It is, but considering you need to be going relatively slow to get into a flatspin and considering you are burning extreme amount of velocity while flat spinning, it's never going to last more than a little moment and some planes are probably incapable of it in general.

not really, the have a higher rate of fire being essentially the 12.7 Berezin UBT re-chambered for 20mm rounds.
Honestly Soviet 20mm is the most ass of 20mm since the latest gun damage rebalance, I think they fiddled with it and now shrapnel does far less damage than explosions, and Soviet HEF relies on shrapnel more than the sheer blast.
Fuck japan in general. Zeroes have shitty speed, their guns do no damage and catch on fire as soon as somebody farts on them from 1km away (and no, nobody is stupid enough to turn fight them). Ki84 is fuckin garbage too, their guns do no damage again, and it's simply not as good as the planes it faces. I'd take a p51 over ki84 any day of the week. It climbs better, it's faster in a straight line and it turns just as well.

I am sorry but while Zeroes are generally overtiered, they are still good planes outside of that, and Ki-84 is one of the best aircraft in the game.
Ki-84 also climbs significantly better than a P-51 and I am pretty sure it goes faster at all but very high altitudes, not to mention accelerating significantly faster.
Maybe it's just me but I rarely see Japanese planes catch on fire when I compare to how many times I've caught fire on my American planes.

I got tired of b17, do217, yer2 spam in tier 4 arcade and i've been playing nothing but RB for the past week. I do ok with american (p51, p63, f4u c) and british (spitfire ix, typhoon, tempest) planes getting 1 or 2 kills every match and been raping with germany (109g6 with gun pods, 190 A5 vanilla and U2) getting 2-5 kills every game but i just can't do anything with russian (yak9 various flavors, i185, la5fn and la7) and japanese (ki84 ko, a6m3 mod 22 and a6m5) planes. In 80% of the matches i get 0 kills.
Only problem with the russian planes = shvaks fuckin suck dick. Because of their shit muzzle velocity you have to lead like 300m and even when you manage to land some hits by some unholy miracle, they don't do anything. They're worse than british 7.7mm in terms of damage.
Like i said, japan comes down to zeroes and ki84s and their 20mms is the worst shit ever. It just doesn't do anything. My paint ball gun would deal more damage. The zeroes can't climb for shit, they're slow and catch on fire as soon as an american plane farts on you. Ki84s just aren't as good as p51s or late spitfires.
And no, p51s always end up 100-500m higher than me and they're definitely faster in a dive or straight line.

in my experience, it seems that most jap planes perform better in arcade where all the mongoloids are who are stupid enough to turn fight a zero. Japs do especially well in arcade mode considering they turn into literal UFO's and can do a full turn in under 5 seconds.

not sure what you are doing but the Ki-84 is definitely better than the P-51 in terms of climb rate and turn speed. Are you fully upgraded?

I think a lot of your complaints are subjective, tbh. You whine a lot about shvaks and nippon cannons but its probably because you dont use them a lot.
I started off playing nothing but Japanese and eventually moved to Russians and Americans, I cant play Germans worth shit and Im also not much good with the British (in RB) because Im not at all used to their guns. Im like the opposite of you. Im seeing far more kills with Russians and Japs than I am with Germany and Britain in RB.

The Ki-84 Hei can put down Mustangs better than any other plane I've seen yet. It's got bigger guns and a more centered cone of fire, so its window of opportunity to shoot is longer than you get in a Mustang too.
Also, last time I played RB, I shot down a Liberator with my Zero's 7.7s, so either the Liberator is hilariously fragile or the Zero's 7.7s actually do some damage. If the latter, I'm especially glad they're updating the sounds because they sound like spitball guns.

the jappo 7.7s are the least powerful guns in the game IIRC. Awful muzzle velocity, awful belts, and awful ROF.

the UBT and the shvak have the same ROF though
the B-20 is pretty much just a lighter shvak, they have the same ROF, muzzle velocity, and round.

Most are literally just British .303 Vickers E copies. The rate of fire is still around 900 rounds a minute, which isn't nearly reflective of the sputtering put-put sound in game.

It's not fully upgraded but it's almost there. I think engine injection, cover and wing repair are left. I afk climb at 280km/h and p51s always end up ~500m higher. Also, i'm talking about ki84 ko which has two tickle guns and two 20mm paint ball "cannons".
How do you not rape everything with 3-6 151s? Just point them in the general direction of anything and they die? 1-2 sec bursts are enough to critically damage any plane. On the other hand, with japanese planes i have to park behind a plane for like 5 mins, pump everything i've got into him and still not get a single crit.

some planes arent much good at AFK climbing, if you "step" climb in the Ki-84 Im pretty sure it's the fastest climber in the game.
Also yeah the Ko is pretty bad in the armament department but at rank 3 it just outperforms the shit out of everything that it sees. That said Im glad I got through the whole tree before their cannons got stomped on

honestly it's because you have to grind so much to actually get the 3 MG151s and I dont really like the stock 109s enough to want to do it, when I can just play my cannon-beercan or whatever.
Im not saying they are bad planes by any stretch I just find them kinda not-fun. Though I've probably not given them a fair shake.
