zeroes sucked donkey nuts at high altitude historically so yeah
But is this a recent change? I used to outclimb bf109s in my zeroes.
Dude, the immature players out there are astounding. It actually stopped me from playing for a month or so out of frustration. I had experienced a couple rounds, the first where I accidentally fired off a round towards an ally. Didn't hit him, didn't even come close. So his "clan-buddy" lines up behind me and lays into me with 20mm, destroying me. Telling me "Don't shoot at my ally, noob" I went off on the cheeky motherfucker and exacted my revenge with a ram via biplane- Next round over, completely different group. I was chasing down airplanes and after a kill i turned my attention towards a somewhat distant B25 that was evading fire from two other aircraft. I started towards him, knowing I probably wouldn't make it. So some ass-hat rolls up behind me and blows my wing off, talking shit about how 'he hates people like me, kill stealers'. I mean FFS, we were in T2 aircraft (at least I was) and the bomber was already on fire at about 1.5km away. There was no WAY either of us were going to make it regardless. How in the FUCK did i steal his kill? I just aimed towards the biggest target in the sky and started towards it. I never even fired off a shot. So I put the game down after that, pretty pissed. People get WAY to upset over this fabled "Kill Stealing". No one legitimately looks at another aircraft someone is shooting at and thinks "I'm going to steal that." It's more of a "Ooh, there's an enemy there and I want points." We're a team for fucks sake. Get over it and move onto the next target. [sp]Instead of ruining the fun of someone else.[/sp]
People wouldnt get as pissed if they got actual credit for doing damage, instead of a couple of xp pennies for fucking up every control surface and engine while the next guy to come along to help clips the enemies pilot and gets all the points.
People wouldnt get as pissed if they got actual credit for doing damage, instead of a couple of xp pennies for fucking up every control surface and engine while the next guy to come along to help clips the enemies pilot and gets all the points.
They really need to use the "percentage fucked up by you" system as opposed to the "last person to touch the plane gets one million gaijinbux and a new car".
They really need to use the "percentage fucked up by you" system as opposed to the "last person to touch the plane gets one million gaijinbux and a new car".
If wargaymen figured one thing out its that damage done should always mean more than kills at the end of the day
They really need to use the "percentage fucked up by you" system as opposed to the "last person to touch the plane gets one million gaijinbux and a new car".
Yeah. Each plane could have a pool of xp and credits, and you get a percentage of that. Did 33% of the damage/crits to the plane? 33% xp and credits from the kill.
People wouldnt get as pissed if they got actual credit for doing damage, instead of a couple of xp pennies for fucking up every control surface and engine while the next guy to come along to help clips the enemies pilot and gets all the points.
So don't attack your teammates and hamper the team during the game, instead get on the forums and let Gaijin have it. Most companies don't seem to check the community as closely as they should, but I've posted legitimate debates about aircraft effectiveness (namely the BF-110) and actually saw them change the aircraft after the next big update that came through. There were a few of us complaining about it, but I imagine there are even more upset over the point tiering. Besides, you DO get points for fucking everything up. You just don't get the big message and bonus for the final hit. (which, i agree; you should). So even though you're only earning like 75-200xp per hit, they add up over time. 75(normal) x 8 = 600 / 200(critical) x 2 = 400 == ~1,000 xp (admittedly, I came up with those numbers on my own as I don't know the exact ones- but it's example enough..)
You'd be surprised. Apparently there's an entire fucking squadron, "LuLu" or somesuch, that dedicates themselves to stealing kills. People on the official forums acknowledged them whilst simultaneously denying that killstealing was even a concept. Apparently their general attitude is "If you couldn't get the kill then you didn't deserve it," which infuriates me because if I cripple someone's control surfaces and set them up on a blind date with the ground, but run out of ammo, I did a hell of a lot more than the guy who gets the credit (and the bonus) by putting three 7.7s on target. The concept of not getting credit for my kills doesn't inherently bother me, it's everybody's attitude towards it that really sets me off.
But is this a recent change? I used to outclimb bf109s in my zeroes.
Zeroes were designed to be decently quickly interceptors with a full fuel tank. A massive amount of the weight of a Zero alone is its fuel, if you take away most of that for the 45 min setting you get a pretty sweet power:weight
You know, they could remove the idea of assist rewards and give full rp and sl as if they killed it. Assists are only kept for record keeping purposes and achievements. Killstealing is vital because one kill is the amount you need to actually get normal progression rewards. In a squad of 4 we partition our kills out so that everyone gets at least one kill before the game ends. If that doesn't work we have to start ground pounding light vehicles and AAA to get SOMETHING, no matter how pathetic the rewards are.
