high tier GF gameplay is made of ass
It's slower, less populated, less rewarding and you only get to play against turbonerds.
So is flying joystick in realistic really a good idea or do mouse aim players still have an advantage?
So is flying joystick in realistic really a good idea or do mouse aim players still have an advantage?
only place where joystick would give you an advantage is at SB. And at that point, just go play IL-2 1946.
So is flying joystick in realistic really a good idea or do mouse aim players still have an advantage?
Don't fly joystick in RB unless you are Grmlz. The loss in aiming accuracy and fly by wire is not worth the gains in maneuvering efficiency.
So is flying joystick in realistic really a good idea or do mouse aim players still have an advantage?
If you like to fly planes and have a challenge, joystick can be a lot of fun, but if you're in it to get kills, stick with the mouse. Those planes fly like they are guided by lasers and in a head-on, you will be at an extreme disadvantage against a mouse user. I was playing with my friend late into the night with both of us using Joystick + TrackIR. We both were using BF-109 E-3s, and we were following this video, almost to the letter. It was a whole lot of fun flying in close formation, even into dives on lone players. We always focused the same guy, and whether we got the kill depended solely on our gunnery skill when doing a pass. We got to a point where we were doing a rotary mower (in the video at 15:24) in turns on enemy spitfires, where one of us would be at the top of a loop while the other is gunning, and then they would climb into the loop and the first guy would dive down and commence his attack. It was legit fucking fun through and through. I'd recommend you watch the whole thing. The first half is probably stuff you already know and you should watch it nonetheless, but the second half has some really cool stuff.

i wish there was some way to forfeit your plane points and get something in return jumping in between planes and tanks really spoils the game for me
This patch added two new planes that I actually care about, but after just three rounds I was very quickly reminded why I stopped playing this game. I hate the people that play this game and the broken meta that results from bad matchmaking. I just don't need that kind of frustration and stress in my life anymore. Instead I'll just continue lurking in this thread and looking at all the pretty pictures of planes I'll never fly and continue wishing I was good enough at this game to be able to carry a team of worthless everything.

You get to shoot the shit talking about random bullshit while climbing, and then you have a better time in combat.
So is flying joystick in realistic really a good idea or do mouse aim players still have an advantage?
Alternatively, if you're looking for an extreme challenge and are a masochist, do what I did and use a Joystick, pedals and TrackIR in arcade.

You mostly get to ignore some of the BS when you're playing with friends, like how I just played rank 6.0 arcade with 1 other person and managed to not ragequit arcade mode for once.
"Woo 14x1,000lb bombs for my Lancaster!" *hit battle* "Shit, I forgot to buy them" Ohoho I wish I could use all the 1,000lb bombs from the 6x1,000lb + 3x250lb loadouts I have... that'd actually be intuitive. [editline]a[/editline] [t]http://i.imgur.com/dOONnVn.png[/t] Bomber spam everywhere :v:
Does anyone want to squad up and play? I'm not in the squadron however.
Which planes you had problems in?
XF5F, Bearcat (the first one), and P-38. It's not the plane that's the problem. Those are all good planes individually, and when my team didn't evaporate in minutes I was able to shoot down some dudes or at least put up a good fight while outnumbered. The problem is that I just can't do everything by myself. Either half the team is bombers (big problem in era 4) and just gets wrecked by fighters, leaving the remainder of the team horribly outnumbered, or the team is just outright awful and they all get shot down on first contact.
how the dick do you rangefind in tanks god damn im shit at maths
how the dick do you rangefind in tanks god damn im shit at maths
Nobody does maths while playing tanks. It's more about getting it in the eye, really. Just keep on shelling and eventually you will get good at it. If you are bad at estimating drop, stick to high RoF, high velocity cannons, for instance stick to German mediums instead of German TDs or Heavies at high rank. In opposite to that, stick to late PzIII over late PzIVs. Play stuff with Soviet 57mm.
how the dick do you rangefind in tanks god damn im shit at maths
depends on the gun and the shell. Find a target thats 1 klick out, line it up with the center of the reticle and fire a shell and gauge the drop. Use that as reference. Be glad you don't have to compensate for things like wind or Coriolis.
aight i figured that I can roughly guess the distance by using the minimap, considering each square is around 400m wide and is 560m diagonally
aight i figured that I can roughly guess the distance by using the minimap, considering each square is around 400m wide and is 560m diagonally
depends entirely on the map when it comes to square distance I believe. Just fire a shot noting your compensation and adjust based on where it landed in accordance to your shot distance adjustment. Like if you fire with your sight adjusted on an enemy with it a like 300 meters and the shot lands half way between you two, you know you gotta aim at like 600 meters. Or if he is higher altitude than you (Like on a hill or something,) you gotta adjust more as well really though just play the game and you get a feel for it.

But yeah i've been getting large maps constantly and no small ones so I haven't been taking the smaller maps into consideration Just feels nice knocking out a tank with the first shot, and is pretty necessary for slow firing tanks like the IS-2

Why does playing one or the other, immediately make it your win, when you cannot go to a tank now, and try to get double xp on it as well? Because those are stupidly hard to level as well now

EVERYONE FEEL FREE TO USE MY TEAMSPEAK 3 CHANNEL FOR SOME JOLLY COOPERATION Address: sinux-eth0.sinus.cz After you get it, you will be stuck in the lobby, and the IFLAP specific channel and the sub-channel will be accessible to you under the IFLAP Channel Password: russianbias This info is also in post #2 of this thread and I will update it in case change happens.
Pro Teamspeak guide because people always complain about that: If someone's too quiet, right click their name and... Do that.

Is the Shinden actually fixed, or did they just announce it was going to be? I've been trying to use it in test-flight and either that runway is way too short for it or the thing just doesn't want to take off because I cannot get it into the air Edit: Never mind game was just being weird and glitchy

Just really not a durable plane, but that's serviceable.
It's good now. Just had a 6minute match where our base got rushed by lancasters
