You should get it. It has the 103 30 mm cannons which are much higher velocity than the 108s and also sound cooler. And you can get HVAP ammo and kill tanks which is good (I think including heavy ones)
And it gets air starts on a few maps.

Just had my first enjoyable Realistic match (today's event). Our team was all bf109s but the retards on my team stayed low and got butt raped by the Russkies without killing any of them. Everybody except for me and one other bf109 f4 that had climbed died in like 5 mins. Both of us had gunpods. We stayed high and BnZ'd for about 25 mins. I got 4 kills and the other guy had 3 kills but he ran out of ammo and we were running out of fuel.
So, we headed back for the airfield and he tried to land while i tried to cover but both of us got ganged banged by the remaining 5. We lost but it was still pretty fun.
Just downed 2 spits in my banged up D13, kept outbluffing them and forcing em down.
One guy tried to climb back up and ran right into triple 20mm's.. the other was a deflection shot as he tried to turn inside me on a dive.
Shit like that, lovely.
Meanwhile half my team was chasing bombers at low altitude :/

Last time it was available it came after. They may have changed it now but somehow I doubt it.
On the bright side, that means to me that if they'll let people put research into it but not complete it that they'll make it available again some time.

I've been thinking of grinding the PBJ-1 attackers, because I've learned how to use my B-25 as a bomber interceptor. Is the 75mm on the PBJ-1H worth it?
So something I've noticed recently, could be a coincidence but if you're on fire, throttle to zero, and engine off the fire tends to go away. So far it's worked with the f9f-2, p80, p51, yak7b, la5 and yak9t.
The only times it's failed to work was when my yak9t was set on fire for the third time in 1 life, at which point my wing just said no and left, and the stuka which just tends to go up like a tinderbox before you can even engine off.

No, it gets fighter spawn point and has shit climb rate. You'll never be able to use it as an interceptor.

engine fires can sometimes be extinguished by killing the engine and diving, yeah
fuel fires on the other hand are a whole hell of a lot harder to put out, you pretty much just have to hope on your fuel tanks self-sealing
they really should add fire extinguishers to the planes that had them

The 75 is great against heavy bombers like the b17, pretty much a guaranteed one shot kill. I had almost no luck hitting fighters though due to joystick wobble.
It takes a while to climb up however, which makes it better at swatting lower altitude bombers. It will wreck shit on that airfield capture game mode due to everyone hugging the ground.

Speaking of broken 12.7s, the Folgore is such a sweet plane to fly but my god Italian guns CAN'T have been this bad in real life.
Folgore is reliant on explosive ammo that [I]still[/I] isn't detonating. Use the tracers belt if you can if it's still API-T.