So, is the gun damage still wonky, or did the smooth it out? The War Thunder/Hug-Box forum is just in incoherent babbling-bitching mode so I can't tell what's really broken after the hotfix. Because when I was at college, I tested out non-hotfix 1.41.30 briefly and found that my German 13mms were doing more damage than quad MG151s. :v: I can't really bring myself to play War Thunder anymore until 1.43 hits. I tried a time or two and just couldn't enjoy it. That could be changed if they fixed a lot of stuff, but my current joy only really comes out of unlocking/acing new planes now. Instead, I've just been playing Heroes and Generals. Nothing says fun like rushing up to blind tankers and sticking bombs on their tank, before booty-scooting away in whatever vehicle I was in. Yeah, I lost interest in WT ever since I aced my CL-13 and got every german plane. Been playing Heroes and Generals too. It's a shame H&G only has the Bf 109 E-4 and the P-38, and the fact that the game has terrible hit registration.
the fact that the game has terrible hit registration.
We don't have a thread for it (and I don't think it really needs one that bad) which is the only reason I'm continuing this, but yes. It's hit-reg is probably the most frustrating and unreliable thing. I can go from Rambo, Death Incarnate one match to "turn people into blood fountains as they leisurely do a 180 and headshot me" the very next.
Yes, cannons are still borked, 4 20mm hispanos with stealth belts hits like a cloud of cotton candy.
Tell that to the 3 b-17s i killed last round in my Tempest mk V [editline]5th September 2014[/editline] Also not using stealth, using omnipurpose. Stealth is hard in RB. [editline]5th September 2014[/editline] I tried H&G back in january of 2013, it was p. awful and weird browser based stuff and idk what the fuck. I did enjoy watching Robbaz's p2w video of it though. but most of his videos are pretty funny. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aCVj4CUjDug

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aCVj4CUjDug
I played about a year or so ago as well, back when it first launched. It was extremely bad back then. It has it's own launcher/programs now - it's no longer browser based. The UI is far better, but the economy is completely fucked. I'll put it to you this way. I can buy a Panzer II C, Panzer 38t, stock them both with top of the line ammo, infantry crates, etc. It still wouldn't be as expensive as the MG42. And the MP40 is even more expensive. Also custom ammo that you buy for lots of silver? It's not permanent. I learned that after I blew through 13k worth of silver on a MG34 in two matches. :v: Oh, and some cunts still modify their bolt action rifles to be a one-shot kill at an extreme silver cost and that's just not fun at all.
Yeah idk that much about it, I think I played part of one match and then was like "fuck this im out"
Is the description changed yet? Im about to buy a big chunk of premium so I can once again go sperg i ground to the mig15 from lvl 8 russia back when countries were leveled like that in 4 days those were the days
The description of what?
Presumably IFLAP's. They changed the name but forgot to change the little thing saying what the name stands for, and they didn't remove the bit about how our name is inappropriate.
The description of what?
The squadron description I assume [editline]5th September 2014[/editline]
Presumably IFLAP's. Wait a second, did the Ki-84 Hei's repair cost get doubled overnight?
Wait a second, did the Ki-84 Hei's repair cost get doubled overnight?
Unless they fixed it you should still be able to use your landing flaps at 500km/h to out-turn Spit IXes. So you shouldn't get shot down and pay for the repair cost anyway.
The squadron description I assume [editline]5th September 2014[/editline] Wait, I thought the full name did get changed properly.
Last time I checked they forgot to add "Land," so according to the description we're still IFAP and that's still inappropriate. The tag got changed but last time I checked that was it.
I've been playing that too. Game has some quirks, but it's decent enough I suppose.
Any game that lets me repeatedly kill tanks with sticky mines and pull of action shots is a fun game for me. When it works, that is. [t]http://i.cubeupload.com/VOy6NB.jpg[/t]
Just did a few SB Games in SP, and I just have to ask: Does the AI even follow any of the laws of physics? I mean, no-matter what I do they can either out-turn, out-climb, or out-run me, even when facing Buffalo's in an A6M3.
I don't know if it's just me, but something feels really wrong with the handling on my premium A6M5 now. Trying to right myself in a dive or turn is near impossible now, and it seems like I have to fuck around with the mouse or my other control surfaces until the ailerons decide to start acting like ailerons.

[t]http://i.cubeupload.com/VOy6NB.jpg[/t]
Hmm, let's see, an open world action game that let's you fly airplanes and kill shit with sticky mines that's not a terrible pay 2 win shovelware? Yeah, no, can't think of anything except for this shitty game. Oh wait, battlefield games have been around for 10+ years. Now can we get back to war thunder?
So the Floats! Arcade event is around again
Heroes and Generals is quite the grindfest though to be fair
