarely ever used to support major ground operations and they'll ruin the fun for players playing tanks by carpeting bombing everything.
