BF 109 G6. It has like the second highest climb rate (Including jets) in the German tree (On paper) So you can get to bomber heights easily.
Oh, and you can put 3x 30mm cannons on it.

It's a lick too fragile for that in RB. A single smart B-17 (lol what) pilot could knock out your engine or worse as I've learned over and over in the G-10 and K-4 when I have to play mop-up. The Me-410 can destroy them at much safer distances with the twin Mk 103s, and they often get an air start.

Everything's fragile in RB. 3 30mm make up for it I think, especially with its climb rate

Except you trade in a sizable chunk of that climb rate (as well as maneuverability) when you take the extra guns.

I dunno about the "fucking wreck assholes" part. Catalinas are flying whales: slow, HUGE and with a critical blind spot behind the tail.
Only good things I find in the Catalinas are their payload and their resistance to anything that is not a 12.7 gun targeting the engines
You can usually keep the enemy out of the blindspot by just tapping Q/E, and with BR 2.0 or 1.7, one of your tail gunners alone outgun a lot of the fighters.

Besides, always take control of your gunner if the enemy starts hanging on your tail, you'll quickly get good at taking out people's engines or pilots.
That feeling when you're flying your best plane and you get killed via pilot-knockout before you can do any real damage is not a feeling I enjoy feeling.

Extremely poor velocity and unreliable damage.
You have to hug a person close enough to smell the pilot's favorite shampoo, and even then I catch them on fire more often than I do kill anything. :v:
