I cant get my last 4 victories because I keep getting teams that are too busy having a circle jerk on the opposite side of the map from where the objective is...
That's exactly how the Comet behaves, and honestly any plane you touch the ground with wings in. They promised one of the following updates will try to work on collisions and physics of it.
Weird thing is that it doesn't explode if the wings hit the ground while moving. [editline]13th August 2014[/editline]
Have you ever considered that the japanese designers were retards that would fuck up everything the germans showed them, from a simple fighter to wunderwaffes? The thing flew once. It has a landing success rate of 0. Pilot survival rate of 0.
Ki-61's a good example of not shit Japanese design. Also, the Zeroes.
Ki-61's a good example of not shit Japanese design. So, guys. What is the status on this whole squad thing? Were we making a new squad or did Psisoldier manage to get a hang of Crumpets and get him online to change the name?
how many tries did it take you?
2 Hunter missions each
It's pretty normal for early war planes to be outclassed by the end of the war.
right but unlike countries with smart military leadership, they kept giving the outdated shit new marks instead of retooling production for actual decent, modern aircraft
right but unlike countries with smart military leadership, they kept giving the outdated shit new marks instead of retooling production for actual decent, modern aircraft
Pretty much all countries did that to some degree in some branches, mainly in tanks where it's kinda understandable because the steelworks required for the tank production were pretty complicated and required a lot of heavy duty equipment compared to aircraft building. For instance Americans could have shat T-2X series tanks quite early on but stuck to Sherman till very late when they finally bothered with some Pershings, Russians could have had the T-43 or T-44 on the frontline, but Stalin was like "nah, T-34-85 is going to fit the current production lines well, just give me a LOT of these". Germans tried to upgrade the quite outdated 109 airframe through the entire war and 190 wasn't all that much better in that.

Whereas the zero basically never had its primary problem (a shitty, underpowered engine) addressed and the M3, M5, etc just changed stuff like firepower and wing design that didnt do nearly enough to keep it in the running
Pretty much all countries did that to some degree in some branches, mainly in tanks where it's kinda understandable because the steelworks required for the tank production were pretty complicated and required a lot of heavy duty equipment compared to aircraft building.
It's not just tanks and aircraft, it's basically anything. There's a huge, huge cost to shift production/logistics over for anything. If it works, keep using it (M2 Browning 1933 based on an upscaled 1917 design). If it has flaws, keep upgrading it (M16 1962.) And if the foundation can simply no longer handle the upgrades to keep up with technology, bite the bullet and make the expensive industrial switch (M4 Sherman to Patton, all the different Jeeps makes before we hit the HUMVEE, etc.) It's no surprise that large frame, solidly designed aircraft capable of having their engine and armament swapped out, and frame redesigned, received a bajillion different iterations before finally being replaced by something else. (Yak-1/3/7/9, Bf 109, Fw 190, P-38, A6M, Spitfire, etc, etc.)
Whereas the zero basically never had its primary problem (a shitty, underpowered engine) addressed and the M3, M5, etc just changed stuff like firepower and wing design that didnt do nearly enough to keep it in the running
They planned to change the engine up by the M8, but I'm no good with Japanese military history. Wasn't their industry a bit notorious for struggling on powerful aircraft engines, and also having a lot of development conflicts between the IJN and IJA?
Wednesday Aug 13 07:58 PM - Sam: probably need a new clan 07:58 PM - Sam: crumpets is ignoring anything i ask about wt now 07:58 PM - Sam: sooo 07:59 PM - Teal: crumpets the pile of trumpets 07:59 PM - Sam: crumpet the strumpet 08:02 PM - Teal: hmm 08:02 PM - Teal: I have the glod 08:02 PM - Teal: I could theoretically do it 08:02 PM - Sam: we need more than a theoretical clan :v
So, yeah, I am willing to use the glod and start this shit, would I get support (and mainly would you guys join me?)
There were competing designs to replace the Zero since 1943. The A7M Reppu is the peak of that.
So, yeah, I am willing to use the glod and start this shit, would I get support (and mainly would you guys join me?)
I've still got the Eagles I bought a couple of days ago actually for this purpose, unless you already have them too.
So, yeah, I am willing to use the glod and start this shit, would I get support (and mainly would you guys join me?)
idgaf I was in it for the name. I'll join another for the name if it's good enough. Tired of being [ep79] Doom14 when there's fucking =FAP=StalinBunnyXxX69 in the same match. :v:
I've still got the Eagles I bought a couple of days ago actually for this purpose, unless you already have them too.
I have like 6000 odd left and am planning to invest in foreseeable future I mean, we definitely shouldn't like, argue who makes it here, I don't want bad blood and if anybody else *really* wants to start it then it's fine by me, it's just I have been in this thread for quite a while and I can honestly say I am planning to stick to the game for quite some time. I can say outright that I will throw an officer to everyone who's vaguely trustworthy and asks for it so don't worry about management there.

Question is, which name should we finally go with FAPPE won narrowly won the poll over IFLAP and I am not sure which to go with. I personally prefer IFLAP as it's still a little bit recognizable after IFAP and still imho pretty funny, FAPPE isn't bad either tho.
Question is, which name should we finally go with
I've said it before, and I'll repeat. I think everyone prefers FAPPE, but probably understand it has a much higher chance of having this issue repeat. If someone has an issue with IFLAP, well, fuck everything.
Well IFLAP is definitely less likely to get changed again, and it's closest to the old name. I do prefer FAPPE for comedic value though [editline]13th August 2014[/editline] Just go with IFLAP
IFLAP is better and safer, it's not like your average war thunder player has the brain cells to recognize the clan tag.
right but unlike countries with smart military leadership, they kept giving the outdated shit new marks instead of retooling production for actual decent, modern aircraft
The Bf109 was Germany's main fighter, and it was introduced in 1937. It was upgraded over the duration of the war and it worked fine. Same with the Spitfire. Everyone did it. The only reason Japan couldn't keep up at the end of the war was because they got fucked over by bombardments. Also, apparently their A7M program was ruined by an earthquake and bombardments of the factory.

The Bf-109 and to a much greater extent the Spitfire were expensive top-of-the-line machines given the most powerful engines and fanciest gadgetry available.

Yeah, I voted for FAPPE but IFLAP is just silly enough to fulfill the same role that IFAP did.
sam i am not a trumpet
