Lol, just got out of a game where half the team were complaining that Germans need a buff because their stock Pz IVs weren't one-shotting T34s. I'm like Wehraboo #1 in this thread and I think Germans are OP as hell right now. What are these people on about?
It may have something to do with the t-34's one shotting pz4's front on while the pz's cant even pen the t-34's even with APCR

I seriously think it's entirely era based
era 1-2, russians are fucking absurd, the t28 is an abomination

Then you also have the T-50 which is almost indestructible to anything but HEAT rounds and extremely large volumes of fire while being able to penetrate and kill almost anything it faces with relative ease except maybe a Sherman. It's literally the Chaika of the Soviet tank tree.
There is a reason why most of the Russian tank players are staying at ranks I-II because at Rank III and onward, the Germans start getting their big cats like the Panther and Tiger.
Panzer 4 ausf. F2 is such fun in SB. It oneshots everything, most of the time.
the amount of retards playing is not even funny
Playing as a PzIII F is pure suffering because of all those T-50s and T34 prototypes.
Playing the III L is the best feeling ever
goes at ridiculous speed, pens and kills everything
german steel

Yeah, no kidding. It was one of my favourite tanks during CBT.
wtf is the pz IV F2 made of I get ammoracked by one shot every game

Flak cannons r fun :-)
I just love to be put against tier 3 tanks when i only have tier 2.

How the hell do you even hit anything.
How the hell do you even hit anything.
Some people just "got it".
I've seen my buddy play and his head is a radar fire control computer, being able to calculate just the right deflection. 50% of the time, the deflection required is soo high you don't see the dude on the screen. A single shot from the 37mm and a fiery wreck just appears a few seconds later as it comes into view.
It really is quite something.

They're great at roleplaying Syrians in the Valley of Tears reenactments I direct every single fucking battle.

use it like a T50 minus the armor, it's speed can be quite nice and your gun does a lot of damage on sideshots.

Too bad the turret rotation is 5 degrees/sec. It makes it suffering in any kind of more dynamic shooting.

Maybe I'll just keep using my StuG to grind it.
Okay no this is just fucking stupid. I know the game is "realistic" and all and such things are supposed to be fun, but I don't believe tier 1 matchmaking is even what anyone could call playable. The game needs work or they need to find a way to not jack off to T-34s. I don't know what they're going to do to make this actually okay and playable, because all it takes is the enemy to realize they can play the T-34 and T-50 and just win by default. Spalling needs to be a thing maybe???? HEAT needs to maybe not do literally 22LR damage? Maybe reign in on the wild damage RNG? I shoot a T-34 in the cheek with HEAT and it explodes once, then I shoot another T-34 in the cheek literally 13 times and it does nothing.
I like what they have set up, and I enjoyed myself when the enemy team didn't consist, no joke, of entirely T-50s and T-34s, but there is some fundamental work that needs to be done before it can...be good I guess. I don't think it will catch a community if the answer to T-34s not being penetratable by all tier 1 German tanks is "too bad".
It's funny because I remember it being not nearly as bad in CBT.
They fucked up, big time.
Haven't seen this asked yet so: how's the 122mm IS?
uh, i'm lonely, does anyone want to tank with me, my IGN is Kernami, please?
Haven't seen this asked yet so: how's the 122mm IS?
It oneshots everything it penetrates. If it can't penetrate, I just use HE. Direct HE hit to the face has like 95% probability to knock down enemy's gun.
You guys realize you don't have to play StuG III A , Pz III E and PzIV C and F1, right? It's not that T-50 or T-34 are all that OP, the thing is the German 75mm is a shitflinging poocannon and was historically deemed unfit of tank vs tank combat, period. PzII, Pz.38(t) (the first one) and PzIII F and up are perfectly viable vehicles and you can just skip the shitty 75mm things until you can get the long 75mms on Stug and Pz IV or the 50mm PzIIIs.
The issue is that there isn't really a good match against all the crap with the German 75mm because they will either oneshot everything they face or they won't do anything whatsoever, but that would be fine if people chose the actually reasonable gun and didn't go "OHHHHHHHHH 75M GUN THIS GUNNA BE GUD".
The 75mm gun is a joke. It was a joke in WoT as well. Just don't use it. It's a comedy cannon. And yes, it was a bad decision to put it on 3 era 1 German tanks, 4th having the shitty 37mm, but that's Gaijin trying to inflate TONKO NUMBERS by putting in things that shouldn't really ever fight tanks.
Haven't seen this asked yet so: how's the 122mm IS?
Fucking incredible, but the rounds drop like a fat baby.
okay, Awesomecaek, I think people in the WT thread on FP of all places understand low velocity guns.
The reason I use it is because I like being able to have more than 3 kills worth of ammo. It's nice to be able to just fling shit at free will. It's not a joke against anything that isn't a T-34. For now I've reverted to using the PzII however because there are more T-34s online than yesterday.

I bought a gold pack the night before ground forces went live and used it to convert all the research points I had to go all the way to Rank III in the German GFs tech tree and Rank II for the Soviet GFs tree, so I wouldn't have to deal with all the shit tanks. But the problem is that there is hardly anybody playing Rank III right now besides the few speed grinders like me and the people who have bought the premium T-34-57 Model 1943 and Jagdpanther so I often find myself going back to the shitty tanks to play them.
Also have you even tried using HEAT rounds for the stubby 75mms? You can practically one-shot everything at close range.
Also am I the only one who is struggling to enjoy playing the Tiger and KV-1s? Because it seems that the Tiger I always get one-shotted by the first T-34-85 while the KV-1 constantly gets hammered by artillery strikes.

Unless it's changed since the nightly server when I used to use the early PzIVs all the time, HEAT rounds with those guns are devastatingly powerful. They're pretty trash before HEAT yeah, but once you get that you can one shot anything smaller than a T-28. If you miss, it doesn't matter because the reload speed is so fast.
The only place where it really suffers is on Kursk where the low velocity makes hitting anything at long range a waste of time, but at close range I was more scared of PzIV Ausf Cs and Stug Ausf As than I was any other tank when I was driving the BT-7.

The Tiger is not that good and neither are the KVs. I'll take a T-34 any day of the week over a KV. I honestly don't think the Russian heavies become worth using until the IS-2. Up until that point they're just not worth the tradeoffs in speed and spawn count.
War Thunder goes a long way in showing why heavy tanks became obsolete. They're very large and slow targets in an environment where a significantly more nimble medium tank can carry an armament capable of penetrating most targets on the field. Speed is life and gives you so many more tactical options than a big armored brick.
The Tiger is weird too because I'm pretty sure the mantlet isn't working right. I have no problems whatsoever shooting straight through the mantlet in my T-34-85 and that doesn't seem right. In fact, shooting the mantlet is my preferred solution to dealing with a Tiger when I'm facing it head on.
The Panther is better in literally every single way except side armor. I'm really glad people blindly bumrush to the Tiger because I would much, much rather fight a team of Tigers than a team of Panthers.
Can other people see your userskins?
I'm pretty disappointed in the damage model in ground forces but it was to be expected I guess from the way aviation damage models were.
Is there something I'm missing here or is there just not any sort of crew status indicator for tanks?

Jokes on you, I play with my PzIII F, and the only tank I can reliably pen are T-28 and other lower tanks.
PzIII F isnt really anyway close to be able to fight T-50s and T-34s. Not only does it have less armor, it's not even sloped. The gun can't penetrate frontally any of them reliably, and is too sluggish to engage in any sort of more dynamic combat.
Also, the short 75 was awesome on the PzIII in WoT, racking up 10 kills felt so good. 75 HEAT shells in WT are awesome.
