The only thing I miss about french tank simulator is my KV-5

YES
GLORIOUS
It's like they saw people having fun with the German flak truck in CBT and shut it right the fuck down. It's a tinderbox now. First eight deaths, seven of them were fires - two of them being "burnt down" before I even saw any fire notifications.
Not that an armorless truck should be a bunker, by any means, but the my GAZ regularly shrugs off being turned into swiss cheese, and I'm not even sure has had a fire yet.
Tanks battle are so painful. Why is no one capping? Why is no one fighting over points?
Infuriating.

The Sd. Kfz 140/1 is actually quite fun, even with the low tier Russian rape thats going on right now.
The frontal hull armor is 50mm, and I have used it to troll T-28s to great effect whilst wrecking them with 20mm shells.

Cap circles are basically areas you go to if you want to die from artillery spam
100 vitality on my gunner and he still gets "knocked unconscious" every time a shell so much as whizzes past my tank.
So, I do have to compare and bitch about the game as to compare it to WoT. Because of reasons.
I dislike how it's impossible to have the FoF indicators in some form, always available. I got a teamkill because one of our tanks follow an enemy column, so I shot him because there is nothing showing his allegiance, except a small, easily missed blue dot.
Speaking of which, while I realize that there are enemy/friendly outlines showing when the enemy tank is selected, but it is so difficult to see, it's hardly worth anything. For fuck sakes, this was the last thing I would expect to miss from Wow.
Next, the minimap is awfully hard to read. Every one is a line, so good luck noticing that one pixel flanking all of you.
Having to buy vehicles to advance. But everyone bitched about that here, so hopefully they'll remove that.
+/- Era matchmaking. Having T-46's go against KV-1's is hilarious but pointless. WoT problem hey could have largely avoided.
It looks worse (on Ultralow) than WoT on Ultralow, while having half the FPS.
I mean, this is some obvious stuff. The game is enjoyable to a great point and serb can shake in his boots, but it suffers from many a thing that happen in WoT (bad teammates, annoying matchmaking, balance).
I'll grind some more, later.
You're a WoT player so it's clear that you hate yourself but for anyone else with name visibility and friend-foe ID issues, fear not because Simulator mode gets rid of them. If you don't hate yourself, play Sim.

T-50.
Rape everything.
Getting shot by an invisible tank is so fucking infuriating I can't even begin to describe it. Wrose is when you respawn and he's already made it into your base and one-shots you the send your invincibility counter runs out. It's like he KNEW when that happened. At least I can just leave the game and jump into another tank or somethi- oh, aces.exe isn't responding. Alright, open task manager, rightcli- mouse is captured by aces.exe, can't mouse over any windows. No matter, just alt tab into Start, close deskt- entire computer stops responding. Thanks Gaijin, I really needed this.

I think you collided after you both died and because planes touching is gay, the touch of your wrecks made you unfit of receiving a kill.
It says that he crashed the moment he slams into the building, but I'm gonna look into it because it's kind of likely.
[editline]nope[/editline]
Nope, no collision. Unless the I-185 has a collision box that is twice as big as its visual model.

Anyone know where the fuck to shoot the German tank thats really short with the fat cannon? Damn thing seems to shrug off everything I shoot at it no matter how good it is at penetrating.

Sides or back of the turret, in the front viewports, in the side just below the turret, or in the engine/fuel compartment

I always try to kill the gunner first. From your perspective it's the right side of the turret, from the enemy's perspective the left. If you're talking about the Pz.IV C then it's even easier as the turret is made of paper. Gives a massive advantage as he has to wait for the dude to revive before he can shoot back, especially if you have a fast firing gun like the 50mm for example.

The collisions are laggy as fuck and often happen when the planes don't seem to touch. I am mainly presuming there was one based on the way your plane rocked after he flew by.
Also, remember, the damage taken doesn't cause kills anymore, so you collided, the "kill holder" was attributed to [COLLISION], and the moment you and he touched ground you were finally written off and the kill was attributed to the collision.
I think he means the Stug, since he mentions it being very short.
Your best choice is to flank it.
[editline]19th May 2014[/editline]
Or try aiming at the lower glacis plate.
If there's one thing I learned from WoT, it's: the lower glacis plate is always a weakspot (with a few exceptions)
Penetrating the lower glacis in War Thunder doesn't matter as much as it does in World of Tanks due to the angles involved. There are certain situations where you can get a kill shot from it, but that's not the norm. Unless you're coming at it from below there's not much to hit. On German tanks you might be lucky because the transmission is there, and you might damage it, but you're not going to kill the tank by shooting the transmission unless you get lucky and it catches on fire or something.
Shooting into the crew compartments and killing the crew is the number one way to kill a tank until you start getting guns big enough to reliably ammo rack tanks. Shooting the crew also has the advantage of temporarily disabling the tank when you kill them, which can buy you valuable time to follow up with a kill shot or reposition for a better shot.
I've said it before and I'll say it again. The biggest difference between World of Tanks and War Thunder is that penetrating is not the be all, end all. In World of Tanks, penetrating a tank applies damage. In War Thunder, shooting the critical components inside the tank applies damage.
Anyone know where the fuck to shoot the German tank thats really short with the fat cannon? Damn thing seems to shrug off everything I shoot at it no matter how good it is at penetrating.
Sounds like youre describing a Stug.
If you're a crackshot, hit the crew viewports, otherwise get to the sides/back.
I fuckin hate Stugs.

Oh everyone else already replied it's been a long time.

If a Stug is keeping its front to you, and you have time to take a shot at it, I've found a lot of success by shooting at these bits:

If anyone wants to form a squad and run around blowing germans up add darkrei9nFP
If you're shooting frag rounds, that little slope to the left of the gun is weirdly vulnerable as well, I've found

Can we just compile something like this for every tank in the game? :v
Would be so handy.
How difficult are tanks in sim compared to realistic?
Can we just compile something like this for every tank in the game? :v

Most tank get brutalized if you hit under the turret (via hull) or the back of the turret. Try to rationalize where the bulk of crew are and hit there. Most components, sans engine, usually get damaged in that area tool.
A lot of weak spots are universal. Driver's hatches, view slits, flat bits of thin armor. Shot traps (armor that deflects rounds into paper thin top armor) work as well; such as extremely rounded turrets. I've found some machine gun ports work pretty well, too.
The only tanks that give me issue are T-34s. Mainly becuase you can throw APHE in the back of the turret and only do light damage to the crew.
How difficult are tanks in sim compared to realistic?
You just have to be a little more observant, that's the main bit.
