Barely, The IL-28 has more in common with the Tu-2 than the IL-2/10
Well this does mean that every branch in the Russian tree will end in a Era V jet if they give the IL-28 on top of the IL-10 and the Tu-14 on top of the Tu-2s, but that's about the only sensible reason I can think of.
This is like putting the skyraider on top of the American heavy bombers because it can carry the same load, they are mechanically incomparable.
goon's just mad because he didn't grind out the IL-10 1946. Come to me sweet 28

I would if flying fighters above Era II didn't frustrate me to no end.

I have them all, the last of them is aced. I am tentative about Talismaning it tho because the energy retention is whack as fuck and it'll probably get fixed. N1K2-Ja is prime candidate.

So, now that I'm back in the Japan tree I'm flying the A6M3 to unlock the first Ki-84. Is there a specific ammo type I should use for this Zero or should I just stick with Omni-Purpose?

Depends which mode and what targets. I always like a tiny bit of AP-I against heavy bombers, as HEF-T doesn't quite seem to have the same punch on things like a B-17 - so Omni is good for that.
You'll probably want the straight up tracer belt though. Raw HEF-T is excellent. The most important thing is ammo conservation, which is best achieved with a low convergence distance and good maneuvering.

Tracer is pretty good generally, but lately I've been having a great time with the ground targets belt for the mk-2 cannons. Rips up bombers pretty nicely and can still tear fighters a new one

You'd be surprised at how many people try to turn fight a Zero, even in the high ranks.

Except for one game populated by completely retarded Japanese bomber players, I've won every single Japanese game tonight. Is the myth about Japanese players being abnormally good true?
Also I switch to tracer for the cannons and have been wrecking anything I can hit. Thanks for the suggestion.
Okay, I finally got the first 262, how do I utilize its meager talents?
You'd be surprised at how many people try to turn fight a Zero, even in the high ranks.
Dude I have played the shit out of high tier Japan. Yes I know people turnfight Zeroes, they also turnfight N1K2s which also out-turn them, and that plane as the advantage of also getting to the front lines before your team mates kill everyone.
Okay, I finally got the first 262, how do I utilize its meager talents?
Basically all you can do is either head on fighters or attempt to have them lose enough speed diving you to dogfight them since you -should- be able to out turn anything fighting you at low altitude.
Just dont even try to climb because you will die horribly

Well we know they gonna put Tu-14 in eventually, where would they put it if IL-28 was after Tu-2? Under the IL-10? Or put IL-28 out of the way and put it behind the new plane where the IL-28 was?
If there wasn't going to be a Tu-14, Il-28 after Tu-2 would make sense, but with Tu-14 eventually coming, it really doesn't.

I know the N1K2 is better than the Zero in every way, I'm just saying that the Ko Reisen is a decent high tier grinder in order to reach those, better, planes.
How do I join the FP clan? Been playing a little WT lately and am liking both the air and ground combat.

In the clicky menu on the top, look for "Squadrons" and search for "ed76" (we are about to get renamed to IFAP so try that if ed76 won't be there anymore). Apply for membership and somebody will accept you in. Not sure if the squadron isn't full atm tho so say so if it refuses you with that.

Ill bet it's because most of your kills were one-shots
vehicles that instakill targets (SU-122, 152, anything with a D-25T) are really shitty at generating RP because you dont get any of the "Hit" RP that, say, the T-34-57 does when it fires 3 shots into a target before killing it

Yeah I have noticed that and imho the need to do something about that.
Similarly oneshotting B-17s with rockets nets piss any reward but it's clearly more skillful way of doing it. They need to figure out how to balance gains for overkilling things.

I found a new strategy, get lucky and be thrown into a combined arms battle. My 262 got an airstart against Tier 5 tanks, but Tier 3 aircraft.
We lost on the ground but it was fucking glorious for me.
Apparently this happened because I mistakenly clicked on tank battles, meaning this might be an actually feasible strategy.
the new description will be
"The only airforce on the planet to pilot in gasmasks"
courtesy of caek, if you have any objections please voice them
though its only the fucking description
the tag will be changed back to [IFAP] as orson agreed 'its only a bit of fun'
eta unknown possibly tomorrow but i dunno knowing gaijin employees
